So I have a family wedding in April (6 weeks eeeek) that I want to look good for as I'll be seeing a lot of people I haven't seen in a while.

I plan to do the following as much as possible!
Stop all takeaways after tonight
Reduce caffeine
Drink more water
Use teatree face mask to get rid off blemishes/scarring
Use nail/cuticle cream
Use eyelash enhancer such as taliko
Exfoliate and moisturise body
Apply oil to scalp/hair
Shred for beginners DVD
Take at least 5k steps a day

Any suggestions welcome! No need to spend money as I'm sure many of us have lots of beauty products lying around.

OK, my list:

  • Eat 10 portions of fruit and veg every day
  • Drink 2l of water every day
  • No caffeine
  • Hot Cloth Cleanser and Moisturiser every morning
  • Double cleanse with Miscellar Water then Hot Cloth Cleanser at night if wearing make up (otherwise just hot cloth), then moisturise
  • Apply Handcream 3 times a day
  • File and paint nails once a week
  • Cut and colour hair and wax eyebrows every 6 weeks
  • Swim 1km twice a week
  • Hit 8k steps target every day

Also as part of my no jeans to work challenge I need to start planning my week's outfits on a Sunday night to make sure that everything is clean and ironed.

I am using MFP and have lost just over a stone since the start of 2016, but I would like to lose another stone to get to my target weight.

Destinysdaughter · 27/02/2016 21:28

Jemima that's a brilliant list! Well done on losing a stone too. How did you do it..?

Donge13 · 27/02/2016 21:42

Will be back shortly with a list. Although it will definitely have a gradual tanner on it as I'm so pastyGrin

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 27/02/2016 21:43

Will work on my list, but definitely in!

JemimaMuddledUp · 27/02/2016 21:49

Destiny - just by using MFP to calorie count. I've lost weight (6 stone) doing that before so I know it works, but I've got lazy since changing jobs and put 2 stone back on over the past 2 years. This time though I'm going to keep it off!

SayAGreatBigThankyou · 27/02/2016 21:55

Right, here goes (c&p into excel so I can tick it off each day. I do love a list!).

My plan for March (starting tomorrow):
no takeaways/mcdos
2 coffees max a day
weekly home facial - fri pm
sort cuticles/nails
7K steps min
2 runs a week
start pilates again
calorie count with MFP until last few pounds gone
no booze sun-thuds
eat more fruit and veg (3 of each a day)
be asleep before 11
take vitamins
stop abusing hair with heat/picking etc so I can get a good cut next month
outfit plan

Good luck all!!! Just had a vitamin, removed old nail polish and charged fitbit.

Destinysdaughter · 27/02/2016 22:49

Was just reading a thread about pp hating Zumba and someone mentioned Clubbercise which is basically dancing to 90s dance music. Found 2 classes near me so going to try one this week! Smile

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 28/02/2016 06:10

I am in ..chronic pain has got under my skin and am hugely fat. Time to get it all together

...2 litres of water every day

No alcohol in the week
Physio every day
Shave legs
Regular pedi (I live in the tropics)
Make up off every night

Saymwa · 28/02/2016 08:22

Would like to join too.
Need to work on my list now.
Smile

LadyPriggsbottom · 28/02/2016 11:46

Oh I like the new lists just added. I definitely need to shave my legs and have bikini waxes more often Blush, so that's a good one!

This thread has already had a positive influence on me I think; I have had no caffeine or refined sugar at all today, (which is unheard of for me), despite my unfairly slim DH having tea, hot cross buns and chocolate biccies out at various points this morning. I know it's only noon but still - it's a small win! I've been having rooibos tea instead of my usual tea / coffee. I think I like it as much as normal tea and it is apparently quite good for you. I can have it with milk too which fools me into thinking I'm having 'proper' tea. I managed two of the 15 min Davina workouts plus a stretch this morning and went to my usual class yesterday. Drinking loads of water too.

Hope everyone is having a nice Sunday. Smile

AWONI · 28/02/2016 12:48

I have had a productive morning: used my dry skin brush before my bath, exfoliated in the bath, moisturiser afterwards. Have filed my toe nails (I never bother with nail varnish) and used my new nip and fab Glycolic acid pads.

Am about to have a very veg filled lunch and will take all my vitamins with it.

And I've had a litre of water already! Hurray!

JemimaMuddledUp · 28/02/2016 19:41

Progress Report:

Have eaten 10 portions of fruit and veg today (including pineapple, mango, banana, courgette, mushrooms, tomatoes, watermelon, avocado and blueberries)

Have drunk 2l of water and no caffeine

Have cleansed and moisturised and hand creamed.

