I am on way down to London. Looks like DMum has another infection - not looking jolly and ddad is crumbling.

In a Shock moment my administrators family are going to issue an injunction against another bit of the family to stop her uncle being cremated - apparently he HAS to be buried! Just when you thought your own family was a bit bonkers.....

Herbs glad TT have pulled their finger out and yes to stern email. Honestly sometimes people need to help or butt out....

motherinferior · 18/07/2016 15:47

Oh BDFlowers

I am mostly asleep today.

MontserratCaballe · 18/07/2016 16:02

Sending love to you, BD.

MI, glad you have got some sleep in.

Herbs, you are a genius re talk talk. Glad it is being sorted.

Crem, sorry you feel low. How long til holiday? Thinking of you.

In S and B news, I am now officially too large for most of my wardrobe so am on a diet and exercise regime. I conducted my first ladyjog since my dad died this morning then came home and did a HIIT workout on YouTube. Was puce for about 2 hours afterwards and my sports bra has left attractive red marks on my burgeoning back. Serves me right alas. But I will get there Smile. I have a dress I would like to wear to Crem's lovely party do that is something to aim for.

bigTillyMint · 18/07/2016 16:26

Oh no BDSad

Yay to your engineer, Herbs!

Hope you've had a restorative rest, MI.

I have come home to DD and a friend and an empty bottle of Mateus roseConfused

motherinferior · 18/07/2016 16:38

Just the one, BTM? Hmmm.

DD2 has gone into town (Pokémon-related) with "a guy from Y9". But you go to an all-girls' school, I nearly said. Then I channelled Cremo and was Interested And Sympathetic.

Telephone works, but the bloody fucking bastarding internet doesn't. Well, only intermittently. Mum wouldn't care, but carers seem to expect hot and cold running wifi.

Mum's Interfering Friend is in fact very helpful, and takes her to hospital appointments etc, but is v strident. I think you're right about projection - she looked after her ailing mother, and now all her children live in Australia so she can't expect the same in return, which must be galling. Wise crepeys to the rescue once again.

Love and strength to you BD. Let's lean on each others' shoulders.

And now the freezer has broken, so nothing is frozen. We've got to chuck away £££££s-worth of food. And DP is going to Frankfurt for a few days, and I feel all wobbly and like I don't want to be alone. I need to bloody well Buck Up.

Blackduck · 18/07/2016 17:20

At home. Ddad is back and looks dreadful. Dr can't really find anything wrong. Ddad thinks she's given up and is dying. It's ripping him apart.

Herbs the carers can live without wifi - they are not there to surf the web.....

herbaceous · 18/07/2016 17:27

Sad Oh BD.

Is mum in hospital?

bigTillyMint · 18/07/2016 17:31

Oh BD Sad Flowers If you are still here and needing a shoulder, I finish on Weds.

Herbs, your freezer? Boo. Can any friends/neighbours help out? I'm not surprised you are feeling wobbly. You have a lot on your plate right now. Wifi is the least of your worries - tell them they should be working not surfing the net!

hattymattie · 18/07/2016 17:33

Have arrived back in Paris after a lovely week in Provence and a couple of internet free days chez the beaux parents in Savoie.

BD - sorry to hear about your DM and complications re DS and friends.

We had some good news here today, DD2 has been accepted by her first choice uni - after she wrote them a nice letter (and her teacher did as well). This has changed everything round and relieved the stress of having to wait another entire month.

DD1 has a law interview in London on Thursday - she is wondering if she has to wear tights or if bare legs are permissible. It would be brilliant if she could catch a break. It seems to be enormously competive.

Crem - are you in Paris? - fancy lunchtime drinks? Don't worry if you''re too busy - I'm around this week though (although tomorrow might be a bit of a stretch).

motherinferior · 18/07/2016 17:36

Herbs, have you opened the freezer or can someone be called? And yes, bugger the wifi.

BD, I am so sorry.

motherinferior · 18/07/2016 17:40

oh, Hattie, major hurrahs.

Actually Herbs, I would absolutely leave the wifi issue. Just tell them it doesn't always work brilliantly, and leave it at that.

Blackduck · 18/07/2016 17:42

No still at the home. They can't really find anything (aside from the infection) wrong with her. She just goes vacant and won't talk and doesn't look great.

Hatty that is great news and such a relief.

Things seem to have settled with ds so I'm living in hope it's all blown over. Roll on the end of term which will hopefully give them all time to calm down and get things in perspective.

bigTillyMint · 18/07/2016 17:49

Hatty, that's great newsWine Flowers Good Luck to DD1. I have no idea about bare legs I'm afraid, but I'm sure there would be plenty of MNers in the know.

Glad to hear your DS is a bit happier. Does he finish tomorrow or Wed?

DS spent "Activities Day" on the footy fields, but had put suncream onShock so he isn't completely beetroot. He looks a bit knackered, but has just watered the gardenSmile

herbaceous · 18/07/2016 18:04

Internet is now mended, after carer actually sorted it herself. She has the motivation - she uses it to Skype with her hubby in South Africa. Freezer has been saying it's too warm (via its display) for about a week now, and now everything in there is a bit soft.

OP posts:
MontserratCaballe · 18/07/2016 18:15

BD, so sorry. Flowers

Herbs, can I recommend chucking the contents of the freezer sooner rather than later if it's going soft? Our freezer broke in April and I didn't realise for a couple of weeks when we were away. The stench was intolerable as everything defrosted then rotted in its sweaty box.

Hatty, I would wear tights - or maybe stockings as cooler - for interview inself, even if she puts them on in Costa before and whips them off straight afterwards! Lots of lawyers still v traditional. Wishing her the best of luck. And huge well done to dd2. That's lovely news.

motherinferior · 18/07/2016 19:23

Though whipping off stockings during interview is probably not a very good idea.

I have propped myself at the desk to write something and then cracked a chunk of my novel, which is most pleasing. Have rewritten the first 22,500 words. Much more gripping. Unfortunately this means adding in a whole new story, which requires Thinking.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/07/2016 19:47

Drunk a nd in lust. Not a good combination.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 18/07/2016 20:43

Ex lawyer here... Yes to tights Hatty - thin denier naturalish ones would be fine, but not bare legs - or trouser suit / smart trousers and some sort of jacket fine too (and no need for tights). Fingers crossed for her.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 18/07/2016 20:44

What's that Mrs S??

Can only hope you're not referring to the boss who was being distinctly twattish to you the other day - or is that someone different?? far too hot for lust imo!

Blackduck · 18/07/2016 20:50

MrsS - It's too Darn Hot :)

Dinner with dad who keeps crying. This is hard work.

MrsSchadenfreude · 18/07/2016 20:59

Blackduck · 18/07/2016 21:11
