Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Sorry Lib but I may stage an intervention on the 2nd pair.
Not great news at hospital today so will drop in occasionally here but forgive me if I don't have much fashion chat.

shop Flowers

Anyone else wondering if dry has made it onto the captain's table yet?

Off out for some drinks with a mate. Couldn't really be arsed so just wearing my 'The 1975' tee, black 7FAM boyfriend jeans, carvela leopard heels and ancient black leather biker. Have Givenchy Rottweiler clutch to up the fashun ante a bit.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 10/08/2016 20:15

Thanks shop

my life is such right now that i've been in pjs for the past hour. i've just got so little energy of late. i'm at the drs tomorrow for something else so i can have a word about it then, see if they can suggest anything, it's really interfering with normal life because all i want to do is sleep

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/08/2016 20:47

Thinking of you shop Flowers

One that sounds tough. After feeling similar when I was ill last winter, I think the conclusion I came to is to not push yourself but not give in either, to not let the body get used to doing nothing. Just do what you can. I hope the doc can help find out what's wrong. I am feeling ok today thanks, I think the peppermint capsules are helping a bit.

Lol at captain's table Amber. Bet she has got a permanent spot!

Huge asos order arrived (4 items for me, 4 items for Dsis).
Black skinny trousers looked tiny but were great, perfect length and nicely high waisted. Will be good to wear with loose tops for work.
River Island crop flares am undecided, they are a couple of inches above the ankle on me so I need to try them with shoes and assess the length properly. Also do I need 2 pairs of fitted black work trousers?
Origami t-shirt is going back, fit was a bit loose and material not that opaque.
Scuba dress was a hit on top, very tight and made boobs look excellent, but the fit on the hips was slightly off and it was about 4 inches too long, so will go back.

shopafrolic · 10/08/2016 22:22

Amber sounds like a perfect outfit to me

libertydoddle · 10/08/2016 22:33

Blair those crop flares do look tricky. Like the black skinnies.

Boden coral dress arrived today. I think Everyone wanted feedback?? Fit on me is very much as shown on the model, waist slightly high, skims over tummy. It's a good summer holiday dress. I'm a 12 on top, 14 on hips and the 12 fits nicely. I went for long length as I don't like my knees as it comes to just below the knee on me (I'm 5ft 6).

Amber pub outfit does sound good.

thanks blair i'm trying to not sleep all day , i only give in and nap when it gets to the point im actually falling asleep where im stood or sat. I think me already having chronic conditions makes it harder because i need to rest for those anyway but where do i draw the line? i'm just going slow but steady with everything and taking it one day at a time. i'm sure it will pass given enough time and rest

AmberNectarine · 11/08/2016 00:09

Would have been better without the food stains down my jeans, on balance! So hard when you're going on holiday in a few days and trying to keep all your favourite things sacred!

It's funny though, because I wasn't really sure about these jeans, but I wear them non stop! That seems to happen to me a lot, the more I vacillate, the more valued the item!

Take it easy one. I'm really lucky, always been pretty robust, but when DD wasn't sleeping I got pneumonia and meningitis in quick succession and it really floored me. Sometimes you have to listen to your body x

Saw a pair of amazing Balenciaga silver knee high boots in Grazia, but trying to be to be sensible: I have four equipment shirts - zebra print, red leopard print, multicoloured leopard print and black. Which do you think I was least excited about and which do you think I wear most often?!

Dreamqueen · 11/08/2016 07:39

Flowers Shop

I'm tempted by the Boden dress Lib it does look easy to wear.

Amber your outfit sounds perfect but you'd look great in anything.

Blair shame about the white top, it looks good in the pic but thats the trouble with a lot of Asos stuff. When it arrives it doesn't quite resemble the pic. Thank God for free returns.

Sorry to read that you're tired all the time One must be very frustrating.

