Summertime, and the livin' is easy...some of us are basking on beaches, others are managing the madness that is school's out but work goes on...either way we want to look chic in the heat while it lasts

Come tell us what you are wearing on these balmy days...it's friendly here Smile

Flowers and hugs to Amber - your stories of his hunting escapades made me laugh - just doing what came naturally!

Shop and Dream hope you both feel better soon.

Weather was pretty miserable here too although warm so ootd was boden navy crops, Cos orange oversize (although slight less oversize since I shrunk it Hmm ) top, giant orange and pink scarf and stans.

Went to see Finding Dory today - I definitley laughed way more than the 4yo I went with and the teenage girls sitting behind Blush

Longislandicetee · 02/08/2016 21:31

Amber lovey if I can distract you for a moment.... the HL dress is fantastic. Thank you!Flowers Will pin pic for you. Trying to decide whether I can get away with wearing them with red strappy heels or whether I might get silver strappy heels. Waiting for the Gucci to arrive but I think the HL is it.

AmberNectarine · 02/08/2016 21:38

Oh hurrah, can't wait to see it!

Everyonelovessparkles · 02/08/2016 21:44

Sorry to hear about your cat amber. He did sound like a character. Flowers

Glad you like the HL blingy and had a better outfit day today - it sounded lovely.

Longislandicetee · 02/08/2016 22:08

Thanks Everyone! I was trying to describe this Roland Mouret dress which I haven't worn for ages.

MarshaBrady · 02/08/2016 22:39

Quick post to say hola (didn't go to Spain, but felt apt) after holiday.

Was so good, so hot, and so relaxing. Not a cloud in sight. Funny when you get back to London there's almost an autumnal feel just due to the greenery, and the clouds too I guess. I do love returning to London, just not the journey from Gatwick which is fraught with too many people also returning from holiday. Finally the dc are in bed, so excited and it's so late I need some silence. Now I have that I am actually pleased to be home.

Work tomorrow eep! Straight back into it, dh has a day off, wish I'd had the foresight to do the same. Would be a bit suspect to not turn up.

Anyway, lovely to be back as normal name, need to sort that out, and big mwah to everyone. Will catch up tomorrow.

justasecond · 02/08/2016 23:35

Aw Amber so sad to hear that about your cat Flowers I loved the way you described his antics, he sounded like a lot of fun.

Welcome back Marsha glad you had a relaxing break, shame you have to go back to work straight away. We are off on a short break in the morning, still need to finish packing!

Dress sounds a winner Blingy and I think you are spot on about the marcie.

Hope you feel better soon dream Flowers

Dreamqueen · 03/08/2016 06:29

Flowers Amber very sorry to read about cat. I loved reading about his hunting exploits. He sounded quite a character.

Thanks for all the get well wishes. Day 2 of steroids. I don't like taking them, but they do the job. i never travel without an emergency dose. A few years ago I got this same cough thing on first day of how & kept thinking it would go. It didn't & put a dampener on it. Lesson learnt.

Wore Stans yesterday, happy to report that the squeak has gone & they are nearly as comfy as my New Balance 410s. It's very grey here this morning. Not sure what to wear.

FedupNagging · 03/08/2016 08:29

forgot to say yesterday, enjoy your hols in Ireland Lib

Welcome back Marsha, today will be a bit of a shock to the system! Did you and Shop manage a mu?

I've coughed up £15 for the St tropez shower stuff - apparently it's fool proof but we'll see! I think some of you here use it so any useful tips will be gratefully received.

I think ootd will be the new white company Breton dress and stans and will give my new red MK bag its inaugural outing. Meeting an old friend I don't see often later.

Drywhitethanks · 03/08/2016 16:04

2 more sleeps Grin getting so excited have had a lot of coffee today washing everything that stays still for longer than a minute. Itching to get packing but trying to hold on until tomorrow afternoon .

Everyonelovessparkles · 03/08/2016 20:21

Hope you had a nice catch up with your friend fedup your outfit sounded lovely.

Glad all the clothes are sorted for your cruise dry hope you have a lovely time.

shopafrolic · 03/08/2016 22:14

Welcome back Marsha
Dream glad you're starting to feel better
Fedup no Cyprus MU unfortunately - would have been fun but too far and no cars
We've been in Brighton today. My happy place. Feel better for some sea air but the waves were rough and the wind cold so no paddling for DS.

