MMM Untitled today. I just adore the slightly odd note in it, but have never been able to work out what ingredient contributes the small. I know some of you also like it, so please, please tell me? It's also present in the CdG Serpentine (at lower cost), which is probably why I like that too. It's quite green and woody, almost mushroom-y, but it works for me year round. If I had to choose one scent, for life, this would be on the short list. And bumping!

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 30/05/2016 16:22

I liked it when I first got it, now I don't. The slightly-going-off backnote is a bit sweet nappy to me Grin or melon that you've had out a few days. Perhaps it is mushroomy.

I had a hangover this morning (nephew's first holy communion meant drink had to be taken) and so tiptoed gingerly around myself in YSL Paris. Gentle, delicate, yet full-bodied at the same time. bit like the red yesterday

cressetmama · 30/05/2016 20:53

I think I must like faecal......[embarrassed].

cressetmama · 30/05/2016 20:54

Blush oh dear...........

MsBojangles · 31/05/2016 11:50

It's a Premier Figuier kind of a day today, ease me into the week gently Smile

Still waiting for my les senteurs order from a last week, bloody endless bank holidays are a pain in the bum. I hate them!

teta · 31/05/2016 13:44

Jardin Mystique by Friedemodin is SOTD.
I've also ordered a couple of samples of the Lancome LA collection and a small decant of Rosee de Nuit off eBay.Beauty Spin are stocking Rose une Mille at a very reasonable price.Buts it's been relaunched and I'm sure reformulated and I don't want to buy it blind.

wiltingfast · 31/05/2016 13:57

Ah cresset MMM Untitled is another of my very few FBs and I still love it a year later Smile

When does the "odd" note emerge? I'll have to wear it tomorrow and ponder Grin

cressetmama · 31/05/2016 14:49

wilting, it happens right away and lasts through. I think it's like the smell of certain grasses in full bloom, which they are around here right now and which I smelled walking the cressethound this morning. It's not as dry as hay, and nothing like as juicy as freshly mown lawn, but it makes me shiver with delight every year! But the perfume ingredient responsible has me stumped! Posted you a small packet this morning BTW, Wilting.

Downwilson · 31/05/2016 15:49

Sorry for butting in on your thread but I wonder if any of you have an idea for a perfume present for my sister? She wears Balenciaga eau de parfum and would like something similar.
Can you point me in the right direction?

HumptyDumptyBumpty · 31/05/2016 17:00

SOTD Tea for Two, after realising how cold, windy and shit the weather is today!

cresset what does MMM stand for please? I can't figure it out Grin

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 31/05/2016 17:43

Maison Martin Margiela I think. Something like that, but my sample bottle also just says MMM.

ThenLaterWhenItGotDark · 31/05/2016 17:45

Down- hello! I don't know what any of the Balenciagas are like, but if you go to Fragrantica website you can look it up and it will tell you similar perfumes.

MissBattleaxe · 31/05/2016 18:08

Which Balenciaga does she like Down?

Downwilson · 31/05/2016 20:49

I thought there was just the one! It's the original eau de parfum by Balenciaga with the cracked ball lid if that makes any sense?

Downwilson · 31/05/2016 20:55

I have just looked up the fragrantica website and it is the Balenciaga Paris perfume that she likes.
Thank you for the replies. I haven't worn perfume in years but am inspired reading this thread. I used to love Le Must de Cartier and the Lolita Lempika perfume when I was younger.

wiltingfast · 31/05/2016 23:19

Down, that's a v elegant cool classic perfume imo. I looked st the fragrantica list and some of them are much stronger. From the list I would think she might like Prada's infusion d'iris or florabotanica. Cartier's l'eau is another that occurs to me Smile

MissBattleaxe · 31/05/2016 23:22

Infusion D'Iris is pure Heaven! So delicate!

MsBojangles · 01/06/2016 12:35

My samples arrived, finally!

Went with Chergui today, might be a tad heavy for me everyday but it's wonderfully warm and rich, like a nuanced more sophisticated Obsession Grin

wiltingfast · 01/06/2016 12:58

SOTD Maison Martin Margiela Untitled as indicated yesterday Smile

cresset I always thought the odd note was the effect of the blend of the galbanum/citrus and white florals?

cressetmama · 01/06/2016 17:09

wilting, it probably is the galbanum. I must have a look at Fragrantica to see what's mentioned.

Today's juice is Elixir des Merveilles EdP, which I ration as it's strong and cherished, and was a birthday present from my DM.

MsBojangles · 01/06/2016 18:18

My small order from 4160 arrived today too, they gave me a bonus sample of, Mother Nature's Naughty Daughter, to be released later in the year. It's rather nice, rose and a lot of things I don't recognise (helpful aren't I) reminds me a bit of Turkish Delight.

teta · 01/06/2016 18:27

The Elixir sounds sounds so evocative of good feelings Cressetmama.
Ormonde Jayne Frangipani is Sotd.I sprayed myself about 10 times to make it last as I adore the Frothy lemon and Linden Blossom opening. The longevity is still arround 4-5 hours.I'm wondering whether it's worth coughing up for the pure perfume.Has anyone sampled any Ormonde Jayne perfumes?

wiltingfast · 01/06/2016 20:22

Yes yes, OJ woman which I really liked and ran through my sample immediately Grin I'm afraid I haven't sniffed it now on a long time so can't recollect it v well. I know if I spotted it in TK Maxx though, it would be mine! So must be good Wink

I blind purchased a decant of vanille d'iris also which I like, though its effect is a bit soft maybe overall. Good for work I find, elegant, you waft about in a cloud of beauty Grin not gourmand at all, the bergamot and wood see to that. A v soft atmospheric iris.

cressetmama · 02/06/2016 14:52

The very last of my Aqua Fiorentina decant went on today. I may have to replace it! I have been pretty good recently. Only the 4160 Tuesdays crowd funder set has passed my card, so it could be justified. But it would be foolish to buy just one decant if they are coming from the USA, so I can have a lovely ponder. I might have to RTFT just to be reminded of all the scents I have liked from the enablers perfumistas on here that I can hear encouraging me. WWYD everyone? What should I try?

MsBojangles · 02/06/2016 17:25

I think you've shown considerable restraint, all things considered. Definitely try Debaser if they have it, it's a must for green and figgy lovers Smile

SOTD: Fire, it's turned into my go to when I don't have the time or inclination to make a decision.