No great S&B news here. I'm going up north for a week on Wednesday. Looks like I'll have to pack for colder weather & throw a few summer bits in as well. When I went up earlier in the year, it was warm and sunny at home but blowing a gale on the Fylde Coast. I had to go to outlet store & by an emergency warm jacket!!!!

BerniceBobsHerHair · 11/08/2016 08:17

Shop Flowers to you and DF.

Lib I'm sure it won't surprise you that I like the second pair of shoes too!

In fact this brings me to a conundrum - comfortable heels for the non-heel wearer...do they exist? I would like a mid heel, block heel shoe to wear when only a heel will do. Does anyone have any ideas? I think it is one of those holy grail items for me like a stylish, waterproof coat Grin

One sorry to hear you are struggling at the moment.

Amber I covet your zebra Equipment shirt.

libertydoddle · 11/08/2016 08:33

Thanks Bernice. I knew I could rely on you!!

Amber I love your zebra print shirt too. I'm guessing the plain black gets the least wear?

One hope you have a good day today. You sound like you are managing it all well.

Flowers for shop.

OOTD is leopard loafers, Boden black flared skirt (possibility one if my best ever cpw items), brick red Iris and Ink sleeveless silk shirt (first wear for this) and beige cropped Zara jacket.

QueenC1 · 11/08/2016 09:00

amber im with you wearing the depths of my wardrobe as everything is packed. Luckily I'm at work today and tomorrow so can wear good clothes again for the next 2 days.

bernice I love block heels. My days of wearing stiletto heels are over. I have one much loved pair that I wear with the viv westwood dress and that's it. My black Mary Janes block heeled are years old from clarks. They are just verging into frump terroritry but suit my style so look ok I think. I
may replace them this year. Topshop often have nice block heels.

blair those black crops look tricky. With the right shoes and top they would look amazing but styled wrong I can imagine them to look rubbish.

I ordered a couple of dresses from gap yesterday-will link when they arrive.

Everyonelovessparkles · 11/08/2016 09:29

lib thanks for the feedback on the Boden dress Flowers I was tempted by the black but it's now sold out in my size. A shame as it sounds useful. Your outfit today sounds lovely.

shop thinking of you and your family Flowers

amber your outfit sounded perfect for a girly catch up. Grin at food stained jeans, that sounds like me, your usually I have a mucky handprint on my shoulder courtesy of DS.

blair shame about your order being hit and miss. Maybe style the cropped trousers with a few different tops when you have time and see how they look and think about when you'd wear them. If you're not sure about them maybe return them?

one well done on the weight loss but sorry to hear you're out of sorts. Maybe all the stress of moving is affecting you subconsciously?

I'm still not feeling great, so taking it easy and working from home and just wearing black harem pants and t'shirt. Not overt stylish but comfy!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/08/2016 09:55

justa forgot to say, yes, first time Auntie! (Though I have 2 DNs through DH) In fact it's funny because I am the oldest grandchild on my mum's side and this will be the first great-grandchild... Always thought it would probably be me first eventually but somewhat relieved it's not!

one I'm always amazed how you cope with it all, plus managing the weight loss on top is just fantastic. You know yourself best Flowers I hope it improves soon.

Bernice I'm the same, so glad block heels are in at the moment! Asos have nice ones and I second QueenC's recommendation of topshop. Having said that, the Uterque pair I ordered will be my first.

I measured the length of the 2 trousers and the skinnies were 26" and the crops 24" so only 2 inches shorter. I couldn't take a good photo of my stumpy legs so will get my sister's opinion at the weekend when I give her her items (she's not the pregnant one btw Grin).

AmberNectarine · 11/08/2016 10:15

The black one is actually by far the most worn. Goes with everything! I was a bit annoyed at spending so much on a 'boring' item, but it was totally worth it. Point of the story is that I shouldn't be swayed by shiny silver boots because black will ultimately be more useful.

