Well, I've grabbed the bull by the horns & am leaping into the new thread........

Felt very sad no one else had started one whilst I scoffed dined.

If no one like the title I am more than happy to have it deleted & go with anything else.

DH has taken over the catering for the month of February......... the food is good but the angst is another matter Grin

I am back at the hotel and quite sober, in bed with a nice cup of tea. The joys of getting older. Also have a John Ke Carre, picked up in Oxfam books (but unfortunately not the one about my friend), so will read that when I have finished the new Anne Tyler.

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/02/2016 22:55

Vair restrained Mrs S. Love the pics of your girls on FB.

We spent quite a lot of today driving to and fro Rudy's neck of the woods (gave you a wave Rudy) to take pfb ds out for a rather nice lunch. It was lovely to see him and all very civilised.

Cremo · 20/02/2016 23:40

How is your gorgeous boy getting on GGG? Like the idea of civilised meal with offspring.

Just had an almighty, ranting and furious row with Dh over a situation in my work which got twisted around to being about his work. Hmm All flash in the pan stuff, all forgiven now, after we both said we were tired and emotional after a very long week's work. And very very sorry I am off to bed, n case it all kicks off again.

Happy to Go round the Mulberry Bush or indeed meet y'all in a greasy spoon. I am coming for the chat and the camaraderie, not the vol au vents.Grin well maybe a bit for the vol au vents.HmmGrin

GiddyGiddyGoat · 20/02/2016 23:50

He's on good form Crem - seems quite settled and happy (PHEW!).

Blackduck · 21/02/2016 07:48

Escort late to the party...I'm not keen on Las Igs as I think the cocktails are meh (all miked stuff if you know what I mean) and the food is also meh..... Prefer the tree....

I need to catch up on Trapped, but have spent the week watching Shetland...

Blackduck · 21/02/2016 08:08

Escor!? Sorry.....

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2016 10:16

Escort? New job, BD? GrinGrinGrin

bigTillyMint · 21/02/2016 10:26

Grin I have messaged the Tree. Fingers crossed!

Cremo · 21/02/2016 11:24

Boo to meh cocktails and food.BD
Also watching Shetland and reading Peter May's new one set on the isle of Harris. Between those and Trapped , my story lines keep getting muddled. Confused
Wading through Spin as well. There are only so many subtitles I can handle I think.

BTM, afair , the manager at Mulberry was very amenable. Do make sure , if you can that something gf if included. They weren't particularly knowledgable about it before. By the way thanks for taking organising on. Appreciated muchly.

GGG glad the pfb is thriving and settled. X

Collymollypuff · 21/02/2016 11:34

I do best if I just order a separate gf dish, usually a steak and salad, or fish and salad, which most pubs can manage. Then I have to sit and not share, but I'm fine with that, as long as nobody minds. Having a range of gf sharing dishes isn't necessarily ideal, because of the contamination issue. Blush Sorry to be difficult. Blush Even a few crumbs on a fork can be a problem, because my system is now used to never having wheat at all.

bigTillyMint · 21/02/2016 11:43

OK, will bear that in mind when I hear back from them. Herbs, would you want gf too? And GGG?
Hopefully it will be fairly simple to organise....

Collymollypuff · 21/02/2016 11:43

Actually, looking at the current menu, the most reliably gf choice would be this salad:

Herb-roasted squash, beetroot, tomato, goat's cheese salad quinoa, broccoli and mixed leaves (v) £10

GiddyGiddyGoat · 21/02/2016 11:48

Mulberry Bush fine for me - agree that the upstairs space was good. I might join Molly on doing my own thing re food - so don't count me in for sharing platter purposes... but do count me in for large amounts of red wine. Ta. X

Lalsy · 21/02/2016 13:05

Of course Molly, everyone should have what they want anyway - yours sounds rather yummy! My sister has serious allergies and meals out were always a bit fraught in case the people at the next table ordered peas......

Collymollypuff · 21/02/2016 14:05

Happily I've never noticed an allergic reaction to breathed-in wheat, but have a friend who often talks about the dangers of breathed-in nut dust, from a packet opened some distance away. Shock

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2016 20:31

I have come to the conclusion that two things that are indispensable as you get older are a facial epilator and Root Touch Up. I am sincerely hoping that Tena Lady isn't going to be the third.

Food allergies are utterly shit - commiserations to those of you who suffer. God forbid that I ever become allergic to wine or gin. Or cheese. I can cope with being allergic to prawns and strawberries, but an allergy to gin would finish me off.

MontserratCaballe · 21/02/2016 20:34

I'm with you on the facial epilator, MrsS. I have one of those springy things which takes practice but sorts out the tache very effectively. I'd be magnum PI without it.

Looking forward to joining you in the 12th Smile. All a bit stressful here right now but hoping to be more laid back by then.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2016 20:41

I was the world's most unhairy person until about three years ago. Legs and arms pretty much devoid of hair, sparse of pubes. Now if it wasn't for my facial epilator, I'd look like Lenin.

Lalsy · 21/02/2016 22:03

MrsS Grin.

Is it electric?

Lalsy · 21/02/2016 22:09

Looking forward to meeting you Monty, with or without the tache!

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/02/2016 22:12

Lalsy - no, it's a springy coil thing. Cheap and effective.

motherinferior · 21/02/2016 22:12

I remain hilariously unhairy. I cheerfully make a joke of this to the Inferiorettes, given that we live in a culture that appears to be horrified about normal body hair on women (and because unlike some people I would prefer my daughters not to feel their mother is perfect and they are horribly flawed SadAngry).

motherinferior · 21/02/2016 22:13

I have met Monty and she is entirely devoid of tache.

Cremo · 21/02/2016 22:18

I really should invest Mrs S. I feel my facial hair has also been at the Miraclegro. There is a light in the Ladies at work that makes me look like an extra in Planet Of The Apes, and then when I go home I forget to deal with it and horrify myself all over again the following day. A bit of Jolen used to sort it out , but no longer. God it's all so high maintenance after a certain age. Between that and the dry leg lizard skin, the greying locks, the wretched gammy leg, the flabby girth and failing eyesight, it's surprising I even go out.
Sad

I have been watching The Night Manager and suddenly saw the point of Tom Hiddlestone Wink
