OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 31/12/2015 10:42

sorry about your aunt lib i hope she makes a good recovery Thanks

i'm not sure abut holidays next year, i think we are looking at few long weekends in europe somewhere.

blair your honeymoon sounds amazing, i am ahem and it's lovely that you're feeling brighter

shop fingers crossed for job news

Longislandicetee · 31/12/2015 11:02

Sorry about your Aunt Lib fingers crossed for her speedy recovery.

Shop forgot you posted about a job, will be watching with interest and fingers crossed there too.

I am just about to call BA and book the long haul, that's all set as is May. I am seriously thinking about the October half term with just the kids and I - but would need to be short haul, warm and feel safe. Oh and other children there! Or is it just my kids that make obsessive friendships on holiday?Grin

Dh is an expert skier, i have never been but did offer the Feb half term up for skiing but he said he's too busy. I think my dcs would like it. As long as I don't have to see it and worry I will be fine!

VivaVegas · 31/12/2015 11:56

I can relate to that Blingy, DS is only 7 and will be a better skier than me soon. He has no fear and oodles of confidence which worries me. I think it's a boy thing!

FedupNagging · 31/12/2015 11:57

Lib wishing your Aunt a speedy recovery.

Blair nice to see you back and sounding much better. Your honeymoon sounds amazing and will be such an awesome experience.

The Hudson boots are going back sadly. Basically I'd like boots like these ones in black. This style goes with so much in my wardrobe. So if anyone see's some around the £100 mark, let me know. Tia Smile

I am definitely still on for the 23rd; looking forward to seeing you all.

Shop how about Turkey? Weather is beautiful and not particularly expensive to eat out - I loved the food the wine, not so much Good luck with the job.

Loving everyone's holiday plans - Blingy you are super organised!

LinusLovesBretons · 31/12/2015 12:32

Quickly popping in to show fedup these

I have been tempted but I really don't need another pair of boots.

lib I hope your aunt recovers quickly! (((Hugs)))

LinusLovesBretons · 31/12/2015 12:33

Did I just link the boots you're sending back?! Only just noticed yours were Hudson as well.

FedupNagging · 31/12/2015 13:34

Yes Linus those are the boots that are going back! But thanks anyway.

Have just noticed these from Boden which might do the trick. Does anyone have them? Wondering how narrow they are?

LinusLovesBretons · 31/12/2015 14:08

Doh!

Why are they going back? just in case I give into temptation

FedupNagging · 31/12/2015 14:24

Linus the front of the boots has too big a gap at the front and it didn't really look right. Also there were a couple of marks on the heel and a small bump in the sole which felt strange so all in all they are a no go.

We have friends coming for dinner before we head to the party tonight so I need to stop playing on the ipad and get some jobs done!

Karcheer · 31/12/2015 14:30

Lib wishing you're aunt a speedy recovery.

I like the boots esp the boden ones, boots are however one thing I don't need.

I think I'm going to start with bras next week... Will book an app at bravissimo... Get the foundations right ;)

At the car wash with the rest of my town

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2015 15:04

Lib sorry to hear about your Aunt, hope she recovers quickly.

QueenC thanks! But we are travelling with a friend who has loads of family in HK, meeting another friend out there who lives nearby in China, and visiting the first friend's GF in Tokyo, where she is from Grin. Not so much of a honeymoon but at least we'll have expert guides!

We are doing 3 holidays too, the 2nd will be a NYC break for my birthday, and in the autumn we will go to the PILs' gîte in the Loire Valley. Then 2017 might be quieter on that front, but we might think about having a baby instead. [eek!]

Stokey, Blingy, One and Fedup thanks, I am feeling much better, except when I drink. (Minimal amounts over Christmas gave me a stomach ache) Had a lush sleep of 11 hours last night, was great to be back in my own bed.

What's everyone doing/wearing tonight?

shopafrolic · 31/12/2015 15:17

No plans here. Currently full of cold playing tiddlywinks with DS. Crap TV, champers and a Thai meal for us I think. Hope some of you will be glamming it up and partying?

Drywhitethanks · 31/12/2015 16:08

Hello all.
Blair good to hear you again and happy Christmas etc. Lovely presents. I hope 2016 will bring better health. Your belated honeymoon sounds wonderful.

Holiday wise DH went bonkers and booked us a 2 week med cruise in August. Have never cruised, he's the last man on earth I thought would go on one total opposite to me but I'm v excited about the wardrobe potential and guaranteed sunshine after our broken leg stay cation this year.

So, am feeling more positive about my Grecian Godess outfit after a trip to Claire's accessories today. Now have a gold leaf head band. --bet you never thought Claire's would appear on MNVGrin-

AND.... One of my NY resolutions is to let Shop dress me, so I've ordered the red JV flats Smile

And finally ... I'd like to wish all of you lovelies a fantastic New Year. I've loved 2015 on MNV, hope to meet up with you next year and continue enjoying this wonderful thread.

