Drywhitethanks · 05/08/2016 23:05

Blingy would like to clarify that for a party one must be ott Smile.... Have no doubt it will be amazing. X

FedupNagging · 06/08/2016 10:07

Have fun Dry

Your party sounds like it is going to be amazing Blingy and fwiw I can't imagine you doing understated Wink

Waves to Mara, nice to see you. I didn't do a very good job with the st tropez and ended up with streaks and blobs Hmm I exfoliated and did it again yesterday and seem to have done a better job second time around.

I'm not that into Orlando Bloom but felt I needed to look at his willy undertake some research so that I can contribute fully to this thread Grin 'meh' is all I have to say on that subject.

Ootd yesterday got several compliments - Next chambray strappy jumpsuit (sale bargain 2 years ago), boden orange cropped cardi and animal print gigi's - met gf's for lunch which then turned into a sundowner!

No plans for today so looking forward to spending the afternoon in the garden reading - have a good day everyone.

maradesbois · 06/08/2016 12:13

Morning,

Fedup, yes, you need to be a bit careful applying it and making sure you rinse enough but not too much but its the happiest I've been with fake tan. Haven't bothered with it since we got back from the sunshine and have been baring less flesh but would've been nice to be a bit tanned for the gorgeous weather today. Going to bbq at friends, think I will wear tomato red tart dress from last year.

Dry yes please to outfit pics, particularly want to see you in your evening stuff.

Have a great weekend all.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/08/2016 13:14

Have fun embarking Dry! Looking forward to (outfit) pics too.

Blingy, wow, the party sounds like it'll be amazing.

Just watching last night's opening ceremony. Loving the Aruba team's hats! (Tried to find a pic to insert, instead found this very appropriate link Grin)

Did an asos haul last night with 15% off birthday code. I've been a bit bored with my wardrobe and realised it needed a few more up to date basics:
Crop flare work trousers - hope they don't look ridiculous
Crepe top for work - I like this fabric that they do, a really thick stiff polyester
More black work trousers - just a replacement for old ones
Black scuba dress
and non-Asos:
Uterque shoes - really hope they aren't too narrow as they'll go with everything, a la the Chanels they are copies of tributes to.
and my sister is picking up these Topshop jeans for me
and I might do a Uniqlo order.
Anything not right will go back!

Amber I'm sorry I didn't let you know before about your lovely Zarita offer - I've been umming and ahhing and tried mine on the other day, but I don't think it will fit. I'm having some health issues atm (NOT pregnant guys!) and somehow weigh nearly 10 stone, my own Zarita was literally an inch below my bum cheeks. So thank you again for the offer Flowers and let's do that coffee sometime anyway :)

peachmama · 06/08/2016 14:45

Hi lovely Vogies,

I have had a Peroni.

I will attempt to go back and thread catch up later.

Amber I saw your sad news Flowers. Really sorry to hear it and I hope you are feeling over that initial shock and level of upset, which is awful.

Fedup - your 'research' made me laugh out loud!. I'm with you Grin.

Have a fabulous time dry!. Look forward to hearing about outfits and exploits.

OOTD - is a white, embroidered halterneck midi dress, floaty'ish. Which I haven't been able to fit in this summer before so I am getting there!. BBQ tomorrow which I would like to wear it too - can I get it washed and dried by then Hmm. I like to delude myself that I am rocking an ode to Marilyn Monroe - with my hair dried naturally and all blonde and wavy. Sadly the reality is more like a blonde, frizzy, hot and bothered Marilyn Manson - but lets not dwell on the details Grin.

Right I must go and cook lasagne. I must not have any more Peroni.

Longislandicetee · 06/08/2016 16:56

peach have the peroni it's a lovely summers day!!

Blair, love the crop trousers, I would love to wear something like that on a casual Friday at work in summer, but would have to be petite version. Those shoes are very Chanel esque aren't they? Oh and Hubba hubba at that dress!Wink sorry you haven't been well lovey.

Dd and I have been shopping this afternoon because she wanted a new dress for the party. She ended up choosing this sequinned dress. Yes the apple fell far from the tree!Grin

We also ended up getting this Brietling watch as a present. Let's hope dd is good at keeping secrets!

