Feeling a bit sick of winter clothes? Looking forward to Spring Summer? Dry (and not-so-dry) January is over. Come and join us for fashion links and more. It's friendly here. Smile

Well done QueenC

Love the Valentino cape dress linus, very vampish

I'm deep in my comfort zone today in dark green cords, fluffy cobalt Hush jumper and purple cashmere scarf. I feel good. It is making me think I may wear a dress rather than suit to my interview as I'll just feel so much more comfortable.

SoyYo · 16/03/2016 17:56

Hi everyone, "defected" to a curly hair thread and so kept up to date ad hoc with your posts and links which are all fab btw!
I don't own any of the listed "must have" items.
BTW I don't think I am very fashionable but hey you tolerate me and your thread is always a source of inspiration (if rather "spendy" OMG some of the £££ for the lovely links!).

Anyhow I said earlier I would link some of my recent purchases, it is annual work bonus time for me and I am being very frugal since my wardrobe is bulging and till I have time to discard/decide what to keep I have promised myself to be extra good.
Having said that these all arrived:
Nice Muubaa Defo a Keeper to add to my collection, will be useful for prebudget trip to Paris in May
and
second Muubaa I also like and was a bargain at Brand Alley with xtra 20% discount, basically a suede cardy but I don't wear camel often so not sure what colours to combine it with? Considering whether to keep

and
Sandals for my wide feet

and thinking of FedUp lovely summer dresses link I got this a month or so ago from the East sale for wafting about in the garden/summer hols and love it
Indigo Maxi it is just lovely and flowy without the tent effect

That's all my news for now, sorry I am so inconsistent in posting.Flowers

Next I am after a new practical work tote that will carry my laptop, etc on my frequent trips to Eu as current one looking tired, and a new carry on bag as my existing two are also a bit worse for wear, but as they are not "fashion" but "practical" work necessities I will not post.

shopafrolic · 16/03/2016 19:15

Evening all. Bad day with DF today. One step forward two back I think. They say he'll be in for a fortnight at least now. Felt good in my clothes though. It's a good distraction.

shopafrolic · 16/03/2016 19:20

Hope no-one thinks I'm shallow but the fashion is the only thing making me feel normal right now.

AmberNectarine · 16/03/2016 19:38

I don't think you're shallow at all shop. You're putting your armour on

shopafrolic · 16/03/2016 19:46

Thanks amber I keep being reminded of Sali Hughes book when she talks about taking lipstick in to friends who are in hospital. I've worn make up so much more since Friday! War paint.

LinusLovesBretons · 16/03/2016 19:52

Great Muubaa batgains SoyYo!

shop it's perfectly normal to seek comfort in beautiful things when times are tough. Flowers

KittyHello · 16/03/2016 20:04

Gosh Shop you're really going through the mill atm, you have to take comfort in something and if that's clothes then so be it, you still have to have pleasures in life, no matter what.

Great buys Soyo

Does anyone else have different font on MN, or have I just hit some buttons by accident

Well done on the weight loss Queen I'm being a bit yo-yo with my weight, need to lose that elusive 2lbs, it just won't shift.

Off to get my eyebrows waxed, I love a late night salon.

Larastheme · 16/03/2016 20:23

shop dear ,you are going through lots of serious issues, you need something to escape too, that will give a momentarily piece of mind,
I remember coming here last year when I was going through a rough patch, and it was talking to you all that made my mind switch of a bit and recharge,
This place is awesome, Star

kitty here too, I don't like changes

MarshaBrady · 16/03/2016 20:33

Shop talking about fashion and style was exactly what I needed when things were tough, and also the comfort of chatting to everyone on vogue was necessary. I agree with Lara and everyone this place is ace

Big hug, we're here. Keep chatting

I love all these beautiful links Thanks, so tired, will be back

SoyYo · 16/03/2016 20:40

shop couldn't agree more with everyone you're not shallow you just need a distraction and what better than thinking of something you love?
You really need to worry when you cannot "distract" yourself! Congratulate yourself on your resilience!
Thank you all on kind link comments
Enjoy your evenings Flowers

shopafrolic · 16/03/2016 20:46

My lovely Voguettes - thank you. lara it is ace here. Not sure what I'd do without you guys Thanks
Font change here too Kitty - thought I'd imagined it

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 16/03/2016 21:16

shop it's the most natural thing in the world to need to take your mind off stressful things. Flowers

Amber that sweatshirt! Grin I'm not much of a sweatshirt wearer but I could make an exception...

