Come and chat about fashion, make up and anything glittery and frivolous. We'll take your bad hair day seriously and you never have to apologise for a new bag Grin

And if you happen to know where I can find comfortable but stylish trainers in kakhi or dark brown you are particularly welcome (Blatant abuse of thread setting up privileges) Wink

welcome home QueenC
Bon voyage Shop

No S&B news here,I need to up my outfit planning, feeling quite frumpy at the moment.

Stokey · 07/04/2016 20:56

Great buys QueenC, I can really see you in all of them. Your holiday looked fab.

Have a great trip Shop, you deserve a decent break.

Totally with you on cocktails Dry, give me a decent G&T any day or the odd martini

Spent most of the day sorting Dds summer clothes, they have more than they can possibly wear due my over generous DM.

shopafrolic · 07/04/2016 21:20

Lib I got some Ipanema flip flops from The Dressing Room in a goody bag. They are brown and gold. Supposed to be size 7 but I wore them today for my pedicure and they are too small. Will post them to you when I get back.

FedupNagging · 07/04/2016 21:53

Welcome home Queen, looks like you had a fab time and really love the Coach bag.

Enjoy your holiday Shop

Congrats on finding the perfect blazer so quickly Dry

I've also got those BR trousers in white and black and amazingly have not managed to shrink them.

Have been feeling a bit meh about clothes this week so no fashion news. Am getting my hair done tomorrow and then we're meeting friends in London on Saturday so that should do the trick!

Larastheme · 07/04/2016 22:05

I really want to know who is the married celeb dad of three, who had a threesome, its been on the trending section all day , but MNHQ keep deleting it!

libertydoddle · 07/04/2016 22:50

Lara careful. This thread will get deleted. Grin

AmberNectarine · 08/04/2016 07:48

Morning all

Felt a bit spendy yesterday so popped to Royal Exchange and picked up this. One of the mums at school was carrying it as a clutch on a night out and it looked fab.

Had impromptu night out with DH last night - fun but today. Off to the butterfly exhibit at the NHM with the sproglets today.

Lovely buys QueenC, sounds like a brilliant holiday!

Bon Voyage shop, have an awesome time!

QueenC · 08/04/2016 08:56

lara if only I was still in the US I could have found out. Bad timing!

Feeling vaguely refreshed after a semi decent nights sleep although i have developed the worst sore throat ever. Feels like swallowing broken glass. But on the bright side means I can't eat a lot which is good as ive come back 5lbs heavier!

Have a fab time shop.

BerniceBobsHerHair · 08/04/2016 09:45

Shop I missed you were off - hope you have a fab time away. Shame about the AH bag - does it work better in summer?

Welcome back QueenC sounds like you had a great time and enjoyed wearing your lovely dresses! Good shopping. I would like some cargo trousers too but can't seem to find a pair I like that also suit me.

Welcome back to the thread One

Lara I guess you could check some US sites / forums and then drop some hints to us. I've had a look at my blazer - the label says Yves Saint Laurent variations - have you heard of that? You have a geat knowledge of fashion history.

Lib thanks for your honest review of the Uniqlo dress. It arrived yesterday and while I like the shape, I wasn't so keen on the material. I would want to wear it with tights so the fact you said that wasn't an option has decided me to send it back.

How are you feeling about your autumn colours? How about wearing more of your 'autumn neutrals' if you are feeling a bit tired of going bright all the time?

QueenC · 08/04/2016 10:50

Ive been digging around on Google and Twitter suggests who it is but as far as I know they only have 2 children so I'm confused.

lib haven't read back but are you not happy with your autumn colours at the moment? I saw loads of coral stuff when shopping and was tempted by a coral cardi to replace the one I got rid of when I had my colours done. Trouble is, much as I would like one I wouldn't wear it often as I know that it wouldn't look as good as my other colour cardis.

Dc will be home soon !!

Dreamqueen · 08/04/2016 12:40

QueenC i found it on Twitter.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/04/2016 12:47

thanks bernice

my second pair of glasses have been dispatched so should be here soon, they are Ray Ban wayfarers in plain black, dp really loved them on me and tbh, he isn't usually all that enthused by that sort of thing so the fact he was speaks volumes to me!

have a lovely time Shop Thanks

queenC i always get tempted by coral as it's such a lovely spring/summer sort of colour and every time i end up giving whatever i've bought to my sister or returning it because coral looks utterly hideous on me, it seems to turn my skin green!

LinusLovesBretons · 08/04/2016 13:17

The IM trainers have arrived and are lovely but I am waiting for a proper try on to decide whether they're keepers or not.

