magimedi · 10/02/2016 19:33

Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

Our living room is a DC-free zone for most of the time. They very rarely watch TV (nowadays, TV is only for oldsters like us, apparently), but can usually be found staring into some other (non-televisual) screen in the den/playroom, or their own bedrooms.

I still have to fight DH for the remote control, though. He watches a lot of random stuff.

hattymattie · 24/02/2016 20:50

Beachy - sounds awful - I didn't know such a thing could happen.

I'm going to watch One Child too - have already had glass of red!

Ade Edmonson seems such a nice man (Bake Off).

BTM - I missed implant news as well - are you getting bigger boobs?

bigTillyMint · 24/02/2016 21:13

GrinGrinGrin

Dental Implants!

Though I daresay I could do with the other type too!

WTF is that Morgana on GBBO? I like Ade Ed too - seems just the kind of person you might have as a neighbour round here!

Lalsy, packing his bagShock That happens 5mins after my 2 should have left in the morning here.

MrsSchadenfreude · 24/02/2016 21:44

Ugh, Beachy, hope they sort your bits out quickly. That sounds grim.

Cremo · 24/02/2016 22:16

Beachy, mate, been there I'm afraid. Had all this sorted at the same time as Hyst .the is comfort is horrible I know. For me I felt like my bladder was full to bursting every time I had my period, but it wasn't at all. Mush sympathy for the aftershock of the diagnosis too. But, as you say, it can indeed be sorted v with keyhole etc. Hope you are snuggled up on sofa with wine. Brr it's cold tonight
Adrian Edmundson is epic. I thought he was rather marvellous as Count Rostov in W&P recently, on the telly.
Yes you are right cv : only people as ancient a us watch TV. Dd and the Heshe don't even own one out of choice apparently.Hmm

magimedi · 24/02/2016 22:24

Beachy - at least it sounds as if there is a solution. But stil lsounds awful - much love.

BTM, I thought probably teeth....And I know - say what you like about my ds, he absolutely rocks at bag packing Grin.

Blackduck · 25/02/2016 06:00

Oh Beachy - big hugs.......

BeachysFlipFlops · 25/02/2016 07:48

Actually feel very chipper this morning. Probably because I'm not allowed to drive and we are so rural, I'm confined to house and garden. Heaven! So I'll be pottering all day, with local friends popping in for coffee and chat.

Felt most bad about abandoning ddad this week, but turns out my DB and SIL are swinging by to stay with him on the way home from seeing friends. All happy coincidence!

Crem, can they do a whole hysterectomy via keyhole surgery? My friend has something akin to a C section and it's taken her ages to recover.

MrsSchadenfreude · 25/02/2016 07:49

Don't they just pull your womb out of your foof these days, Beachy? Grin

BeachysFlipFlops · 25/02/2016 08:18

That's what they did on Call the Midwife, on the kitchen floor!

wordassociationfootball · 25/02/2016 08:38

Lordy Beachy, your poor tangled innards. Have a relaxing day. How do you feel post-GA, hungover and weird?

I would like nicer gnashers. Considering front implants at some point. Have a v grey line round gum of dead tooth beind veneer.

Watched The Bridge season one ep 2. Had to give DH a printout of ep 1 synopsis as he fell asleep. Will have to Di same for ep 2 when we - in italics - watch ep 3 Angry

Feel at a loss having sent NY novel to my agent. Plenty of other work/admin to do however. Agent lives new title but has 8 full length MSs to read ahead of mine, unprecedentedly busy so won't hear from her for 2 months which is good for distance but bad for getting it out to publishers.

V interested to look at the swimming bids Magi.

wordassociationfootball · 25/02/2016 08:40

Sorry contact Bletchley to decode my typos.

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2016 08:48

WAFGrin

Walked DD to school this morning en route to trop meeting place as clear blue sky and I am now having a coffee and Danish while I wait for the othersSmile Apparently she enjoyed the film last night, but you would have had to be doing Alevel Economics (and be sitting next to your tutor/dad) to understand itGrin

Cremo · 25/02/2016 08:48

Erm no Beachy, I was opened up, east to west for the hyster following an old scar ( when I had peritonitis , the fixing of which possibly caused some of the scarring)
But adhesions can be dealt with by keyhole I think. Someone who knows something useful will come along soon.

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2016 08:49

Beachy - enjoy a few days off to recover from the GA, you poor thing.

Cremo · 25/02/2016 08:51

And omg that scene in midwife caused 3 people in this house to leave the roomShockShockShock

motherinferior · 25/02/2016 09:01

I am wrestling with narrative. Argh.

Rosebag · 25/02/2016 09:09

Me too, tilly I did wonder if you were getting the boobs done.... So it's dental. How many teeth...full set?

Ooooph... beachy I hope you're recovering. Adhesions are known to cause a lot of discomfort I've heard. Great if they can sort them out though. Take it a bit easier for a few days. Flowers

I am feeling a little tired this morning. Top night at the theatre. Agree waf about Book of Mormon. If anyone just needs a couple of hours of smutty naughty rudeness and profanity, I'd say youve got to see it. In many ways it's the type of show which could just as easily have flopped. The dancing and singing is really first class though...just camp enough to be funny. But don't go if you're the prudish sort or if blasphemy offends you!! I think what I most liked about it is the way it unashamedly pokes fun. Something we as a nation have forgotten how to do in this age of OTT political correctness and pathological fear of daring to offend anyone. We need to laugh at one another more.

motherinferior · 25/02/2016 10:17

So essentially it's Springtime for Mormon?Wink

NUFC69 · 25/02/2016 10:22

Oh, Beachy, that's awful. Be very kind to yourself, I know it takes me a week to recover from a GA, so DON'T DO TOO MUCH!

Rosebag · 25/02/2016 11:58

mi that's exactly what DH said when we were on the tube going home Grin. Yes.

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2016 13:15

Rose, it could be anything from 1 - 4 plus new crowns, etc, depending on what I decide onConfused

Rosebag · 25/02/2016 17:57

That's a lot of work...have you been in pain? Shock

bigTillyMint · 25/02/2016 18:10

No. I have a mouthful of fillings from being a child/teen, root canals from years ago, most of which were so heavily filled/on pins that 3 are now missing/broken.... It sounds delightful, doesn't it? The only plus is that I haven't got much gum diseaseConfused I feel like Shane McGowan before he had the work doneSad
