Don't swear at us - talk to us! Are you OK Mrs S?

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2016 00:15

Home.

Bit of a messy evening. But got kiss goodbye. Dept was all like, WTF? As was properkiss goodbye in front of them all. Deffo not peck on the cheek which would have gone unnoticed. Full on kiss on the lips. And only for me, not for anyone else, who got a perfunctory wave. Work friend asked "Is there anything you want/need to tell me?" Just said no, and blamed drink. Lust still there appaz. With beer goggles anyway.

Blackduck · 19/07/2016 06:56

Oh MrsS is that going to make things erm difficult today?

hattymattie · 19/07/2016 07:44

Giddy and Monty - thanks for tights advice - off to buy a today.

Mrs S - hope there are not too many Blush at work today. Hope you're not too hung over either.

Looks like another scorcher.

MrsSchadenfreude · 19/07/2016 07:50

Want to die. Ow my head.

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2016 07:53

MrsSGrin
I was going to say Be Careful! But it's a bit late now.

BD how are you? And your DM and DDad?

Herbs, how's your freezer sitch?

Blackduck · 19/07/2016 08:14

Oh MrsS - so glad I'm not in your head.
Dad is very stressed. Off to see mum today. I will be going back up tomorrow depending on how things are as my team are on leave and we are short handed.

motherinferior · 19/07/2016 08:36

Morning all. I am up, in slightly languid fashion, which I'm quite impressed about.Smile

motherinferior · 19/07/2016 08:37

MrsS, the Blushwill at least be shared.

BeachysSandyFlipFlops · 19/07/2016 09:00

On a Monday, Mrs S? I'm impressed.

I was goi g to second, third, fourth tight for City law firm. My nephew was very soundly told off for brown shoes with a suit....

hattymattie · 19/07/2016 09:42

She'd have been fine if it had been cooler - I'd bought her a fab suit in the Jan sales - we just didn't expect 30°C. She's doing online logic tests at the moment. Apparently the maths one was really hard (she said the practice one was easy) and then the real one a nightmare). She's now doing one where you have to put weird shapes together.

addle · 19/07/2016 09:52

good luck to her hattie. i was going to fifth the tights business but see it's been unanimous

ouch mrs s, hope you doing ok

languid is good, mi. hard to see how you could be anything else in this heat

don't have anything wise to add to the good and feeling advice on this thread but i am thinking of you all with parents, grief and so much else going on

driving to sheffield with dh and ds for dd's graduation. gulp. not the best driver and dh doesn't enjoy being a passenger although tries hard. will be lovely to celebrate her though. what is the etiquette? feel should be dressed v m of bride but am not going to. settling for work outfit

leaving all sorts of unresolved issues at work and am worrying but is stuff I couldn't sort in time ...

pressing issue is catching fleabag of a cat before we go so that we can treat her before the next generation of fleas hits town

MontserratCaballe · 19/07/2016 10:34

Very quickly - the law firm will be air conned to the gills so she will be fine hosiery wise whilst there. It's just the to-ing and fro-ing to watch out for.

Congratulations to DD, Addle - am guessing mother of the bride / suit is appropriate, but don't really know. Formal, innit.

Hope everyone is Ok - Herbs, BD, MI, Crem, MrsS.

motherinferior · 19/07/2016 10:41

Put tights on in the loos, remove ditto?

Mind you in this weather I find a frock and a bra sufficient clothing. One needs, to quote the divine Mr Pratchett's Nanny Ogg, to let the air circulate Wink.

Blackduck · 19/07/2016 10:49

It is scorching - this kind of heat is only really bearable if there's a pool within two paces of ones seat....

Mum not great, but apparently better than yesterday. Very chesty, and a bit vacant, but recognized me. More worried about dad who if he doesn't get himself run over (don't ask) will give himself a heart attack....

NUFC69 · 19/07/2016 11:00

I don't think this is quite what you had in mind, BD, but DGD2 is enjoying it, and it's about a yard from my feet.

Can't post anything else as need to watch her.

Blackduck · 19/07/2016 11:22

NU I'd take that at the moment!

Rosebag · 19/07/2016 11:42

I'll see you the paddling pool and raise you this NU Grin

The Crepe Escape
bigTillyMint · 19/07/2016 11:48

Enjoy, Addle - I'm sure you will look lovely whatever you wear.

BD, how worrying re your DDad.

Scorchio - at least it's the DCs last day!

herbaceous · 19/07/2016 11:49

Ooh, I'm torn. Do I get the paddling pool out today? It will be a poor set-up:enjoy ratio, as it will take approx an hour to blow up, another hour to fill, and he'll be in it for about 30 minutes.

bigTillyMint · 19/07/2016 11:51

Get it out now Herbs and have a splash yourself Grin

herbaceous · 19/07/2016 11:59

It may help reduce my ankles from 'Hindenburg' to 'Mr Blobby'.

Rosebag · 19/07/2016 12:06

So sorry to hear what you're going through with DParents, broken freezers and well meaning but sanctimonious friends , bd herbs and that crem is feeling lousy. And mrsS ...what are you going to do about this ? A full on smacker in public speaks volumes...Life is never dull with mrsS !

hatty good luck to dd1 I'm sure the advice re tights is sound from Crepey lawyers. The "cool" ones from M&S are really good in the heat actually. And lovely news re dd2 and her uni choice. You must be so relieved and happy Star

beachy how's the cough? Are you suitable chilled with good book, nice French food and wine?

addle congratulations to you all on DDs graduation. I wore a nice dress to ds1's but I wouldn't have called it MOB though. I guess it all depends on how you want to look in the photos. Have a splendid day X

monty well done on the lady jogging etc. Remember you are glam. I am feeling large. The Swiss seem very svelt somehow...my floaty poolside kaftan is getting a lot of use.

I have got to where I always get to eventually on Rose Clan holidays where I have a tantrum ending with a day or two round the pool. DH is always planning his next excursion. I am heartily fed up of holidays with people who see a sunbed and a nice pool with a good book, cold drinks etc as A Waste of Time....
Love to you all from French speaking CH xx

Cremolafoam · 19/07/2016 12:09

Get out the Supersoakers everyone. It's so hot! Blush

Cremolafoam · 19/07/2016 12:18

Hi Rose, clan holidays always sound a little grim to me. Dsis does them en famille ( extended) also and comes back needing a holiday.

Herbs, sorry you ate having to micro-manage the whole shebang with dps. As long as the help button is working , you have achieved . I don't have an enormous amount of sympathy for Skyping lady, but , what Mi said. Blame it on the broadband. Freezer contents shouldn't be refrozen if they've been defrosted for over an hour. Crap about loosing all the stuff, but better that than ending up with vomitous dps and Skype-lady on the phone blaming it all on you.
You are being brilliant btw.Flowers
