Ootd is a plum tube skirt, JCrew grey and black striped merino jumper & black ankle biker boots. Would have paired with leather jacket but was chucking it down on school run so wore parka instead.

I liked what you said on the expensive thread Lara although I don't think everyone got it. They were a bit fixated on posh sloaney look rather than anything else.

Hope you get better soon Blingy and Viva. Dd2 is also a limpet. I try never to allow her in bed with me as I get no sleep.

I love my Paige Hoxton's Karcheer but interested in finding something else too as could do with some new jeans. I went cheap & got GAP true skinnies but the waist to hip ratio is wrong for me.

Am on a spending ban till DH gets his bonus in February as we've had an expensive couple of months.

AmberNectarine · 07/01/2016 10:31

OOTD here is navy oversized cotton shirt (IDLF for uniqlo), black goldsign skinnies, black leather flat OTK boots, gunmetal Tiffany cuff, Monica vinader silver/labradorite ring and black Falabella bag. Dug out an old black Zara belted puffa coat and actually really like it, looks a bit Milanese, I think (no fur on hood Mara - you're right about the cheap synthetic stuff looking awful).

Bit casual for work but I like it!

Get well soon blingy

Ordered some black Nike blazers in the NAP sale as have wanted some for ages. Also did a big spree for DCs on Alex and Alexa.

shopafrolic · 07/01/2016 10:32

Yes, how are they Marsha?
Blingy how Vogue are you calling your Burberry coat an accessory? Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 07/01/2016 10:37

also raining here, has been since the early hours

OOTD is mid grey cable knit pattern tights, aubergine pleated wool mix skirt, long sleeve mid grey tee and grey, white, pink and aubergine fairisle pattern cardigan. it honestly looks better than it sounds Grin bling if you can call mine bling is 3 silver rings with amber, garnet and amethyst, three fine silver chains with a dragonfly, hearts, and a flamingo on each respectively, silver bracelet with heart charm and a pair of twist pattern silver hoops. all are sterling silver, i don't wear plate metals really

shopafrolic · 07/01/2016 10:58

Just ordered a whole load of R&B skinnies off the Outnet. Some of them have 33" inside leg!!!! Will report back.
What are the views on yellow stitching on dark blue denim? Do you guys wear them or do you always stick to dark blue thread?

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 07/01/2016 11:07

i dont think i own any denim with yellow stitching these days. it wouldn't put me off though if the jeans themselves fit well and looked good. i think it can look good if the colour of the denim is right, blue rather than black for instance, it would put me right off black denim if it had yellow stitching

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/01/2016 13:06

Shop my Acne Pin skinnies (my newest and hence most-worn jeans) are dark blue with the yellow stitching. I didn't consider this when I bought them, even paid Selfridges £20 to use the same thread to hem them mug. But I wouldn't wear them out out. If you do, and like your jeans to look smart, I'd stick with the dark stitching.

Dry it's this cardigan so sort of "normal" length. Comes above hips on me.

OOTD is navy H&M cigarette pants (really cheap but actual bright navy!), navy l/s Heattech, navy and white stripe Uniqlo silk shirt tucked in w/ sleeves rolled up, and tan monk shoes again. Gold watch and bracelet, plus an extra ring and 2 fine necklaces from Z at Accessorize.

Kitty the boots have gone. I am still getting pangs of disappointment that they weren't as perfect as they looked!

FedupNagging · 07/01/2016 13:36

Viva and Blingy hope you start to feel better soon.

One how is Onecat today? Your bling sounds lovely - and unusual.

Have so far spent the day going to the tip and walking the hound in the wind & rain (oh the glamour that is my life) so ootd is v old next petite skinny jeans, pink boden jumper, Michael Kors puffa jacket, grey hat and leaky hunters. No makeup and hair that leaves a lot to be desired. I'll get my coat...

FedupNagging · 07/01/2016 13:51

I had a fairly successful shop yesterday. Couldn't get the skinnies I wanted but managed to get another similar pair from I&C - cant find a picture online as they are new season and sadly had to pay fp.

Also picked up a red funnel neck sweater from this brand - again no photo but almost identical to this from Whistles

And finally one of these. dh laughed Hmm

shopafrolic · 07/01/2016 14:51

My DH hates mine Fedup - must be a boy thing. I love mine - want a second bobble but they are £££
Blair right thing to do to send them back but sympathise re: pangs of disappointment - remember when I had to send the Jimmy Choo bikers back? :(
Just back from having all my gum treatment at the periodontist - hurts so much right now - unbelievable.
Am on a big girls night out tomorrow with some of my gorgeous mummy friends - thai food, cocktails and dancing - can't wait but this weather is going to scupper my planned outfit choice of the new HL dress.

