How much makeup do you wear?

On a daily basis I mean.

Personally I wear a wee bit of foundation (got acne scarring and red spots), a tiny bit of concealer on any dark areas, powder, pink blush and eyebrow pencil. I am off mascara at the mo as I've got an eye infection but I'm not missing it, I like looking natural.

So tell me, how much do you wear?

I don't. Bit of lip balm if lips are feeling dry, and that's it! Seriously can't be arsed with faffing every morning with foundation, lipstick and eyeshadow and all that guff.
I'm me, I'm happy with me, and I don't need to hide behind a mask every morning to feel good. Smile

KeyserSophie · 18/03/2016 02:13

On work days or going out in the evening/ for lunch I usually wear foundation and loose powder, clear eyebrow gel, mascara and bronzer/blusher. Takes 3 mins. If I'm not at work, I usually dont bother putting any on.

That said, I dont think not wearing make-up looks unprofessional. I think fewer women do wear it these days, or at least a "full face" is less common. It's just a personal choice.

WordsDarkerThanTheirWings · 18/03/2016 07:24

Primer
Green and Lilac corrector
Foundation
Eyebrow pomade
Highlighter
Blusher
Mascara
Lipstick

Oh and I contour my nose too!

TheMaddHugger · 18/03/2016 07:55

most days
bb cream [50 + sunscreen]
powder

pale pink lippy [also used as blush + wash of colour on eyes]
mascara

joyfulworld · 18/03/2016 08:09

Lip balm only. That's it. I don't really wear make up.

carlaboyle1984 · 18/03/2016 08:10

Foundation, concealer, powder, bronzer, cream blush, mascara, liquid eyeliner

babybythesea · 18/03/2016 08:28

None. I don't own any, so don't wear it for special occasions either.
Would probably look like a circus clown if I tried now. I did wear some, professionally applied, on my wedding day. I felt weird about it - like it wasn't really me. I've got used to the photos now but it took me a while, I just looked so different to normal!

BeautyQueenFromMars · 18/03/2016 09:21

None. Can't make a silk purse out of a sow's ear Grin

hejsvejs · 18/03/2016 09:30

Normal day:
BB cream
Eyebrow pencil
Brown kohl pencil
Mascara

Going out:
BB cream
Bronzer
Eyebrow pencil
Black eyeliner
Eyeshadow
Mascara

ohtheholidays · 18/03/2016 10:08

I don't wear any if I'm just staying in.

If I'm going out in the day a little foundation, loose powder(that I brush over)blusher, lipstick, eyeshadow and mascara if I'm meeting up with friends, family, going out for lunch ect.It takes me about 5 minutes.

If I'm going out in the evening then I'll use a darker pallet and eye liner and spend about 20 minutes doing my make up

If I'm just out running errands ect then loose powder, tinted lip balm and mascara, done in a couple of minutes.

I've been very lucky though, never had acne or spots when I was younger and I've taken after my Father and look like I have a year round tan.

MammaTJ · 18/03/2016 10:19

Day to day, no foundation or powder. This is because I have good skin for a 48 year old. Or, you could say I have good skin for a 48 year old because I have never really worn foundation or powder day to day!

Eyeliner and mascara and maybe eye shadow and lippy.

FirstWeTakeManhattan · 18/03/2016 10:40

Rather surprised by the amount of make up being worn here - i am clearly underdressed

My question would be - if you went to a parent teacher evening, or saw the teacher teaching your child, wearing only mascara and lipbalm (or heaven forfend, no make up) would you consider her under dressed or unprofessional?

Why are you surprised? You must see that many, many women wear make up every day.

On your 'heaven forfend' point...Why do you think for one second that anyone would think what you suggest about the teacher? This is a thread about the make up that people choose to wear, not what they they think about someone who chooses not to.

I have a frenemy who uses the fact that she doesn't wear make up as a badge of (she supposes) intellectual superiority, as though she is far, far too busy and clever to pop a bit of mascara on.

Totally her choice, but I do find that attitude a little tiresome and quite without substance.

I wear concealer, mascara, blusher and lip tint most days, adding eyeshadow, liner etc for an occasion. I always groom my eyebrows, even on no make up days.

jamtartandcustard · 18/03/2016 12:16

foundation, blusher, lipstick and mascara

Iliveinalighthousewiththeghost · 18/03/2016 12:43

BB cream
Mascara
Eye shadow, but not every day. More often than not though.
Eye liner
Lipstick
Now and again bronzer
Nail polish. If that counts

madmomma · 18/03/2016 13:27

The works, cos I'm white with blotchy skin, eyebags and translucent brows and lashes. I look like a very feint rubbed out pencil sketch without it.

bbpp · 18/03/2016 14:56

On a normal day:
Foundation. (Wish I didn't have to but my skin is awful)
Concealer
Setting powder
Bronzer (tiny bit)
Blush
Eye shadow (lid and under eye, brown shades)
Eyeliner
Mascara
Some times lipstick

bbpp · 18/03/2016 14:56

Oh and I fill my eyebrows in!

Mappcat · 20/03/2016 12:38

Moisturiser, blurring primer, mineral powder foundation (a couple of different shades), eyeliner, mascara, lipstick (rose or red depending on how I am feeling). Takes about 10 minutes.

jollyfrenchy · 20/03/2016 18:55

Hardly any. I might put on mascara blusher and lipstick if something other than regular school run/work day happening eg lunch with a friend or similar. Otherwise mostly none.

Even if going out for an evening I might do foundation and add some coloured eye shadow but that's it. Plus I am rubbish at remembering to reapply lipstick so it is gone within the first half hour of my evening.

I actually genuinely don't understand how anybody can spend an hour or similar on their makeup. The most make up I have ever put on probably took 10 minutes. Life is way too short to waste that much time on make up.

EdithBouvierBeale · 20/03/2016 21:00

Bare essentials mineral foundation
Bare Essentials all over face radiance (sometimes)
Benefit Hula bronzer
Becca cream blush in pink
Highlighter
Eye shadow - usually three shades of Mac/Bobbi Brown
Liquid eye liner - L'Oreal
Eye liner
Eyebrow powder
Mascara - Maybelline
Lip liner - Bobbi Brown Cocoa
Hula lipgloss

Wear this every day exept when hungover or really tired! I look 10 times better, and slimmer, with it on. On a night out, I wear the same but heavier on the eyes and contouring. And I might wear false eyelashes too.

JemimaMuddledUp · 20/03/2016 21:21

Foundation, blusher, eyebrow pencil, mascara, lip gloss.

If I'm going out in the evening I add a little eyeshadow and eyeliner. Might wear lip liner and lipstick instead of gloss.

Normal make up takes 5 minutes at most.

Ferrerotoffeemint · 20/03/2016 22:38

Foundation
Powder
Bronzer
Blusher
All over glow highlighter
Eyeshadows
Mascara
Eyeliner
Lipstick
All this for a natural look

Ferrerotoffeemint · 20/03/2016 22:41

In the summer it will probably be just powder, concealer and lipgloss.

Oldwestaction · 20/03/2016 22:45

Bit of foundation where it's needed, bronzer, eyeliner & eyeshadow, mascara and sometimes lippy. Takes me about 10 mins in the morning.

almondpoisson · 20/03/2016 23:15

mascara