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/08/2016 17:05

afternoon all

that's a lovely dress blingy dd clearly has taste Smile

peach have that peroni, it'd be a shame not to on such a nice day, it's not like it's your 12th of the day!

blair sorry you've been feeling ill lately, hope you feel better soon Thanks don't get fixated on losing the extra few pounds too quickly though, it takes time to to go on so it makes sense that it takes time to come off and you dont want to risk making yourself ill in the process of losing it lovely

i'm sat in front of the fan with a coffee and a book. i went earlier to buys oem flowers fromt he market and ive done a bit of housework and laundry and that's all ive done all day, doesn't feel like much but tbh, i've been utterly exhausted for the past couple of weeks and all ive been wanting to do is sleep so i trying not to push myself too hard until this bout of exhaustion passes

peachmama · 06/08/2016 18:03

Oh onetime - hopefully a fairly restful day today has helped - and feeling exhausted passes soon. Horrible feeling Flowers.

Ahhh blingy - cute dress!. Lovely watch too - fab pressie.

Oh well go on then - you have twisted my arm for a second peroni - happily enabled! Grin. Would much rather it was an ice cold vat of delicious white wine, but with the requisite 5am alarm from peach baby that's not an option today.

QueenC1 · 06/08/2016 18:16

Lovely sunshine today. Wearing the black Uniqlo dress for a family event we went to. Drove past Kilver court and the mulberry factory-I so wanted to stop!!

Lovely dress for mini blingy.

Good buys blair-love the shoes. Sorry you've been unwell.

I'm itching to buy some new stuff and have my eye on a couple of things but it's a bit early in the season yet as I know come September there'll be loads more lovely stuff in the shops.

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2016 19:48

Evening all

I am a broken woman - out til 5am this morning (having got home at 4am yesterday). Still managed to spend the afternoon in the pub sipping prosecco, mind. Have achieved sum total of sod all today (bar some screen-related mediocre parenting). Evening on the sofa beckons.

Have acquired a few cheap and cheerful summer bits as I realised a lot of my high summer stuff was in last legs territory!

Orange ruched dress - this is the third of the ruched dresses I have bought, also have green off the shoulder and plum crew neck versions. They are so easy to wear!

black ruched vest - likewise. Great quality and v flattering.

denim jacket saw this in Grazia and ordered straight away. Haven't bought from NL in yonks but it is fab. Have had loads of compliments on it.

sundress - am trying capsule holiday wardrobe packing with palette of red, black and white (with a little bit of leopard and gold). Wearing today - buttons make it a bit 'busty wench'. DH seems to approve.

kaftan

el cheapo bikini

sunhat

wrap shirt - I love wrap shirts and cardigans but they are hard to come by. Was pleased to find this! Wore to work tucked into a tight black pencil skirt.

one shoulder dress - I think we can all agree that I need another black, bodycon dress like Kanye West needs encouragement, but it looks good and was a bargain, so whatcha gonna do?

clutch the central axis of my holiday wardrobe. I never take £££ bags on summer hols as I drink relax too much and leave them in bars etc.

sandals - have been looking for black sandals I like for a while. These are v simple but I really like them.

Think that's it - probably enough!

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2016 19:49

blair - no worries! Sorry you're not feeling yourself. Let's definitely stage a mini MU x

shopafrolic · 06/08/2016 20:26

Denim jacket link not working for me. Didn't try the rest Amber
Spent the day between hospital (my DF is back in) and sun lounger in my bikini.
Waving to all.

Everyonelovessparkles · 06/08/2016 20:45

Cute dress blingy my DD would love that too!

Have a great time dry I bet it will be great for people / fashion watching!

Nice buys amber p. You are hardcore! Hope you have a nice relaxing evening.

Sorry to hear about your DF shop. Flowers Your holiday sounded fab by the way, glad you all relaxed.

peach hope you're having a nice time with family. Your dress sounded nice.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 06/08/2016 20:56

Oh shop I hope your DF is ok?

Amber great bargains! I never spend much on summer clothes either. I don't need any really, but I'm seriously tempted by the Boden things and the Baukjen dress - love a bit of ruching!

