Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

Blackduck · 26/02/2016 11:04

Rudy let us know if we can help....

Blackduck · 26/02/2016 11:06

MrsS - hasn't approved your leave entitlement? Surely that is a HR issue?

And the expenses - I would refuse to go anywhere else until they were paid...

Rosebag · 26/02/2016 12:09

Hope you're feeling a bit better today Stropps Sounds horrid but liking your new noodle- related phraseology!

MrsS That is entirely unacceptable and I would be complaining to HR. Your boss's conduct needs a written warning! Angry

BD That's tough but you're fighting the good fight, and wot Magi said...don't accept the unacceptable in terms of care homes. So sorry for your DDad too. Flowers

MI Good luck this weekend. Flowers but sniggering over cats pee smelliness Hope the lunch out is ok if not enjoyable.

Rudy keep checking in with us. Flowers Sending comforting vibes.

I feel very flat today. Good class yesterday...new courses started last night and another on Monday. Good to be teaching again, it's true but I've just had a major rant on one of our yahoo groups forums...management want a national recruitment drive to train more teachers. I mean.,..really? With the rest of us having courses cancelled right, left and centre.... Angry AND THEY WANT US TO PUBLICISE THE TRAINING... Angry Yes, really.

wordassociationfootball · 26/02/2016 12:31

Good to see you Rudy. BD MM is right. Make selves unpopular now. It has to be a local home. Really sad.

Stropps, how upsetting to be mugged by the past like that.

Crepeys. All is fine now but I'm still shaking. Just had an utter fucknoodle of a half hour. School mailed to ask why dd1 (Y9) was absent and I mailed back to say, err, she isn't. She left for school on time etc.... They rang and said she's marked absent by tutor and isn't marked present for periods one and two as well. I am immediately thinking she must have been abducted on the way to school as she is a disciplined and happy kid with nothing more than an upcoming guitar performance to stress her. So they ask me some of her friends names and go off to investigate while I get dressed (sorry, but I'm thinking 'this is the outfit I wear at the press conference asking for info'). I'm scrawling down names of other friends and eventually school ring back and say you said there wasn't any reason she'd not be in lessons but she was actually having her guitar lesson, to which I reply. Yes but this is period 3 (III, three). You have no track of her in tutor time or the first two periods (in bold caps with swearing). AIBU to send a bit of a flamer of an email to the head? I have texted DD to see if she can think of any reason not to have those other 3 marks and will feed that in down the line if she has anything useful to say.

wordassociationfootball · 26/02/2016 12:32

Also Mrs S, sitting on your expenses and not confirming your hol entitlement are OUTRAGEOUS!!!!!

bigTillyMint · 26/02/2016 12:55

Rudy, I missed you in a cross - post! Sorry things are crappy for you ATM.

WAF, sorry to hear you were so worried. I have had the odd text from the school saying please explain why DS/DD is absent. As mine are not necessarily as reliably good as your DD, I texted them first to find out what was going on. It's generally that they weren't in on time/were elsewhere in school for some reason. In your case I would alert the school as maybe there is something wrong with their systems or something.

motherinferior · 26/02/2016 13:15

WAFThanks

motherinferior · 26/02/2016 13:16

And RudyThanks

wordassociationfootball · 26/02/2016 13:17

Am I being pfb? Grin You can tell me I am if you like, I don't mind.

motherinferior · 26/02/2016 13:22

And RudyThanks

wordassociationfootball · 26/02/2016 13:22

I might be being pfb. I have on my to do list to let them know she will be having upcoming jabs at gp rather than school as she is a major passer-outer and wants to not be hurried and also have mummywummy me with her.

bigTillyMint · 26/02/2016 13:36

WAF jabs at the GP is probably a good idea - there was an almighty fuss when DD had the first part of the 3 cervical cancer(?) jabs, with loads of of them fainting/saying they felt ill and at least 10 parents in reception when I turned up, having been called to take DD home. Mass hysteria!

Lalsy · 26/02/2016 13:37

WAF, I don't think you are being pfb. Their processes failed and could put less reliable kids at risk....... I don't understand how you are supposed to know when her guitar lesson is (necessarily) or how that fits with her timetable. You poor thing.

And BD, gulp, it is so sad and nothing can take that away. But getting the right care in the right place for your dm will reduce added stress on you all Flowers.

Rudy, hope you are okay.

Rosebag · 26/02/2016 13:44

Shock waf epic fail on the part of the school.

NUFC69 · 26/02/2016 14:17

Ah, WAF, it does sound as if they need to sort out their systems - I have no experience of this, as when my DC went to school there was just a register twice a day. Thanks

I used to be a serial fainter when approached by someone with a syringe to take blood, so I sympathise with the girls and their injections.

Had a very lazy day in the end and have done nothing ....

motherinferior · 26/02/2016 16:04

WAF, definitely take her to GP or there will be mass outcry that'll have her down as having had to go to intensive care within the space of a few hours. If I know that lot, and I doWink

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/02/2016 18:55

Pissed and in lust. Again. Hic.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/02/2016 19:17

Oh FFS must get grip. Love Action by Human League playing Which Does Not Help.

MrsSchadenfreude · 26/02/2016 19:39

This is all wrong. Am like love sick teen. He's not even my type, FFS. Going home now. Sad mess.

BeachysFlipFlops · 26/02/2016 19:56

Oh Mrs S Wine

Cremo · 26/02/2016 22:31

Taxi for Mrs S!

Hey Rudy, we miss you. Looking forward to seeing you in a couple of weeks. Hope the fucknoodles fuck off. Xxx
WAF I was reading your post and could feel the floor coming towards me, myself. How utterly unbelievable of the school. You are so not all pfb. I'd have been incandescent with rage. Yes to GP. Oh and a new school. Fire the bastards. ( or write an artfully composed letter of seething rage)Grin

CointreauVersial · 26/02/2016 22:41

MrsS - hope you are home now, and nothing untoward has happened. Flowers

BD - that sounds daft, putting DM into a remote home. Well done sticking to your guns, and hope the weekend goes OK.

WAF - blimey, what a worry. The DCs' school has an automated system whereby DH and I get a text mid-morning if one of them hasn't registered. But as I deliver them straight to the door each morning it's nearly always because we are late and they've forgotten to go to the front desk to sign in; I never need to worry about them having got lost en route.

Rudy - FlowersFlowers hope things sort themselves out soon.

motherinferior · 27/02/2016 06:59

Timid voice saying it's usually a pretty good school, honestly...

BeachysFlipFlops · 27/02/2016 07:14

Have a good day, up East, MI, well as good as can be expected.

I'm up at the crackers, mainly because I have done nothing at all since Wednesday except walk around with a distended belly. I had been planning on going back to work on Monday, but this is taking rather longer than expected.

Hope your noodles unravel, Rudy. We have a bit of unraveling here to do with ds, but I can't start that until I feel a bit more sturdy IYKWIM.

It's a lovely clear morning here. The chickens just fell out of the hen house this morning. They must have been scrunched up, listening at the door for my arrival Smile

Blackduck · 27/02/2016 07:23

Morning Beachy! The image of the chickens made me :)
