New thread!

Title can refer either to our upcoming holidays, or our upcoming fleeing from the Bojo-led charabanc of doom.

MI, do you have heat stroke Grin?? That skirt is frummer than a frum thing - you would need all the things Mrs S lists to go with - and a wig - that's how frum it is...

I thought I was going to melt into a puddle at various points throughout the day today - or spontaneously combust - or both. I find being this hot completely knackering - and have all sorts of things I have to do / sort out in the next week or so.

Very Envy of all the pool pics and the glamorous toes - mine are dark denim blue - with quite a lot of it peeled off - don't recommend that as a good look.

Mrs S - you sound very low key about your exploits - are you really OK? The thought of having had to contend with a hangover today makes me want to die. Hope you're alright Mrs.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2016 20:45

I am fine, but still feeling rough. No juicy gossip, sorry. Will try and do better next time.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 19/07/2016 22:11

Glad you're all in one piece Mrs S. I'm relieved (for you) at absence of juicy gossip. X

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2016 22:43

Just caught up on the thread and LOL at the number of us who called the skirt "frum", MI. I erred on the frum side when I lived in Israel, with regard to skirt length and sleeves, when I was working, but liked to think I looked more stylish hippy than West Bank Religious Loon.

Blackduck · 20/07/2016 08:07

MrsS DBro is in the bottom 10% too, despite the fact his 360s are exceptional...... System is rubbish - and does not encourage improvement but the exact opposite.....

Lalsy · 20/07/2016 10:06

Wotcha crepes! At gatwick waiting for flight to Spain. The family stuff has turned out much better than expected and has actuallyhelped me get my memories in a more positive order. Dc and dh all fab.

Herbs and BD, strength to you both, you are doing a wonderful job and crem is right, herbs.

And crepey congrats to mini addle and hatty. And good luck to dd1 hatty.

Mrss, seems to me he has put you in very difficult position. Hope you are okay.

Rose, enjoy not going anywhere.

Rosebag · 20/07/2016 10:23

That makes me chuckle MrsS since except for when I was at school there, ( which was a religious school) I wore cutoff denims and a vest....unless I was in a certain quarter of Jerusalem where I would have had stones thrown at me at worst. Or at best people running towards me with scarves and rags to cover me up. Grin I do some times feel a bit Angry about the long skirt and its frum connotation as it used to look quite stylish with a heel or platforms until it became the frum uniform. And it covered a multitude of sins.

Now then mrsS after all those cryptic posts....no juice???? Aw...c'mon...Grin

Am round the pool again with DD. (Sorry CV) DH and DS have gone to see the Queen studios nearby. I am tired as always seems to happen towards the latter end of our trips...and DH is snoring at night. Angry

BD how is DM and DDad? herbs are you ok? cremo are you in Paris? addle hope the graduation is lovely. Soz about the car. We seem to drive less and less where one can take the train....

Rosebag · 20/07/2016 10:24

X post lalsy ! Safe and happy trip xx

herbaceous · 20/07/2016 10:53

I'm ok. Very tired, and constantly about to cry. But Alice. Have just been to lovely school where I volunteer, where everyone was so nice to me it almost set me off.

DP is away, and usually I love it, but feeling lonely at the mo. DS is having his first sleepover tomorrow night, so I could go out on the lash! But no one is available. Yet.

OK, Crepeys...as ever, but even more so, the inmates of the Inferiority Complex have done sweet FA about going on holiday. DP is off with the Inferiorettes for a week of hippy t'ai chi in Ireland but ahem we do fancy some sun. As ever, not much dosh in circulation. Where shall we go?????

NB am wearing jeans chopped to knee length (folded over) and a creamy hippyish long cotton top (white stuff via the chazzer) today, which I hope is suitably nonfrummy.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/07/2016 10:59

No juice at all, sorry. And it was a select few rather than the whole department, so not many witnesses but more than enough. He seems to be doing a good job of compartmentalising stuff, anyway.

MrsSchadenfreude · 20/07/2016 11:03

I was also up at 4 to collect DD1, so still not feeling my best.

MI, where do you fancy going? I'm afraid I am a fan of the package holiday as it takes all the stress out of it. Am thinking of going away with DD2 for the first week of September but we can't really afford it

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2016 11:25

MI, Greece/Turkey/Tunisia, etc might be cheaper than usual? I can recommend all!

We are clearing, cleaning and tidying before our staff BBQ. But where has the sun gone?

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2016 11:33

Package to Portugal MI? Direct flights to Faro and an air b&b on the coast?
Cheap flight to Bilbao for a bit of cultcha and a week on the beach at San Sebastien?
Flight to Nice , ferry to Corsica: Toprural cottage in a mountain village?
Croatia, Easijet Holidays. Com hotel in Cavtat and flights combined?

My Kibbutz outfit consisted of a tiered denim floor length skirt which I frequently hitched up between my legs to form a sort of nappy. And a cheescloth top from the market and an headscarf of most unflattering design. And pink/red sunburn because of not having suitable sunscreen in 1983. I looked repentant but yet was a simmering mas of hormones.Blush

motherinferior · 20/07/2016 11:49

Ah. Now. Is it worth really getting to grips with air b&b?

Rosebag · 20/07/2016 11:52

I have to suggest here for beauty and non crowded pool. But stupid prices....

The Crepe Escape
Rosebag · 20/07/2016 11:52

Otherwise would second Corsica

bigTillyMint · 20/07/2016 11:53

MI, there are some lovely places on Air b&b. But if you want to be pampered and no cooking you want a hotel!

Blackduck · 20/07/2016 12:01

Quite surprised at how cheap a week in Greece with Thomson is.....

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2016 12:28

Ime very much worth it with air B&b, but my advice would be to research carefully. And check the host has decent ratings. But we like the independence of having a space to brew coffee and sit in an armchair .
For max relax id second a hotel with a pool, where you don't have to move for a week.

motherinferior · 20/07/2016 12:49

I don't particularly want pampering, and cooking isn't so much of an issue - remember, I don't do more than my fair share of it in any case Grin

Blackduck · 20/07/2016 13:15

Greece - cheap rooms/pool/beach....

Rosebag · 20/07/2016 13:32

www.corsica.co.uk/maisons-bervily as recommended to Herbs recently. Loved it there. Appartements and a private pool but only a few minutes walk from the beach and the town. There are direct flights or you can get the ferry from the south of France.

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2016 14:19

Rose, that looks divine.Smile

Cremolafoam · 20/07/2016 14:22

this is available from 20th Aug for a week
