Oh no! I haven't washed mine yet Lib thanks for the warning. Back at hospital. No change.

KittyHello · 17/03/2016 13:36

Happy St. Patrick's Day to our Irish ladies, Lib Cranagh & Topaz Shamrock

Oh no about your trousers Lib, maybe certain colours shrink, mine are the charcoal and tbh I wanted mine to shrink a little, they stayed the same. Hope the hangover is easing off.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/03/2016 15:41

Hello all, happy St Patrick's Day Shamrock

Lib how did the meeting go, ok I hope? How annoying about the trousers. But the main thing is that your DH and DD will be back, yay!

shop hope that's a case of no news is good news, but also hope for some actual good news soon :)

I need to lower the tone of the thread a bit... My upcoming holiday is going to be basically a 2 week city break, involving lots of walking. I have very high arches, so always get lower back pain when I walk in unsupportive shoes. On my last city break I just wore my running shoes and it was great, but this time I want to look smarter. So today I took delivery of these. Thought they'd go with lots while still being smartish and not too fugly, considering they are orthotic. Anyway, so far they seem good - fit well and don't flop off my feet like slip ons usually do, and with lots of support. What do you think?

I'm thinking of getting some trainers as well (probably black) for sightseeing, and maybe a pair of comfy wedges (SoyYo I was looking at Gabor). It's so difficult to cover all bases, and not particularly fun spending my hard earned cash on granny shoes Grin

QueenC · 17/03/2016 16:19

blair I don't blame you-if I was walking for 2 weeks I'd do the same. 4 days in Marrakech killed my lower back wearing my saltwaters.

Happy paddys day Shamrock. I'm at a gig tonight and planning on drinking guiness.

lib annoying about the trousers. Have you ironed them? Sometimes that helps stretch them back into shape.

Have spent the day with dm today which has been lovely. Went shopping and bought the gap girlfriend jeans as all jeans were £20. I wanted to try the croppedvflares but they didn't have the colour I wanted in my size but lib they have khaki ones and I thought of you.

shop how's things?

AmberNectarine · 17/03/2016 16:37

I just wear trainers if I need to walk and never suffer. Luckily that is my look anyway!

shopafrolic · 17/03/2016 16:39

Not good today Queen won't be about tonight. Back tomorrow.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/03/2016 16:51

I don't think trainers are my look :( I'm starting to realise as I get older that I need something more elegant - sounds ridiculous, can't think of another way to put it. Also, I saw myself in a shop window at the weekend wearing skinnies and I looked terrible, I realised what people mean when they say they look like a parsnip! All stumpy and weird. Aargh.

Shop Flowers

AmberNectarine · 17/03/2016 16:56

Well, you didn't look remotely parsnippy when I saw you Blair

Thanks and a lucky Shamrock shop - thinking of you lovely X

KittyHello · 17/03/2016 17:08

Oh no Shop thinking of you Flowers

libertydoddle · 17/03/2016 17:08

Oh shop I feel for you. Sending you virtual hugs.

Blair those shoes look perfect for what you want. I know exactly what you mean about not looking / feeling right in trainers. I struggle with them too. And I agree with amber that you don't look at all parsnip legs! You looked fab in the Acne jeans you wore to the MU.

I have calmed down. Trousers have eased and look OK again I think, but I will cold wash next time. Meetings all went well. Some Pret a Manger chicken and broccoli soup worked wonders on the hangover. On my way home now via M&S where I will buy all DH and DD favourite food! Will be so good to have them home Smile

AmberNectarine · 17/03/2016 17:20

That's my favourite soup Lib - has been soup of the week all week

LinusLovesBretons · 17/03/2016 17:21

Flowers shop

SoyYo · 17/03/2016 17:33

More Shamrock greetings!
liberty how annoying that the Uniglos didn't wash well (was considering myself after such fab reviews on thus thread)
What are parsnip legs? Make allowances for my ignorance as English not mother tongue
If you mean tubby I have the opposite problem very slim legs and hips on v shape which becomes apple shape when even slightly overweight, which was the case up to Xmas, now nearly a stone lighter and close to ideal weight DS1 said to me "mummy your legs are looking very skinny" which is a worry!
Oh well

Blair good shoes and good plan I have e wide feet its such a challenge to find decent looking non granny shoes! I'm not a trainer person...

Decided to return second Camel Muubaa (but keeping dark brown one) just doesn't look right it cannot make its mind up as to whether its a cardy or a jacket and I'm not into ambiguous Muubaas Hmm

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/03/2016 17:34

That soup sounds lush! My favourite is Yorkshire Provender cauliflower cheese and ham, it's lovely.