Xxx

MarshaBrady · 31/12/2015 16:50

Blair fabulous to see you back! Merry Christmas and love your scarf. Your honeymoon sounds incredible.

Lib I'm sorry to hear about your aunt, I hope all is ok.

Shop hope you feel better soon.

One thing I'd love is to live closer to each other to do more mus, imagine the effect on the bank balance. Looking forward to Jan one, and Autumn big one.

So glad you're all here wonderful friends, go into a cold panic anytime I accidentally hide this thread, never stop! I shall be back with more love later on.

Haven't decided on outfit yet but I followed my own advice and tried to buy scallops from the fishmonger, but they had sold out, darnit.

shopafrolic · 31/12/2015 16:55

Damn you Dry you beat me to it Grin (Yay to another 'recommendedbyShop' purchase BTW)

So, Voguettes....... what can I say? Another stylish year passes. One in which I discovered I wasn't an Autumn after all but actually a Jewel Winter :)

Style resolutions - make more of an effort to put make up on before the school run (it makes me feel better), wear contact lenses more often, and, like Cranagh learn how to style my hair (not used to longer hair - look like a crazy lady most of the time).

Thank you for all being fabulous, thank you for the MUs, the prosecco, the chat on my down days, the general supportive nature and most of all the fun - so much fun. Teetering down the streets of London after way too many proseccos, swapping clothes with Voguettes, learning so much about you all, and most of all remembering that it is still ok to have loads of stylish fun times even once you become a mummy.

To the Voguettes who joined the thread this year - thanks for keeping things fresh, to the ones who were in it since the start - thanks for keeping me in :)
Love to you all, I am on my first glass of champers, here's to an even better 2016.

HAPPY NEW YEAR VOGUETTES - MWAH!

Oh and Marsha......... Grin

LinusLovesBretons · 31/12/2015 16:57

Did Blair mention the B Word?! As DH doesn't want another DC I am counting on you to provide us with a MNV baby!

Your honeymoon sounds very exciting! We have just booked our Easter break, nothing special but close to the DGP's.

shop quiet night in for us as well. A couple of friends are coming over but it'll all be very relaxed. Champagne, good wine and fingerfood is all they're getting.

I am not a big NYE celebrator (if this isn't a word yet, it should be). I never did celebrate until I met DH (his group of friends would always organise some big shindig) and I am quite happy not to have to anymore now we live abroad. It always seemed a bit forced to me and I hate having to kiss virtual strangers because 'It's NYE!!!' Hmm

I am going to wait until later to wish everyone a Happy NY but one of my resolutions for 2016 is to be a better MNVoguette as I have been slacking recently.

libertydoddle · 31/12/2015 17:07

Love the NYE love in!!!

I may not get back on here later so thank you all voguettes, new, old, regular and occasional for all the great laughs, chat and support this year. Here's wishing you all a fabulous 2016 Wine Wine

MarshaBrady · 31/12/2015 17:09

Ha you're making me want to open the champers in a mo.

MONKEYBARS |0| to you too Shop Grin love to you for being you and generally being ace

Linus sounds fabulous, relaxing or going out are both good imo

To everyone on this thread this is for being fabulous Thanks

MarshaBrady · 31/12/2015 17:09

Have a fab night Lib!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2015 17:10

That's a lovely resolution Dry - and sensible Grin Shop knows best!

Marsha what we need is a Voguette town - great shops, great bars and we all live locally!

I sort of wish I was having a quiet night in, it does feel like NYE is the one night of the year when you have to drink - but I am going to try and enjoy it anyway, even if I know I'm going to be driving home in the early hours. We are going to a house party, same as last year. I think I'm going to wear what I would have worn to my work Xmas do - Clover Canyon skirt and Iris & Ink crop top.

Linus we shall see Wink

So Happy New Year MNVoguettes! Another year over and hopefully many more to come, with lots of laughs, fun and fashion of course. So glad there is a MU planned just round the corner - will be fab to catch up properly. Here's to a stylish 2016! WineWineWine ought to be [fizz] but I'll see if I can add that from my phone instead

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2015 17:14

🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾🍾

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 31/12/2015 17:15

Hmm it works on phone but they don't show up on laptop! Meant to be popping champagne corks

shopafrolic · 31/12/2015 17:17

Let me know if MU in Jan is likely to extend into the evening - I migh appear once DH back from shooting but may not work.
Linus sounds delightful. Enjoy
Blair I missed a welcome back to you. Glad to hear you sounding rested.
DS Won the tiddlywinks championship. I must do better apparently Hmm
I have lots to think about in the next few months. Whether to set something style related up for fun and just see what happens, or whether to do something more sensible (or just stay as is). We'll see.
Lib have a fab evening
Watching Take That in concert. Weird just 3 of them. Big spectacular tho.....

shopafrolic · 31/12/2015 17:18

That works Blair how did you do that?
