Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

hattymattie · 20/02/2016 20:10

Hope you're feeling a little better NU.

I am not allowed to watch nice Kipling programme because DS wants to watch Attack of the Clones! DH has overruled me on the grounds that last time I got to watch Philomena.

MI - your charity shop haul sounds fab - I love a good rummage.

Mrs S - we need a photo of you between your two beaux Wink

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2016 20:22

Bankside Caminos was a squash around a not-very-wide table IIRC (but OK other than that!), Caminos Monument is shut on Saturdays!

Las Iguanas looks great, but would that be OK to get to for Norf Londoners? Similarly Tas - both near to Waterloo - would that be OK?

I'd love South Indian by Kings Cross, but does anyone know of somewhere I could try to book?!

Cremo · 20/02/2016 20:23

I have actually eaten in Caravan and it was/is spendy, but very delicious indeed. Not as nice as Moro though. Grin

Yes , Camino Bankside was grand, except for the perchy chairs.

We are glued to Icelandic crime tonight Hatty, (in the BBC4 Noir Slot) After Dh finishes watching The Voice , which I cannot bear.

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2016 20:33

I found this Veggie Indian next to Euston. Not sure if you can book...

Someone make a choice! The tree restaurant was good upstairs with a big group as we could move around. Whaddya think?

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/02/2016 20:42

Ravi Shankar and the Diwana Bhel Poori are the ones I know - not sure if they're big enough for our massive party(!)

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/02/2016 20:43

X posts BTM - it's meant to be! Shall we try it?

Lalsy · 20/02/2016 20:47

Drummond Street sounds great as long as we can drink!

hattymattie · 20/02/2016 20:49

Crem - we missed episode one of Trapped - inspite of the fact it is on in France and UK at the same time. We also managed to miss the French catch-up (can't access iplayer).

Having a panic as have realised Brexit might mean we cannot afford to send DD2 to university in the UK.

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2016 21:02

Aah! Lalsy, the drinks might be a problem. Non-alcho onlyGrin

So we are back to Camino Bankside/Las Iguanas Southbank/Tree Southbank???

Collymollypuff · 20/02/2016 21:07

South Bank would be much much better for me than Camino Bankside.

Collymollypuff · 20/02/2016 21:09

All gf stuff very clearly marked on Iguanas menus, so happy to go with that, or the Tree.

Collymollypuff · 20/02/2016 21:10

Doesn't look like Iguanas S. Bank is open Sat eve, though. Sad

www.iguanas.co.uk/locations

Collymollypuff · 20/02/2016 21:11

Oh stuff that, I am a fool. Yes it bloody is.

Collymollypuff · 20/02/2016 21:12

So, just to recap, Iguanas S. Bank is indeed open on Sat eves.

And there's a happy hour.

motherinferior · 20/02/2016 21:17

Sadly no, BeachyGrinGrinGrin

motherinferior · 20/02/2016 21:20

Sorry. Phone malfunctioning. Shouting at the telly Kipling programme. Smile

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2016 21:43

We have that on, MI!

So shall I try to book Las Ig?

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2016 21:52

Wow, the cocktails look fab!
Just rang Las Ig - they do 2 hour time-slots. So if we booked from 7, we would have to go at 9. We could go into the bar before/after, but they can't reserve a space as such and it would be v busy.

Shall I do it or shall we try the tree where we might be less rushed? Could go to the bar in Las Ig for cocktails first?!

BeachysFlipFlops · 20/02/2016 21:53

Was the Tree place where we got the whole upstairs last time? The pub near Waterloo. That was good. Otherwise happy wherever. Being super selfish, Waterloo and Southbank are lovely for being able to get home easier!

We have just been to a 50th birthday party, which in MN terms, was quite possibly the worst. Bright lights, no music at all, cold pizza and sausage snacks. Quite odd.....the very fact that I'm home now speaks volumes. Smile

motherinferior · 20/02/2016 21:55

I have abandoned Kipling for About A Boy. Hennessy and/or his scriptwriter are driving me bonkers. 'Mutiny' ffsAngry

bigTillyMint · 20/02/2016 21:56

Beachy, that doesn't sound a patch on the one you went to on Friday nightGrin

I will enquire about the Tree pub (upstairs)!

Lalsy · 20/02/2016 22:00

I thought Tree was lovely as we could move around, and hear each other.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/02/2016 22:03

Ravi Shankar has beer and wine apparently... according to the link.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/02/2016 22:08

Sorry - I realise I've missed about 20 (twenty, XX) posts on the subject...