I quickly tried them with a Paul & Joe dress I bought recently as the SA said it would look good with trainers but I am not convinced.

Then I tried them with my trusty Jimmies and they looked good but now I need to try them with skinnies and maybe another dress.

I saw some lovely cargo pants in town today but they were all khaki green or beige and those colours really don't suit me.

Anyone seen any in navy?

FedupNagging · 08/04/2016 14:53

How about these trousers from Boden Linus ?

Have just got home from having my hair done - am back to my ahem natural dark brown no sign of any grey and looks something like this style. I'm really pleased with it but it won't look anything like this once I get styling it!

I've picked up a navy lace top from The White Company with 3/4 sleeves but can't find a picture of it. It will look fab with white jeans.

Queen I also really like the Gap top you linked - I may get the pink version. Am hoping to pop into Gap next week to try on their navy blazer (and a couple in Zara) so will look out for it.

libertydoddle · 08/04/2016 16:06

QueenC I am bored with green and feel like I don't look smart enough at work in autumn colours. I am missing the ease of black and navy. Much easier to look 'pulled together' in those colours. I feel I have to work harder to look youthful / trendy in autumn colours. Not helped by the fact that I am feeling distinctly middle aged ATM. Bit fat, bit tired, bit achey etc. Need to get my hair sorted too and just cannot find the time.

OP posts:
LinusLovesBretons · 08/04/2016 16:40

Thanks fedup but I have a similar pair from Boden from last year and whilst I love wearing them, I was looking more for something like this

Something a bit more sporty and maybe pull-on so no zipper.

Forgot to say, nice clutch amber.

Larastheme · 08/04/2016 20:29

Thanks for all the search tips, its really strange as it has caused a big stir and attracted lots of attention, Confused,

bernice, I think variations is another diffusion line ,many top brands had more than one line in the 80s and 90s, I remember dior had one too, how times have changed!
Think the only two diffusion lines, , that truly managed to distinguish a separate identity and surpass its "big sister" is Miu Miu, and etoile marant.

linus how about these

Welcome back queen,

fedup, that's really Pretty,

QueenC · 08/04/2016 21:28

mint velvet, linus?

lib would you wear black or navy on the bottom? I'm sure you do look smart enough as you have some lovely clothes but it's hard when you feel not good about yourself.
one have you seen the thread about the Å·ellow converse? Theres a picture of some red velvet docs which I can totally see you in.

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 08/04/2016 23:18

I did see those boots QueenC they are similar tot he black ones I have but my black ones are plain rather than patterned, i am tempted to look for some of those red ones though, i do love a bit of velvet

FedupNagging · 09/04/2016 09:19

Morning all, it's very quiet here atm.

We're meeting friends in London this afternoon and I'm debating what to wear. I thought
Winter white jeans tucked into flat back knee length boots with black silk shirt and black cropped jumper over the top which I'll take off in the restaurant which I think is quite smart. We'll probably do a fair bit of walking hence flat boots and the weather is rubbish! Obviously I'll throw on jewellery and makeup to finish the look.

What is everyone else up to?

Dreamqueen · 09/04/2016 09:40

your outfit sounds lovely Fedup

Quiet day for me, I still don't fell 100% so will spend most of it on the sofa. We are going to friends for dinner, I've done 4 days on my new food plan & have offered to be the driver tonight to keep me off the booze.

libertydoddle · 09/04/2016 10:06

Outfit sounds perfect fedup.

dream being driver is a good plan to keep off the booze.

QueenC I do wear a lot of black on bottom half and still wear my most flattering black dress to work regularly. TBH the whole not liking how I look feeling is almost 100% tiredness and stress. When I was in NZ I felt completely happy with how I looked. Work has been v tough for the last few weeks and will continue like this. I am doing all the things that help like exercising, limiting caffeine, taking a break from Wine, going to bed early but the full on work days are leaving me drained. Biggest problem is that I am not eating enough some days. End up working through lunch then feeling totally shattered in late afternoon.... Need to carry more snacks around. And the aches are from lugging 2 totes packed with papers, laptop, cables etc all the time.

Drywhitethanks · 09/04/2016 10:20

Liberty that's sounds bad, can you taken smoothie to work normally avoid them but they're great for a quick pick me up if you don't have time for work.

Fedup I always think white jeans not in summer look v chic. Lovely outfit.

Today I'm packing bags and moving to the Highlands Wink I blame Lara, DH can look after himself, I'm off to find me a Scottish laird stopping off at V Westwood to pick up a few key tartan pieces on the way Grin

Drywhitethanks · 09/04/2016 10:21

"for lunch" Lib
