Rose, it is/could be a very similar story here!

Fuckit Cremo - just relax and go.

Have just had a most restorative nap in the sun - despite having had 7 hours last night and going back to bed till 9.30, I was on the verge of tears...

motherinferior · 21/07/2016 16:41

Cremo, may I email you for a bit of specialist help on this as I truly am being a bit pathetic and DP is requesting I Do Some Research? Have dates, and overall spec....

magimedi · 21/07/2016 17:08

Back from France.

Sorry to hear about all the problems so many of you are having with parents. BD - I well remember all those rush/panic trips & they are so exhausting.

France was lovely - freezing cold when we got there but 38+ when we left.

PFGD is more beautiful & adorable than ever (if that's possible) but I did spend quite a lot of the time biting my tongue. DS & DIL have a very bad case of Precious First Born itis & I do hope they get over it soon!! You would also think that DS had arrived in this world as a fully grown man & that I had never had any experience of babies. I was even told how to push the berluddy pushchair!!

Very sombre mood in France post Nice, unsurprisingly.

Interesting talking to French friends re Brexit - they are as amazed by the result as we are but many of them said that had the French had a vote the 'Leave' percentage would have been much higher.

motherinferior · 21/07/2016 17:23

Magi, I'm sniggering at the thought of you being told how to handle a baby. Have to say DP's mum, having had four herself, was immensely reassuring - and adoring.

Cremolafoam · 21/07/2016 18:37

MI of course of course!,
Will get to it later tonight after Pilates.

Welcome back Magi.

BTM , dps were fine. Well behaved. Me too.Grin

hattymattie · 21/07/2016 18:44

Hello Magi - have to say I was like MI - happy to have a bit of competence and reassurance on hand. Never heard of special ways to push a pushchair though. DH and I were told off by DSiLaw for swinging their 4 year old between us by her arms - apparently we could have dislocated her shoulder. Well I guess it's possible but my three are all intact - and I do feel that the child knows no joy she is so overprotected.

I heard that a Frexit would be 61% This is why the French wish to "punish" us - I think they are very anxious about the whole thing.

Herbs - enjoying your FB account of the London Transport questions. I would have cracked and told him to shut up by now.

bigTillyMint · 21/07/2016 18:52

MM, well done on biting your tongue. Glad you had a lovely time.

Herbs, you have a Spotter on your hands, I thinkWink

Where is CV, queen of S&B - not only is she the most stylish on the photos of what they are wearing thread, she is recommending a Beauty Box! Go CV!

GiddyGiddyGoat · 21/07/2016 19:15

Have you forgotten your OLD (and Crepey) friends CV? Grin

hattymattie · 21/07/2016 19:33

Crikey - CV is well glam - I don't think I actually have that many dresses.

motherinferior · 21/07/2016 20:31

We're going to need a new thread title soon!

Summertime and the living is crepey?

Summertime and the crepeys are easy?

Crepeytime and the living is easy?

Blackduck · 21/07/2016 20:53

Middle one..

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/07/2016 21:11

Middle one. Then, for autumn can we have "Someone left the crepe out in the rain"?

Cremolafoam · 21/07/2016 21:43

Dh came up with Crepe Bondage. Grin

CointreauVersial · 21/07/2016 21:51

Oh, stop it, you guys!

I'm only wearing dresses this week because they are less sweaty in the office. Although today I am wearing a rather fetching Hobbs number I snagged on eBay. It's quite a laugh photographing my outfits, with my face neatly obscured by my tablet, but don't worry, I shan't be starting a fash blog any time soon.

And I have become quite addicted to those little boxes of beauty goodies. I blame M&S. Blush

Hi Magi, welcome back, glad you enjoyed your PFGD time.

Cream crackered today, after a hectic day at work (loads of IT issues...ah, the shape of things to come) and lots of rushing about this afternoon. It's quite lonely without DH! I cooked tea for the DCs, then put together a salad for myself, sat down with them, and...whoosh...they all cleared off, leaving me on my ownsome. Funnily enough, none of them reappeared to help clear up. But one piece of good news - DD1 is now officially signed off by the orthodontist, Grin although she has to keep wearing her retainer at night until she is 21. I'm back there again with DD2 (third time in a week) to get her retainer fitted, so she's a year behind.

And I've ordered a new phone - hoorah! Mine doesn't even ring any more, just groans gently. The camera doesn't work, and it randomly switches off at important moments.

motherinferior · 21/07/2016 22:05

I know how it feels, CV.

Made the mistake of asking DP if a couple of my characters should shag or just yearn for each other. I don't think he understands the concept of romantic tensionWink.

Collymollypuff · 21/07/2016 22:20

Oh, yes to the middle one. And MrsS's autumn one. Sorry I'm not on here much - by some miracle, I appear to have loosed the bonds of Mumsnet and broken the addiction. Perhaps. But I catch up as much as I can. Smile

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/07/2016 22:42

I am not sure that yearning is much fun.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/07/2016 22:43

I have had no alcohol since Monday. My liver is smiling gently.

Blackduck · 22/07/2016 07:01

I've had your share MrsS......

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/07/2016 08:08

Sadly I don't feel any better for it. I am still full of snot and cold and sore throat.

addle · 22/07/2016 08:14

Thank you fr nice graduation comments here and on fb. Was lovely, tear inducing day with Sheffield and Dd looking their considerable loveliest. On way to work feeling vvv nervous as had to leave number of tasks incomplete due to circs beyond my control and fear the worst.
Bd hope it's just a blip w yr dm.
Cv v much enjoy that thread. Nice to see real people looking good in real clothes

bigTillyMint · 22/07/2016 08:45

Aww Addle, glad it was a lovely occasion.

Nice catch up with friends last night and no hangover this morning, which is just as well as I have promised to take DS shopping at Westfield as he has literally no clothes that fit him. Again.

magimedi · 22/07/2016 08:48

Can any of you recommend a dermatologist in the SE/London?

DH has a large patch of ecxma type sore on his right hip. He's had it for ages & the local clinic is a) baffled B) bad with appointments & it is sore & not getting better. He's had a couple of biopsies (sp?) & nothing has been found but it is becoming a real trial & he has (after some nagging) decided to go privately to try to get this sorted.

MrsSchadenfreude · 22/07/2016 08:54

I have Oxford recommendations for my Mum from my dermatologist but they are all melanoma specialists so not sure that will help.

Blackduck · 22/07/2016 08:56

Thanks all re wishes for dmum. Frankly I don't know if this is a blip or the beginning of the end. Not swallowing, not eating or drinking...... but all her vital signs are spot on. It's either the dementia or she has given up, or both.
