I hope I have remembered the chosen title correctly - I have used Crem's title (think it was Crem's) as the old thread is full.

Herbs - will be fab to have lots of time en famille in the summer but eek re new job on horizon.

Inspired by CV and Rose I have put 10 things on Ebay. They range from size 10 to 16. WTF.

MI - hope things have gone smoothly and relatively untraumatically today.

Herbs - well done on working with your sister - the tax stuff sounds scary.

Here - it is June chilly and overcast- the river is alarmingly high and large tracts of land are flooded. I am glad I live on top of a hill. I have put my winter boots back on.

Tomorrow, I am once again dealing with the norty 9 year olds in the absence of the teacher. They are pretty good except for one boy who thinks as I'm the TA and not the teacher he can make my life difficult.

Today we separated the 8 year olds into boys and girls tables. The two tables of boys worked superbly and calmly (even the ones who are normally a bit cheeky). The girls chattered and were generally silly. Very interesting indeed. I'm going to rejig the girls and keep the boys separate - will report back.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/06/2016 19:00

I am sitting on a terrace, it is 9.00 at night, the sun is blazing and it is scorchio. I could live here, but the window terms might be a bit tough. And the language is incomprehensible.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/06/2016 19:00

Oh and I also have wine.

addle · 02/06/2016 19:08

Crepeys, Lalsy and I are hitting the NPG as it opens tomorrow to catch up with the Russians ... Just in case anyone else fancies it.

Hatty, it's grey and freezing here. At this rate I'll only be out of furry boots and bed socks fr a long weekend in 2016

Herbs sounds as though you and dsis doing wonderful job. I got great accountant fr my dad - friend Ild lost touch with but she was v good and he really liked the way she wrote. Can pm if helpful.

MrsSchadenfreude · 02/06/2016 19:48

Boo, I am not back till the weekend!

bigTillyMint · 02/06/2016 19:57

Hatty, I once had a class of 22 boys and 6 girls which I loved! I also have predominantly boys now - great when you can appeal to their interests and ways of workingGrin
Oh and I'm sure you can show that 9yo who's bossWink

Tomorrow I am doing DC's jabs for our summer holsHmm.

hattymattie · 02/06/2016 20:07

I'll try my Paddington stare BTMGrin

They're shutting the Louvre and Orsay tomorrow to move artworks upstairs in case of flooding.

Collymollypuff · 02/06/2016 20:14

Addle, with any luck I'll be on top of a hill in Glos. Or not, if I don't make it...I might be crying halfway up/down. But enjoy!

Lalsy · 02/06/2016 20:28

MI, hope all went well today.Flowers

Molly, gooooooo!

Shock at flooding.

ds revising here too, aided by vast biscuit supply.

herbaceous · 02/06/2016 20:41

Funny what sets one off. Just doing the washing up and came across a really nostalgic dish. Couldn't stop crying.

Now hiding in the kitchen so parents don't see my eyes. How roles change.

Lalsy · 02/06/2016 20:53

Oh Herbs, so sad.

And Magi, I think you are quite right about next week. It means so much that you were there near the end.

Blackduck · 02/06/2016 21:04

I have wine and bifold doors (see FB). But it's not so warm....

GiddyGiddyGoat · 02/06/2016 21:30

"not so warm" = massive understatement BD. It was feeeeezing cold in London today. I had jumper, thick tights and winter coat on... which was just about OK - but there were moments I wished I'd added a scarf. Madness.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 02/06/2016 21:32

Just got back from v nice outing for dinner with dh and ds2 - belated birthday treat and half term jolly - and so I didn't have to slave in the kitchen after all. had two (ii, 2) smallish glasses of delicious red wine and a blood orange and cardamom grappa instead of pudding - wow!

addle · 02/06/2016 21:38

Molly, enjoy the hill!

MM, another one here thinking you did what was impt and shld feel fine to go away next week

Oh Herbs. Xx

Just had text from dd to say she's finished her degree, is ver' drunk and loves me. Sniff

Mrs S abd whoever else recommended the nuxe oil - thk you, it's lovely

motherinferior · 02/06/2016 22:28

So....all done. It went well. A good send-off. But I still feel very complicated. And despite everything, in my mind she is still there to get annoyed about...

Cremo · 02/06/2016 22:30

I have bifold doors and am home from WORK!!! Argh. Had 10 minutes of sun all day and it's been a fabulous summers day. What a blardy waste.

Oh Herbs < puts steadying hand on arm> you poor sod. It's so difficult.but you've been incredible with dsis getting organised an being there for the Dps. Sad Try not to think about the future , if you can.

Stropperella · 02/06/2016 22:39

addle, what, dd is finished already? Surely she only started about 2 mins ago? Where does the time go...

Herbs Flowers Flowers :(

GGG, well done on all those presentations. Just thinking about giving even one makes me come over all peculiar. Good luck to both your offspring.

MI, I have been thinking about you today and hoping that things went as well as these things ever can.

CV, hope you get a new and improved job title and the increase in salary to go with it.

BTM, so sorry to hear that the visit with dm was so fraught. Hope things are calm and orderly back at home?!?

MM, it is good that your dh's aunt went peacefully in her sleep. Enjoy your trip!

I had to go into work today, leaving all other occupants of the house snoring in bed. Lovely HoD is back from being off for a whole half term and looks better than she was, but is still not properly better. I continue to be frustrated, annoyed and appalled by certain issues at work, but these are not to do with the people I work with or the pupils, or the available resources, which are all great.

BD, bloody lovely view. Celebrate those doors, missus Grin

Soz peebs that I have not name-checked. I am reading everyone and trying to keep up, honest.

Stropperella · 02/06/2016 22:41

x-posts MI and Crem.

MI, my dad will have been gone 11 years in December and I am still frequently annoyed by him. Glad you have survived today. Feeling complicated is normal. Well, it is in my book, at least.

Cremo · 02/06/2016 22:51

MI, it iscomplicated, and it may take a long time to Or whatever it's called. Well done for getting through the day, and I'm glad that the it passed off well.

Hatty I am aghast. All the while we are watching Versailles and the sex-obsessed fabulousness of France , and it seems to be falling apart! Flood! Strikes! Shortages! Is Euro 2016 my holiday doomed ?

Stropperella · 02/06/2016 22:53

Crem, it is all my fault. I have booked a holiday in France. It is getting ready for me. There will probably be a plague of locusts when I am there. Or maybe frogs.

Stropperella · 02/06/2016 22:54

ps: Crem, pls will you apply for that job that is surely yours already with the Irish tourist board??

Cremo · 02/06/2016 23:05
Grin In actual fact the tourist board have a vair large share in the New Order, so in fact I already sort of do. But that would be NI one, not the one relating to the county of Cork or the other 25 counties. Still, I'll talk blarney to anyone who'll listen, and oven do. Must go to bed,,so I can wake up tomorrow and do it all again [vom]
Stropperella · 02/06/2016 23:17

Crem, pls can you use yr talents to convince my dh that we need a trip to NI? I have long wanted to visit the Giant's Causeway and ds has a yearning to go there too.

CointreauVersial · 02/06/2016 23:57

DH and I had a lovely holiday in NI, just after the GF Agreement (and pre-DCs). Despite having been brought up 30 miles from the border he'd barely been there, apart from the annual Christmas shopping trip to Enniskillen. Giant's Causeway was fabulous, as was the nearby Bushmills Distillery (we had to sleep off the whiskey in the car park Blush). The main issue back then was the complete lack of "tourist" infrastructure - B&Bs were quite hard to find. I'm sure it's tons better now.

MI - glad it went well, not surprising you feel out of sorts. Take care.
