Welcome to week THREE everyone. Have you completely given up and lost your motivation yet?

This is about feeling better about yourself...not necessarily a diet per se etc etc

The Rules:

  • Sunscreen at all times. I know it's winter, there are still rays trying to damage your skin
  • No or little booze. The odd glass of wine at the weekend is allowed if you want it
  • Walking is important, a small amount every day if possible. 30 mins if you can, I am booking out lunch hours where possible to do this
  • Lots of water, aim for 2 litres a day
  • Apply body cream as often as possible. I am doing my heels daily too as they're lizard like
  • Use hand cream
  • Go to bed early, by 10.30pm if pos
  • Eat healthily
  • Be happy

The idea is that at the end of six weeks we all feel happier, healthier and glow with the good food, sleep, exercise, water and lack of sun damage.

You don't have to report back every day but I almost certainly will as it motivates me thinking someone is watching me.

Welcome all members old and new.

If you want some pleasurable homework, read this, St India of Knight and Polly Vernon talking about weight

i know, I know, feel suitably chastised. But I'd been driving for almost 3 hours and was starving and needed a wee. I felt bloated and vile afterwards, if that's any comfort

Spots are back, so will be tough with myself this week, I promise.

www, there's an article by India Knight and Nerys Thomas about their book and diet in February's Sainsburys Magazine.

It has the before and after pictures. Dh reckons they're pushing out their stomachs in the before picture and holding them in for the after picture. Men, what do they know?

The article also tells what the diet is, having never been on a diet before I might give this one a go, starting tomorrow.

Food today? Good at breakfast and lunch, will be ok at dinner but am having a glass of red wine and did have a (last) tiny bit of chocolate cake.

Monkeytrousers - sorry to hear about the funding. That sucks!

Winnie, .

Hope things look up soon for both of you.

Today was good for me, except I forgot the handcream again. I'm still not sold on the suncream in winter thing; hope that's not a sackable offence. Thanks for the info though, www. I had my teeth bleached years ago - would definitely recommend that (I say that not knowing the state of your teeth, but it worked well for me). Mine aren't horrible again yet, but I've invested in this a while back because they're not great.

Love the "be nice to yourself" feel of this thread - the general lack of food fascism and associated tediousness is fab.

OK for supper I had some more lentils and a bowl of leftover salad with a hard boiled egg. So on the food front today's been ok.

Right, tomorrow is WEEK FOUR! SO I will start another thread tonight or tomorrow morning.