Thanks everyone. I hope none of this is tmi, but my main issue lately is that no matter what I eat, I'm horrifically bloated all the time. All the usual tests came back normal. Also have bad acid reflux (had for years) and some other gut-related problems, which my GP has focused on. I got some tablets for the acid, which helped a bit but now aren't doing anything, so I'm in pain every day with that. Plus I look several months pregnant as soon as I eat my morning banana. Sorry for rant :( it is getting me down as I never used to have any health issues or had to think about what I eat, and I've put on a few pounds (maybe unrelated) which I hate.

shopafrolic · 06/08/2016 20:59

Blair you need to speak to Sleep I am sure she could help. She has completely sorted my DH out....

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2016 21:00

I'll try again shop - here

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 06/08/2016 21:03

shop i hope your DF is okay Thanks

oh blair lovey, that sounds very painful. i can relate to the bloating although i know it's IBS that causes mine, it really brings you down doesn't it?have you discussed changing your medication and tryign something else for the reflux or even if it's something that can be surgically fixed? i know in some cases there's a small operation can be done to stop it but obviously, i couldn't say if you're a candidate for that. i hope you get to the bottom of it all soon Thanks and try not to worry about your weight, it will fluctuate an awful lot just because of the bloating alone so try not to get upset by it, i'm sure you will be able to drop those few pounds once they get sort out whats causing the stomach problems Thanks

shopafrolic · 06/08/2016 21:23

Love that Amber
Thanks for the well wishes. DF has a lung full of fluid so quite poorly but not life threatening. Shame as it is there golden wedding anniversary today. We were due to take them for a posh lunch but will have to delay until he feels better.

QueenC1 · 06/08/2016 22:08

blair you shouldn't need to be in pain every day. Pm me if you'd prefer but what tests have you had done? Have you had an endoscopy? i have self diagnosed IBS but have learnt what usually sets it off (bread, pasta and raw tomatoes). Have you tried peppermint capsules as they can really help with bloating.
amber love the wrap shirt-used to wear lots of wrap stuff pre dc but since then they just seem to highlight my tummy area. Shame as BR have some lovely wrap cardigans.
shop hope df ok

libertydoddle · 06/08/2016 22:09

Poor you Blair. Sounds miserable. I second asking sleep for a chat to see if she could help.

Love that jacket amber. I'm tempted to try a Boden ruched dress but fear I may look like a sausage!!

maradesbois · 06/08/2016 22:12

Sorry to hear about df Shop, hope he isn't in for too long.

Amber love the jacket! pompom bag is fab too, used my straw clutch loads on holiday and am following a Sophie Anderson one online for potential end of sale extra discount.

Peach your day sounded lovely and glad you treated yourself to the second beer, we need to enjoy this sunshine while it lasts.

Blingy fab dress for dd, a chip off the old block indeed. Love the breitling too, am a big watch fan.

Blair poor you, sounds really uncomfortable. Are you stressed atm or has the bloating problem just randomly appeared? I can relate to you on the weight issue although you are much smaller than me. The student lifestyle has killed my figure this year. Although its been so much fun the pounds have crept on slowly but steadily and I weigh about 1.5 stone more than I did this time last year Sad. Since returning from holiday have decided enough is enough and started tackling it and feel better already but a long way to go.

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2016 22:22

I have a Sophie Anderson beach bag mara. It's lovely. Was something cray like £575 originally but I picked it up for about £130 (still ludicrous for a beach bag) in one of the Matches sample sales. I do love it though and it is HUGE.

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2016 22:25

shop Flowers hope DF is feeling better soon. My parents celebrate their golden anniversary in 2018. They have been together since they were 14!

blair that sounds rough. I have chronic gastritis and occasionally get an ulcer flare up, so am on and off omeprazole. Sounds like further investigation is needed x

lib you should - I think the 'beetle green' would be great on you.

AmberNectarine · 06/08/2016 22:33

lovely watch blingy. I think I'll get DH a nice watch for his 40th. That said I got him a lovely one on our wedding day which is ignored in favour of the fucking Apple Watch, so maybe not!

It's been a tough week but feeling a little more like myself again. While I don't condone binge drinking except on days with a Y in them, sometimes letting off a bit of steam does help. We have also chosen a kitten, who will come to us in September. House feels a bit soulless now, without a pet. Hopefully she will be just as characterful as my lovely boy, but less of a risk-taker.