Taking DC into work to have lunch with DH today. Hopefully they won't shame me in the office.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 11/08/2016 11:50

thanks all, sympathies appreciated! i know what the most likely culprit is, just need to check with the doctor how i deal with it. i feel a bit better today though still tired

amber i'm the same, i resent spending on 'boring' things but i appreciate how much use i get out of them, still, there'll always be that bit of me yearning for silver pirate boots and red go go boots Grin

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 11/08/2016 12:06

I resent spending on bras the most! Blush wish I could be more like Blingy and just get really nice underwear but I can't be bothered for day to day.

It's my friend's birthday today and she brought her new Chanel purse into the office to show off Envy problem is it's navy and she wants to swap it for black or upgrade to a WOC Grin

My Uterque shoes arrived and I was forced to try one on. They are beautiful and so classy looking, I would definitely buy from them again. Might be a tad narrow but I'm sure they will stretch with wear.

libertydoddle · 11/08/2016 14:22

Very good point amber. I agree it's worth spending on the basics.

Blair good to hear uterque shoes are good. Bernice I will join you on the hunt for perfect block heels. They are a holy grail item! I'd love teal or burgundy block heel Mary Jane's.

Small detail to share if my life....i made it successfully past a big milestone on a work project last week. I can't fully describe the relief. I'm still really busy but getting to this point just feels great and suddenly I feel lighter inside and like everything is easier. Hoping I can hold onto the feeling for a while Smile

Shopping Challenge MNV

I tried on a denim pinafore type dress in TK Maxx this morning. Loved it but it was the last one & side seam was wonky. It's similar to this I'm looking for a nicer one than the DP one and slightly longer. I saw loads on blogs earlier in the summer & thought it wouldn't suit me but having tried it on, I want one. Smile

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 11/08/2016 18:31

doctor has ordered full bloods so ive got that booked for next week. he says he's going to get to the bottom of it so here's to that

shop how are you lovely?Thanks

i agree with the block heel love. they are all i can wear if i wear any sort of heel though for me they have to be low or i cant balance in them

AmberNectarine · 11/08/2016 18:52

Block heels don't really work that well on me. Certainly only as summer shoes like my red Topshop sandals. Don't really wear them in winter - probably a CP thing.

Knackered - took DC to the sea life centre and the south bank after lunch with DH. Lovely day though; they behaved really nicely and did me proud, even when I had to have a quick meeting in the office. DS in particular is obsessed with nature so he got a lot out of it (and has come home clutching a cuddly shark).

OOTD was a black Maje tee with Eagles, wolves and a motorbike on it (DS's favourite), washed black TS Baxters, black studded Frye cowboy boots and Stella McC Falabella. Out tomorrow night with DH, will be nice to break out of the t-shirt and jeans uniform. Enjoying being off work but less opportunities to dress up!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 11/08/2016 18:55

my ootd has been opaques (it was freezing here first thing) an a-line button thru denim skirt, black catwoman roller derby girls tee and a black cardigan. pretty basic but i liked it and the skirt is actually a bit big on me now so needed a belt which it didnt before

AmberNectarine · 11/08/2016 18:58

Oh, must thank peach for switching me on to Gorgeous Couture as I have found my dress! Actually I got it from eBay for £22 after an idle search on there and it is spot on and brand new! Old style, I think, as not on website but I'm very happy!

peachmama · 11/08/2016 19:14

Amber I need to thank you too!!.

You posted a black denim jacket you had from New Look the other day.....I clicked on your link and then had a browse around the site, as you do.....

Found this: www.newlook.com/shop/womens/jackets-and-coats/mink-leather-look-contrast-waterfall-jacket-_377875223

A few weeks ago I found one exactly like this in the Mint Velvet sale - was still £150 ....and as am losing weight I didn't know whether to get it. As soon as I got home I wished I had - and have coveted it (and searched and searched on line) ever since.

Have now go the £30 option from NL and it's great!.

Epic find on that dress for £22 Grin.

Sorry for poor thread catching up. Mini peach has tummy virus and heavy cold and i am doing a smashing impression of a zombie.