Thanks Amber and Lib, I do get self conscious about my tiny legs, it was the same jeans! I'm going to try and wear more dresses this summer.

Lib hope you have a lovely evening :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/03/2016 17:36

I'm a pear shape SoyYo, I thought my legs looked this shape Grin

Aw Shop Flowers thinking of you x

SoyYo · 17/03/2016 17:50

Blair thanks for the graphic explanation!Grin
Continuing with the veg theme I think I have celery legs Angry
Btw Gabors are VERY comfortable! Have you thought of looking at Moshulu shoes?

shop sending positive vibes

maradesbois · 17/03/2016 18:10

Envious of those of you who went for the chicken & broccoli soup in pret today. I got the pumpkin one, was meh. Lemon chicken one with chickpeas is much nicer.

No way do you have parsnip legs Blair! Sorry but am struggling to say something nice about your shoe link, best I can do is understand your reasons why! I would just wear trainers but am a trainer person and completely get what you're saying about needing to be more elegant. I think plain white pumps like superga can look elegant and classic chic but not sure about arch support.

QueenC I was in gap getting jeans for ds (taking advantage of the 40% off) and saw the cropped flares, they looked good.

Shop Flowers thinking of you and your family.

SoyYo sounds like a good call on the muubaa.

LinusLovesBretons · 17/03/2016 18:28

I'm like you blair, a pear with parsnip legs. Sounds like another recipe for soup! Wink

justasecond · 17/03/2016 18:47

I'm sure you don't have parsnip legs blair! The shoes look comfortable. I only have runner style trainers i.e like nike or new balance. i couldn't get on with the stan smith style made my feet look huge and I felt flat footed in them.
soyo love your muubaa jacket, the leather looks so soft.
shame about the uniqlo trousers lib but thanks for the tip. I will wash mine on cold!
I have bad pmt and feel exhausted and bloated my cycle is about 2 and half weeks now Confused I also go very pale before I start, it was a mistake wearing a camel polo neck today as I am blending right into it!

Oh and happy St Patrick's day!

Drywhitethanks · 17/03/2016 18:50

Shop sending more love to you my friend. Hope tomorrow brings good news.

Happy Shamrockto all......Liberty how. Lovely to have the family back together Smile

Blair I think those shoes look like classic driving shoes, Todd - like, classic. A great site too, DD has flat feet which is a nightmare for a teenager, I really worry about her back/joints in later life.

As I get older I like trainers more Hmm.......infact I've decided that I'm all backwards from other women my age or maybe a mid life crisis Shock

At my age not that old btw my peers aren't:

Wearing trainers outside the gym
Getting super fit with muscles
Increasing their working hours
Wasting time watching Netflix

Why the need to change the font? Confused

It's been a stressful week at work....about to have a Wine

And....

My new dolce heels are 11cm and were fine on Saturday night. Those office ones are the devil's own work!

justasecond · 17/03/2016 19:01

Oh and a quick report back on the Hourglass powders as I know some of you, Linus maybe? wanted to know about them? At first I thought they were rubbish but having used them for a few weeks now I think they are actually genius. Its hard to describe exactly what they do but I use them last after blusher on the cheekbones and forehead and then a bit all over. The effect is subtle but they just make my skin look glowy and better without sparkle and not settling into lines or dry patches.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 17/03/2016 19:05

That's kind of what I was going for Dry, the driving shoe vibe! Don't worry mara, I wasn't expecting anything better than "they aren't THAT bad" maybe Grin I did consider just getting some good insoles for the arch support, but I don't know what shoes I'd put them in, I really struggle with casual footwear.

High fives Linus, fellow parsnip leg!

I'm sure very few people are not trainer people, but I think I'm one of them. Lib as your fellow RC I'm looking forward to your verdict on the skater shoes you ordered.

SoyYo thanks for the Moshulu link, they look much nicer than what I was expecting! Wink I really need that moulded sole though. Shame about the jacket but sounds like the right decision.

justa hope you feel better soon, that sounds horrible.

SoyYo · 17/03/2016 19:11

dry enjoy your Wine might join you too as busy day homeworking but so used to travelling lots and have been without trips for 3 weeks now chained to home office I think I'm starting to get cabin fever!
Must stop looking at mid season sales!

On DD flat feet totally sympathy I have flat feet went through childhood with specially made lace up booties to correct arch and insoles which did their job but a side effect (apart from nightmare in finding non granny shoes) is I never learnt to walk in high heels, I envy those who can!
