WWW's six week 10 year younger boot camp, Jan - half term, WEEK FOUR

wickedwaterwitchhaspmt · 21/01/2007 22:13

Right, here's something for a Monday morning and this and this

This is WEEK FOUR. The rules:

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

The Rules:

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

And the results of my 2 week weigh in arrrrrrrrrrrre:

5lbs!

It would have been more but I was cruelly tempted by a lime pie and a bottle of Oyster Bay at a bbq yesterday.

I'm now virtuously eating some cucumber and carrot batons with some skinny hummus.

I went for a theraputic chinese massage this morning (not a candle and aromatherapy affair, it was more earthy than that). Did trick nicely and I think it's very good for wellbeing (and about £15, well worth it IME).

I also painted my nails and have been religiously sunscreening/water drinking/body lotioning.

I do feel much better already, thank you WWW

Now, all I need to do is shift one more 5lb bag of spuds from each buttock, and my trousers might be back in the running.

And with apologies to all non-Sydneysiders, but it's blinking hot. About 41'C/105F humid degrees hot. It's nearly too hot for wine (that's pegged at 44'/114'F - the day in history when I refused a glass). No power walking for me today, just clinging limply to air-conditioning units instead.

foundintranslation · 22/01/2007 11:48

Well done arfishy!

Am sitting eating my lunch - leftover pumpkin and veg mash from yesterday. Yummy. Had carrot and grain bread for breakfast (there are many things I dislike about Germany, but I think even Califrau would agree with me that it's almost worth moving here just for the bread).

winnie · 22/01/2007 12:16

WWW, I love Jackie Fleming. Thanks for that

I am doing ok.
Although still need to increase exercise and water intake.

I am particularly enjoying going to bed early and reading and am revisiting classics I read as a teenager. Which makes me happy for a bit

Good luck all

furcoatandnoknickers · 22/01/2007 13:53

www thanks for the new link. I am severly lurking, but am so out of sorts after the flu that I am just being kind to my self also 40 th b'day yesterday - so I loved the cartoon! Am body brushing and layering on the moisturizer. I am trying to get rid of spots?? Where did they come from - Im 40 fgs. Everyone is doing so well. We all have to give ourselved mini-days-off and not be too hard on ourselves. xx

yoyo · 22/01/2007 17:44

WWW - those cartoons made me smile on a day when I have been rather down (trying to sort out schools for DC next year in new area). DS has just made me laugh by saying "if it doesn't snow I will call the Easter bunny to not bring you eggs" (probably better if it doesn't then!).

Winnie - glad to hear you're doing all right. Quite fancy early nights and children's classics but can't see it happening here.

So, my day... loads of tea and coffee as am chilled to bone, eaten relatively healthily (apart from 3 cubes of choc), absolutely no exercise, creams duly applied and a fair amount of water.

ER and Waking the dead tonight but do not fancy wine which is a good thing. Might have a small glass of sherry to warm the cockles as my Dad would say.

wickedwaterwitchhaspmt · 22/01/2007 18:01

Batters, chicken tikka isn't that bad and ups the happiness quotient I'd say!

Winnie, glad you're enjoying early nights and reading, me too on the nights I'm doing it.

Arfy, well done on 5Lbs! Excellent work! I'm actually not envious of the heat as I love the winter and cold weather and hate the sun with a passion, it sounds enervating darling

FIT well done on healthy lunch

Yoyo, good on the food front, glad I made you and others smile

I walked 30 mins at lunchtime and it was EASY PEASY! Yay! It was AGONY that first week but today I could have walked on for miles and miles.

Apart from breakfast I ate
lentils and prawns for lunch
2 apples
grapes and blueberries
loads of water
no idea what's supper, maybe fishfingers and peas as I don't think I got anything out of the freezer. Never mind

And I have to wash my hair tonight so I will use body cream etc. Have pmt so feeling bloated etc but hoping I miraculously lose a few lbs in a few days time...

arfy, I do like the sun, its 40 degrees colder here. Walked to my car after work tonight in a driving load of sleet and got frozen.

Breakfast: natural low fat yogurt.

Lunch: Dutch cheese, Italian ham, tomatoes and nuts.

Supper: will be mackerel salad.

No alcohol.

CAMy · 22/01/2007 18:28

sorry forgot to say hello to everyone at the top of week 4 and well done to all for their steps (big or small) towards serenity.

wickedwaterwitchhaspmt · 22/01/2007 20:42

Well done Winnie!

I have taken my make up off, showered, used body, heel and hand lotion and am now sipping water.

Dh has weighed me with a promise not to tell me but to do it again in a month to see if I've lost anything. (I know it demotivates me if I think I've done well and I haven't so would rather not know).

Monkeytrousers · 22/01/2007 21:25

Congratulations FiT! And fingers crossed too x.

Missed breakfast so had cup of coffee and a biscuit at toddlers
Quorn burger with salad in tomato and herb bun for lunch
cheese and onion quiche, sweet potato and broccoli mash fof dinner
a coiuple of quavers just now
Not a great deal of water
Lots of cough mixture

I'm not very good at this am I? And to top it all I feel guilty about it!

Maybe I should retire and come join you on your spring cleansing

Dinosaur · 22/01/2007 21:26

Congratulations, FiT!

I felt really gloomy when I came home from work so had a hunk of camembert and two crackers with taramasalata (which all made me feel quite sick).

And havhe just had stuffed pasta for tea.

Ah well, tomorrow is another day.

foundintranslation · 22/01/2007 21:35

Thanks for congratulations, everyone Sorry you're feeling glum, Dino - anything up?

Being pg is making all this easier for me in the main - alcohol's out, of course (went off it before I guessed I was pg), and since yesterday I've gone off caffeine completely. Had morning queasiness at the weekend but was OK-ish today. Walked to my gynae appointment this afternoon (half an hour) and had parsnips, pumpkin and potatoes with parsnip and carrot sauce for dinner.

foundintranslation · 22/01/2007 21:37

(oh, better be off to bed, it's just gone 10.30 here - and more lovely students to teach in the morning)
