Come and chat about fashion, make up and anything glittery and frivolous. We'll take your bad hair day seriously and you never have to apologise for a new bag Grin

And if you happen to know where I can find comfortable but stylish trainers in kakhi or dark brown you are particularly welcome (Blatant abuse of thread setting up privileges) Wink

Meant to say - does anyone have a J Crew code please?

shopafrolic · 19/04/2016 11:01

Link fail this tee

BerniceBobsHerHair · 19/04/2016 12:02

Hello all

A bit overwhelmed with all I need to catch up on. So apologies to anyone I miss.

Welcome back to the holidaying and travelling voguettes.

Blair when are you going on your holiday?

Mara love the pic of the bags - what do they fit inside? I would have thought that you could get away with a tiny clutch if you are just using it for going out? With the tan bag I would want to be able to put the holy trinity of wallet, keys and phone in. I do like to travel light though.

I was a bit Shock at you Amber needing 5 pairs of shoes to go away 24 hours! - I am the opposite in that I like to pack as light as possible and get annoyed if I pack something which I later don't end up using. As you can imagine, I do like to take my time to pack in order to go as minimal as possible!

Linus I could see you in the Marks x Alexa dress you linked - and worn with your new IM trainers. I am strangely drawn to this dress but I think it would look totally frumpy on me rather than 'ironic' Grin.

Like your new top Topaz - did you order something in this daisy print? I love the print so have ordered the top to try.

I've also ordered this feather tee as it's for charity and I can't resist that sort of thing.

Lib have you worn your Hush jumpsuit yet?

Shop I hope you feel better soon. Is DF still in hospital?

BerniceBobsHerHair · 19/04/2016 12:10

Oh I meant to ask - does anyone know what happened to all worn out blog??

Shop just tried THANKME and that worked for 20% off at JCrew.

Does anyone want/need a ME+EM code 25% off £100 spend. If you so just ask.

Bernice I love that daisy print, very pretty.

shopafrolic · 19/04/2016 13:03

Thanks Kitty :)

shopafrolic · 19/04/2016 16:08

I've waited months and months for this to be reduced - it's never going to happen so I've ordered.

QueenC · 19/04/2016 17:44

amber have you started blogging again? Ive just got about 6 emails with the same new blog post Grin
bernice awo had a technical hitch I think and as it's just eve nowadays, she said on IG that it feels like a natural end. That was one of the blogs I still read.
shop nice tee.
bernice I love daisy print and if there was a style that would suit me in it I would have bought it.
topaz love that new top.

Ootd is jeans and Uniqlo navy blouse. I don't wear this blouse often for some reason but when I do I love it. I seem to have defaulted to jeans for work at the moment as trousers are too tricky until i can do bare feet. Also I,'m going to start cycling to work so jeans will be best.

LinusLovesBretons · 19/04/2016 19:07

That's a shame queenc as, even though Eve's style was not remotely suitable for my height and bodyshape, I liked reading the blog as it seemed one of the only genuine ones left.

shop great tee! Hope you're feeling better.

I've also recently bought a Lumea as I want to use it on my bikini line and armpits but have yet to try it. Does it hurt?

I am very happy with the results of my laser hair removal on my legs so far, but boy does it hurt. Would never do it on more, ahem, sensitive zones.

mara I agree with pps, if neither bag makes your heart skip a beat return them and put the money towards a bag you really love.

Wore my trainers again today, the more I wear them, the more I love them. Smile

I feel like I've forgotten something or someone ....

shopafrolic · 19/04/2016 19:12

The most sensitive area has been underarms Linus but only in that the skin is thinner so you feel the heat a bit more. But it has also been the quickest to respond so short term pain for quick results.

LinusLovesBretons · 19/04/2016 19:40

Mmm, better have a few glasses beforehand then shop

Clueless is on Film 4! Very silly film but pure nostalgia.

AmberNectarine · 19/04/2016 20:18

Sorry Queenc - I was playing about on polyvore and didn't realise it was linked to the blog - have deleted now!

Stokey · 19/04/2016 21:02

Great tee Shop

Did anyone see the article in The Guardian today about the DHL t-shirt becoming high fashion? Bonkers

libertydoddle · 20/04/2016 08:08

Hmm at the DHL T. I know I am getting old when my thought is a deeply cyncical reaction. Making lots of money by taking the piss. I also hate the fashion snobbery of it. I'd hazard a guess that not one of the people buying it have ever done a working class job like a courier driver. It's just obnoxious.

OP posts:
shopafrolic · 20/04/2016 10:42

Not sure it has anything to do with getting old Lib - it's just a really wanky piss taking snobby non-ironic thing to do

Morning all :)

LinusLovesBretons · 20/04/2016 11:19

My Outnet Current/Elliott jeans arrived and they are perfect.

Perfect fit, perfect dark wash and super soft. Not taking them off for the rest of the day. Grin

shopafrolic · 20/04/2016 13:21

Link Linus? I am just going through all my denim and weeping as I get rid of a pair of size 30 Paige jeans Grin

shopafrolic · 20/04/2016 13:36

Weeping is the wrong word - just gutted they are too big now as I loved them so

maradesbois · 20/04/2016 13:39

Hello,

Have listened to your voices of reason and sent both bags back. Little bit of regret for the lemon print but they were both just too small. I wasted over an hour online yesterday researching the Georgia as it is a perfect bag for me, just need a few more cm. There is a bigger size but could only find it in black at harrods. This bag dilemma is occupying much more of my time than the report that is due in next week.

Linus love my fling jeans too. Glad they are keepers.

Stokey I like the vetements designer and his ideas but his dhl thing lost its potential for subversion before it even stated as he sought their permission making them in on the 'joke'. I think a high fashion label is not best placed for critiquing capitalism.

Am on a health kick. Auntie Sleep would be proud. Clean eating, day 2 of shred and only one coffee with caffeine per day. For those of you who like sour tastes linus, marsha made baked radicchio and fennel with a lemon dressing last night, dh moaned was too sour but I thought was yum.

shopafrolic · 20/04/2016 13:43

Dry I am posting Linus's dress to you today, and Lib flip flops are en route to you x

shopafrolic · 20/04/2016 13:44

You sound like the most amazing cook Mara :) Do you cook separate meals for DS or is he an adventurous eater?
Good call on the bags I think.

LinusLovesBretons · 20/04/2016 14:35

They are OOS in all sizes shop, I can't find them on The Outnet anymore. I have pinned them if you want to see them.

Your dish sounds yum mara!

The DC eat with us shop and whilst DS used to be a very picky eater a couple of years ago, he now eats most of what I cook.
Unless it's spicy but he thinks adding a pinch of pepper is already too spicy. Hmm

DD is now the picky eater but I guess that's just her age as she never used to be.

She has to try things she doesn't like once, just one spoonful and then she can leave that part of the dish aside.

Last night I made a Cottage Pie of confit of duck. Sounds waaay fancier than it is as you just buy a tin of duck leg confit, you shred the duck meat after taking it off the bone and plonk some potato puree on top in an ovenproof dish.

Just bung it in the over for 25 minutes and serve with veggies. I made peas last night. Easy Peasy. Grin

Not Clean Eating though...

maradesbois · 20/04/2016 14:37

Separate mostly Shop, he wouldn't have eaten that dish, would live on pasta pesto if he could but is pretty adventurous given a bit of encouragement.

maradesbois · 20/04/2016 14:38

That sounds lovely linus. Am feeling hungry!