Stokey · 04/08/2016 07:30

Welcome back Marsha, hope your first day goes well. Hope you're feeling better too Shop, Blair & Dream.

Packing for me today, just looked at the weather and we're going to have a couple of raining days which has thrown me out of kilter. I think it means I need to take Stans. So I'll have flip flops, silver Gigis, Sam Edelman Trina's (black sandals with small heel) and Stans for rain. Is that too much for two weeks?

I already feel like I'm going to overpack. But we're flying Ryanair out & have a train journey journey half way through so need to rein it in.

Dreamqueen · 04/08/2016 07:32

I bought this dress from the Alexa for M&S collection. It's very nice on & much better than the pic. I thought it would be good for cooler evenings on hols & sleeves would foil the mozzies. It's 100% cotton too. Alexa Chung has never been a style icon of mine but I seem to have purchased quite a few bits from her M&S collection.

Steroids seem to be doing their job & feel much improved this morning.

I love Brighton too Shop We haven't done much seaside visiting this summer. I think with age my tolerance for long journeys just to have a day out has disappeared.

Welcome home Marsha
hope you have a lovely break Justa
Have you packed yet Dry?
Looking forward to hear how you got on with the St Tropez stuff Fedup

QueenC1 · 04/08/2016 07:54

Morning all. Off to work today . Love my dc but will be glad of a break!

stokey remind me where you're going? Where im going said rain next week but I checked a different forecast and it was totally dry. I doubt I'll bother packing wet weather stuff as it'll still be hot.
dry exciting-can't wait to hear all about it.

Am I the last to go? I go next saturday...

Drywhitethanks · 04/08/2016 08:52

KittyHello · 04/08/2016 13:47

Some great purchases there Dream love the Alexa dress.

I'm packing ultra light for a change. Am off next week.

Queen have a nice day at work Wink

Just doing a last minute holiday shop
black Boden swimsuit
scarf for plane

VivaVegas · 04/08/2016 15:01

Stokey I won't tell you how many sandals I have with me for 2 weeks!

shopafrolic · 04/08/2016 16:44

For any of you with dinosaur mad boys - I would highly recommend the Zoorassic park dinosaur expo at Whipsnade Zoo. Absolutely brill. (Not very Vogue I know - sorry). You can always pop in for a cuppa on your way home :)

FedupNagging · 04/08/2016 17:00

I always take too many shoes and end up wearing about 2 pairs but the weather is uncertain then you need to go prepared so best be on the safe side - sorry, not helping! Dry how's the packing going?

Dream lovely buys - having met you I can definitely see you in the Alexa dress.

So the fool proof fake tan is obviously not Fedup proof - I have a blob on my foot and streaks on one leg and one arm Hmm - how?????

Hope you enjoyed the peace & quiet at work today Queen and Shop the dinosaur exhibition looks brilliant - my dc's would have loved it when they were younger. I seem to remember going to a dinosaur park near Norwich a few which they really enjoyed.

Stokey · 04/08/2016 17:24

Glad I'm not being over-dramatic, may pack silver ghillies too for wet evenings.

We're going to the Italian lakes first QueenC, very near the mountains so the weather can be changeable even in August. I'll probably only wear trainers once or twice but no waterproof shoes is a risk.

Good buys Dream & Kitty. You've made me remember I left my scarf at a party, may need to do Accessorise at the airport.

shopafrolic · 04/08/2016 17:59

Stokey I can't wait to follow your holiday pics. Would love to go there. I usually wear trainers to the airport if I need to cover my bases......

Dreamqueen · 04/08/2016 18:11

Stokey I think you're being quite moderate with the shoe choices. Sounds like a good choice to cover all events.

Hows the packing going Dry?

Kitty Lovely swimsuit. Where are you going on holiday?

That's a shame about the tan stuff Fedup I had high hopes about it too. won't bother trying it now.

Thank you for the nice compliments about my new purchases suiting me. I know I keep saying it but I'm going to try and forget my credit card number & rein in the shopping. I don't need anything much at the moment so am going to wait for colder weather before buying anything else.

These Sandals are being returned. two stones have fallen out already and I haven't even left the house. I have some Sol Sana white ones from last year & they are great.