SoyYo those jackets look so soft, you're the MuuBaa queen.

Beautiful dresses Linus, I love both the Peter Pilottos. Can't wait to see what you choose Lara.

shopafrolic · 16/03/2016 21:28

Oh and Linus I loved looking at your fabulous links for Lara. I love how well you know her style, you're very good xx

Drywhitethanks · 16/03/2016 22:33

Shop agree with everyone here, not at all shallow, whatever makes you feel confident/happy is important at a time like this. X

Big hugs shop. Not shallow at all to distract yourself. Hope both you and your DF have a good night. Sleep well. Flowers

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 16/03/2016 23:39

It's not shallow at all Shop it's a fence, a wall, something to distract you. Don't feel bad for it, not even a little bit. I hope Df improves

Zero shopping nws to report, I'm just wiped out and really glad its the holidays but i so badly need some recovery time. Fingers crossed that once this abscess has gone, ill be back on an even keel again

shopafrolic · 17/03/2016 08:05

Morning all - happy St Patricks Day Cranagh Lib and anyone I've missed.

MarshaBrady · 17/03/2016 08:40

Topaz! (I think)

To all [where's the leaf]

maradesbois · 17/03/2016 09:08

Morning,

Happy St Patrick's Day! Was MN too busy changing the font to put the shamrock? I like a narrow sans serif but also like things staying the same, its reassuring.

Lara the cream p pilotto dress has you written all over it, is gorgeous. Great choices Linus.

Shop I think its great that fashion stuff can help you deal with life shit, I retreat from all that which isn't good, it can help you deal with other things.

Thanks for all the colour help with my some kind of teal scarf, will wear to mu lib, grey is good idea linus, thanks.

I'm preppy mcprep today in RL striped shirt with crest thing on it. Grey skinnies and choo bikers. Was out last night for a few drinks with classmates, one girl was wearing a vintage missoni knit inherited from her mum, so soft and lovely quality, think it was from '80s or early '90s. So much nicer than recent stuff.

One I can't wait for the holidays too. Hopefully you will be able to relax and get your health back on track.

LinusLovesBretons · 17/03/2016 09:45

Happy St Patrick's Day Irish Voguettes.

I should go and buy a can of Guinness in honour of the occasion but I haven't had one since my breastfeeding days. I know it's an Old Wives Tale but it got me through those first difficult months

libertydoddle · 17/03/2016 10:07

Wine Wine Wine for Topaz and Cranagh

I have done my national duty and woken up with a bad hangover!! The night out was worth it though Grin

Cranagh · 17/03/2016 11:27

Hehe, Liberty! [Shamrock] back at you! Are DH and DD back tonight? Exciting!

You're not shallow at all, Shop. Flowers

First day of school holidays here so we are all in PJs relaxing. Will read back now.

LinusLovesBretons · 17/03/2016 11:48

shop and dry I finally posted those dresses to you. I hope the right colour went to the right person.

one I just remembered I promised you some jeans ages ago. I am so sorry for forgetting! If you send me your address via pm I will send them after finding where I left them

libertydoddle · 17/03/2016 12:37

Yes they are back tonight Cranagh. V exciting.

Am now regretting the hangover. On Tube, hands shaking, running late for a meeting with some v senior people Blush and I am having a clothing crisis....

The Uniqlo trousers have shrunk Angry. Pulled them on in a hurry and decided the slightly clingy feeling would give but no. They are at least an inch shorter and clinging around my calves. They look completely shit which is not helping my mood. I washed them at 40 degrees. Didn't check label admittedly. Will check it later but just a warning to everyone else to check before chucking them in the machine.