KittyHello · 07/01/2016 15:21

Love the hat fedup great colour bobble.

OOtd for me, well due to wet weather I had to resort to black cigarette pants, paired with animal print pattern blouse from &OtherStories, black LKB Florissa's, beige cuff, black Jaeger coat, GD bag.

I was thinking about trying the jacket with jeans, I tried it with black trousers, but decided I didn't love it enough to keep it, it made me look old grown up Shock

maradesbois · 07/01/2016 15:26

Afternoon Voguettes,

Stokey yes, that's exactly what I meant about the concept of expensive, that the assumption was style equals bland and impractical. I am trying to up my game while keeping wardrobe relevant to my lifestyle. One small thing that made a big difference was replacing my crap loungewear (half mast velour trackie bottoms, navy and from princesse tam tam but as awful as they sound) with nice grey cotton white co ones. A small thing but makes a difference to me, like to be comfy at home & so those awful trews were probably my most worn item.

Linus tks for brooks bros shirt recommendation, am going to try. Dh gets lots of shirts there and have had some v cute bits for ds but never looked at the womens.

Ootd is ts leighs with zara ivory silk shirt and new Marni cardigan plus flat tod's chelsea boots with rubber sole for the rain.

Fedup and Shop love those hats! Didn't know you could replace the bobbles, like it.

maradesbois · 07/01/2016 15:28

Oh and Shop night out sounds fab. Let us know what outfit you decide on.

Karcheer · 07/01/2016 17:11

Ok don't laugh, I'm dressed like a bogey today ootd - jcrew painter top and cardi in khaki, some very old blue ( with orange stitching) skinnies from Zara which I found last night and gold flip flops (just back from a pedi).

mara I have come to the same conclusion, I basically need to go with my lifestyle rather than fighting against it.
I need dog walking gear, hanging around the house clothes, coffee/lunch with friends/popping out to do chores clothes.

A couple of things for nice dinners.

I don't need ultra smart or glam.

AmberNectarine · 07/01/2016 18:11

Did you get that dress in the end shop - did it fit?

shopafrolic · 07/01/2016 19:23

Amber the dress looks good - definitely not as fitted as the red one and possibly a little large at the waist but I loved it so much and had been waiting so long that I have kept it.

Drywhitethanks · 07/01/2016 19:26

Ah I have hit sales jackpot for me, slight over exaggeration but am chuffed went to collect

Topazandpearl · 07/01/2016 19:27

The expensive thread has had me paying more attention as well. My OOTD was blue Me&Em ruched dress (the same one Blair has) with my black leather Warehouse biker, black opaque so and Pistols. Accessories were wedding and engagement rings, with eternity ring on my right hand, Alex Monroe silver dragonfly necklace, watch, Radley Grosvenor bag in black and grey scarf (links to follow).

To my disappointment Brora haven't discounted what I was after. Any opinions on the quality of John Lewis vs Uniqlo cashmere?

Drywhitethanks · 07/01/2016 19:28

this absolutely lovely on and so useful, will wear a lot.
And then I just popped into Mint V and found

Drywhitethanks · 07/01/2016 19:34

Bother, can't find it online to link....basically something very similar but in cream. Another brilliant basic. Think I have enough cotton Broderie tops now Smile

Drywhitethanks · 07/01/2016 19:35

FREEZING today......heatech and padded coat didn't do it at all Sad

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 07/01/2016 19:36

I used to do the opposite Karcheer, I spend most of my time at work and look terrible in ultra casual clothes, but I realised I was spending just as much on jeans and things that I couldn't wear to work. Oops!

You don't sound like a bogey! And your feet must have been frozen in flip flops - couldn't believe how chilly it had got tonight.

Shop I know :( we need to start a biker boots disappointment support group. I might have found a pair of Uggs I quite like - the leather ones, don't worry people ;)

Topazandpearl · 07/01/2016 19:36

jacket
scarf

Topazandpearl · 07/01/2016 19:37

Very nice Dry.

Karcheer · 07/01/2016 20:31

I've still not warmed up!

I really like this dress anyone seen anything similar for about £200 less?