Am about to have a bath, after which I will file and paint my nails

Haven't done many steps as I'm still not 100% after having tonsillitis. But I have replaced the battery in my Fitbit Zip.

Have got my outfit ready for work tomorrow (patterned dress, cardigan, scarf, opaques, brogues - definitely not jeans!) and have loosely thought about the rest of the week.

redstrawberries101 · 28/02/2016 20:07

Wow lots of good progress ladies! It's really quite motivating reading other people's posts Grin how is everyone tracking it??

Today I've :
Put a facemask on .... And that's all. It was a lovely oat mask from body shop and made my skin look so fresh.

Still better than before! Least I got it on before a shower. Was in a rush so wasn't able to moisturise etc.

I need to get my Fitbit on charge so I'll do that now, ready for the week ahead. Not managed to set DVD player up yet to start the beginners shred.

I had a brilliant idea last night that I'd like to share with you all. Was reading the thread about pp not having facials and was thinking I really love them but they're a bit expensive. So... I googled beauty colleges and basically you can get all sorts of beauty treatments, manicures, facials, waxing, massage, spray tans etc for a fraction of the price! £5-£15 etc. Woo hoo! So I'm going to phone up tomorrow and book some treatments. Obviously if you're in a city thread going to be more of them but great to have a bit of pampering for not much money!

Will let you know how I get on..,

And great everyone's so inspired and motivated!

Destinysdaughter · 28/02/2016 20:54
  • there's not thread!!
JemimaMuddledUp · 28/02/2016 21:21

Yes, I've been doing this for years. Our local college also do kids' haircuts for free, so that hairdressing students can get practice.

The only thing I find with our local Hair and Beauty College is that it is great for things like haircuts, nails, waxing etc but not so great for things like massage and facials as the students can be a bit nervous and then you don't relax as much yourself. And it is the relaxation bit I like!

Destinysdaughter · 28/02/2016 21:25

I know what you mean! Am going to try it and see how it goes.

redstrawberries101 · 29/02/2016 08:12

Great idea, I'll check my local college! I've just followed this video and it's a great way to stretch before getting up in the morning. Thought I would share!

Great idea, stretching in bed, thanks for that. I've just booked a facial for tomorrow. For only £5!!Smile

doctorboo · 29/02/2016 16:35

I'm in too, my goal is to be back to pre DS3 weight by his 1st Birthday (4 months time) and be glowing and lean while I see everyone at his joint birthday party.

I'm quite good with my facial routine, but not with my body so I've started using a body scrub daily and have to buy some decent fake tan.

I need to:

  • Continue using Davina 5 week DVD (Just at the end of week one.) *drink more water *cut out crisps and chocolate... Or at least cut right down... Continue keeping alcohol to a glass at the weekend. *keep up with my 10k steps a day. *Buy more Korean masks (love them) *start multi vitamin again. *weekly hair treatment (I'm growing out the hair dye at the mo.) *sort out my dry and scabby feet.
AWONI · 29/02/2016 16:40

Ooh dry and scabby feet... There's a point. I've got a pack of Footner in the cupboard that I've never been brave enough to try. Anyone used one before??

Destinysdaughter · 29/02/2016 17:32

Nooo they look too scary for me! You do it tho and give us updates....Smile

Destinysdaughter · 29/02/2016 17:33

Also, which Korean masks do you use?

Jmangel · 29/02/2016 18:20

Destinydaughter - that is so true of men - my DH drives me mad waltzing around looking gorgeous doing absolutely nothing whilst I spend hours in the bloody bathroom!

Doctorboo - which Korean masks please?

I'm doing ok today - no sugary anything so far and drinking water well. Need to get in the bath once put DDs to bed and do exfoliqtion/shaving/fake tan. My problem is DH gets home late - always feel like I have to wait downstairs for him to come home - usually after 8.30 then once we've had a nice catch up, it's nearly 9 and can't face the faff of it all at that time and end up snuggling watching Game of Thrones or something. Must do better.

Lotsofplanetshaveanorth · 01/03/2016 06:58

Oooh so much inspiration ..I have just looked at my track and share and it looks like my drinking has cut right back...go me! Aqua aerobics for me tonight ...please don't laugh I am massively restricted in what I can do!

Must must must improve my facial routine.

Does caffeine make THAT much difference? I love my skinny caps and have no difficulty sleeping? Do I have to switch to green tea? Really?
