So I have a family wedding in April (6 weeks eeeek) that I want to look good for as I'll be seeing a lot of people I haven't seen in a while.

I plan to do the following as much as possible!
Stop all takeaways after tonight
Reduce caffeine
Drink more water
Use teatree face mask to get rid off blemishes/scarring
Use nail/cuticle cream
Use eyelash enhancer such as taliko
Exfoliate and moisturise body
Apply oil to scalp/hair
Shred for beginners DVD
Take at least 5k steps a day

Any suggestions welcome! No need to spend money as I'm sure many of us have lots of beauty products lying around.

I'm in bed with a horrid cold today and didn't sleep well so think I'm going to have a cake! CakeBlush

LadyPriggsbottom · 03/03/2016 14:56

Oh no destiny! Poor you. There's a horrid cold doing the rounds around here too. We've all had it chez Priggsbottom. Cake will cure all! Enjoy!

I've not eaten so brilliantly today... Lots of bready type things and not a whole lot else due to lack of groceries pre-holiday (woop). Oh well, I shall try to drag my fat bum over to the leisure centre this evening for my class or at least do some Davina. Maybe a fruit and veg smoothie this afternoon... What's that about the road to hell? Grin

Destinysdaughter · 03/03/2016 15:52

Lady it's a marathon not a sprint remember. Well I put almond oil on my hair last night, it's still on as I've hardly been out of bed all day. Still, I did create myself a playlist of happy songs ( as inspired by another thread ), so guess the day hasn't been entirely wasted! Smile

JudyBlumeRocks · 04/03/2016 11:46

Ok, so i ran DD to nursery this morning and am feeling quite smug. But then I got on the scales and have put on 3 lbs. I blame yesterday's cake.

I am still none the wiser on my blasted cuticles. despite my loving attention they look like crap.

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 05/03/2016 01:29

Oooh Oooh I went to Pilates this morning. Thanks for the marathon reminder... I have had a shocking week work wise with few meals, no exercise etc. BUT had lovely makeup on each day and am not giving up.

Clarabumps · 05/03/2016 09:30

I could really do with joining this thread. I got my nails done on Wednesday and dyed my hair. I really need to keep on top of this

I swim 5 times a week so I need to set aside a night to properly condition my hair.
I'm going to book into get a massage and a facial at my local college.
I'm getting married in August so also need to get back on MFP. I have around a stone to lose.
I need motivation and this thread could be it.

Destinysdaughter · 05/03/2016 11:25

Clara welcome! I put oil on my hair to protect it when I go swimming. Makes it nice and shiny too!

Clarabumps · 05/03/2016 15:35

I tried putting conditioner on it under my swimming cap but my cap just shot off like a catapult.
Blush
What type of oil do you use?would almond do?the hair at the nape of my neck has snapped off. Xx

JemimaMuddledUp · 05/03/2016 20:05

10k steps today - hurrah!

My skin is really showing the amount of fruit and veg and water I've been eating and drinking. Avocados especially seem to make a huge difference.

Took part in a parade through town today and there are loads of photos of us on FB, Twitter etc and for the first time in a long time I don't really hate the photos of me. Result!

Destinysdaughter · 05/03/2016 21:53

Almond oil or coconut are good. Coconut travels better as it's solid, just warm it up in the palms of your hands!

Destinysdaughter · 05/03/2016 21:54

Jemima well done, v inspiring!

Fizrim · 05/03/2016 22:09

Quick weekly check-in!

Successes - those bed yoga stretches really help, and I did put some varnish on my nails and I really like it, will keep that up.
Near misses - had one pamper session, fruit and vitamins a bit sporadic
Misses - no exercise apart from yoga!

Next week I'll focus on on the missing bits!

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 05/03/2016 22:12

Jemima that's fantastic ...

I eat heaps of fruit and veg and very little crap. Skin still looks tired. I think I could be dehydrated a lot of the time. Live I the tropics and it is hard to keep on top of. DH's skin is beautiful at the moment, he says it's all the sweating.

Reading this thread as I do my physio. Must try harder

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 06/03/2016 00:35

I need to steer myself away from the mini Creme Eggs Blush. I don't like the full sized ones, but the mini ones are lush (and there's only 8/9 in a bag.)

Once they're off the shelves that'll be it.
Back to normal. I think my phantom gall bladder reacts to them though, I get a pinching pain where it was ( too fatty I suppose) so that's a good incentive. I'd been doing really well till they floated onto the horizon.

Enjoy till Easter though (except the rubbishy bag I bought in Aldi, they were disappointingly solid Sad )

JemimaMuddledUp · 06/03/2016 10:06

Lotsofplanets I've always eaten a good 5-7 portions of fruit and veg every day, but I've upped it to between 10-14 and am really seeing the benefits. I eat a lot of meals which are pretty much entirely plant based (eg baked sweet potato with avocado, spinach and tomatoes or spriralized courgette with mushrooms and tomatoes) which really up my veg intake. I start every day with a green smoothie too, which packs around 3 portions into breakfast.

However I am currently sitting here with my box of mothers' day chocolates so today might not be quite such a good food day!

Destinysdaughter · 06/03/2016 12:27

Jemima if you eat that healthily normally think you're allowed the occasional chocolate binge! I've bought some Spiralised butternut squash which I'm going to use instead of pasta today. Hope it's nice!

Destinysdaughter · 06/03/2016 12:28

I've also found that having water with freshly squeezed lemon or lime juice in as actually v nice, healthy and no calories!

AWONI · 06/03/2016 17:32

Just checking in with some ta dahs:

Keeping up the veg intake and remembering vitamins
Had a lovely bubble bath earlier and exfoliated all over and moisturised afterwards
Gave myself a long over due manicure.

doctorboo · 07/03/2016 16:57

My 3 boys passed on their bug so I had a couple of down days and then managed to do some decent exercise - before I ate threw days worth of calories in a hour!!! Blush Blush Blush shite self control.

Clarabumps · 07/03/2016 17:20

Don't beat yourself up DoctorBoo. Just start again from now.
I was out at the weekend so had an absolute horror of a hangover yesterday and still feeling it today.

I went swimming today though for an hour and I have yoga tonight. Back on track.

AWONI · 08/03/2016 20:45

I'm not well Sad and I feel very much more like a witch than a princess. Have done nothing prettifying at all today, or yesterday, I think. How's everyone else?

Freddiesmother · 08/03/2016 22:28

Oh I love it these threads need to sort myself out had terrible hair and no makeup for weeks and feel terrible for it! Think I would be motivated by a pedometer too so will ask for one for my birthday. Anyone got one they recommend?

70isaLimitNotaTarget · 09/03/2016 09:35

I dyed and highlighted my hair , and though I now look more like John Lydon than Marilyn Monroe , it'll be better once it's cut (needs to be long to do the pesky highlights

AWONI · 10/03/2016 11:40

Is the hair cut soon 70? I did my roots yesterday - hair looks SO much better today!

I'm still feeling yuk but I've been doing some reading and apparently eating more fruit and vegetables can make you more attractive to men Or women, I guess! They make your skin glowy apparently. I've decided to attempt fruit and/or vegetables with every meal. I also came across a MN thread about how eating 3 Brazil nuts a day makes your skin amazing. So I'm giving that a go too. If you can see a distant glow in the distance next time I'm on here, that'll be me Grin

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 10/03/2016 11:46

Two, TWO, people asked me if I had lost weight today. Huzzah. (Shallow)
