Another style resolution for 2016 is to up my game grooming wise. Hair cut and coloured every 8 weeks, practice painting my nails and practice eye makeup.

shopafrolic · 30/12/2015 09:23

Lib have a fun trip
Mara you too - champagne sounds delicious (I've never dared try oysters)
Kitty love those sparkly boots. Dare you :)
Dry pics from your party look fab. Cool that the teens are happy to party with you all. But then you are super cool.
For those who do love the GG trainers they often have them reduced on the Anna website.
QueenC spend the money on something else - I just wear my Dubarrys to farm days or trainers if dry. I only go once a year max though - my hatred for those places is on a par with indoor play areas Grin
Am in that lost space between Christmas and NY and feeling a little flat. I forgot to take my ADs regularly over the break and am paying for it a bit now. We are starting to look for a holiday at Easter so I need some recommendations please. Where could we go for a child friendly, not megabucks, break. Somewhere sunny and warm, ideally near the sea. Was wondering what Portugal might be like at that time of year? All ideas welcome. Need to get it booked before DH changes his mind!

libertydoddle · 30/12/2015 09:24

Final post - I will pm you all re lunch time MU on 23rd Jan when I am back next week. Any suggestions for venue please pm me. Also Mara and stokey if you are organising an evening MU I might be able to make it.

FedupNagging · 30/12/2015 10:07

Had a fab time at the party last night - I wore a navy lace dress (précis petite) and Aldo heeled ankle boots with opaques. Fell into bed 2am ish so feeling a bit jaded atm. On the plus side, my makeup looks better this morning than it did last night Xmas Blush slattern

Glad your party went well Dry

Bernice (I think it's you!) I'm loving your outfit pins over the last couple of days.

Shop Flowers. How did your new kitchen hold up to all your Christmas entertaining? Portugal will definitely be warm at Easter although the sea cold and can be quite rough on the West Coast - the Algarve less so. How about The Canaries?

FedupNagging · 30/12/2015 10:26

Forgot to answer Queens questions:

Best buy definitely the Ash jordy platform pump - purchased in September and already cpw is pennies. Also the orange cross body bag from Fossil and boden navy coatigan.

Mistake buy not a mistake as such but I don't wear the SE pettys as much as I'd like as they are on the narrow side. Also a check shirt from Zara. I fear both of these may be ebayed in the NY.

Style resolution to wear more dresses and skirts instead of living in skinnies day in day out. Maybe even to wear some different styles. steady on fedup

QueenC · 30/12/2015 10:31

blingy I'm with you on clearing out the playroom-we've got a new TV in the living room so the old one has gone in the playroom so ive had to clear lots of crap out to make it fit.
shop you're right about not spending the money. I rarely go to those places anymore. Just felt so crap in my merrells yesterday.

Longislandicetee · 30/12/2015 11:00

Shop sorry you're feeling low hon, hopefully you will pick up in a few days. I am struggling to remember to take my iron first thing too as I am out of my routine. I agree with FedUp, I would look at Algarve, Canaries and Cyprus. What's your budget?

KittyHello · 30/12/2015 11:09

Good news due to change of plan I can make the MU lunch on 23rd Jan,hurrah, can't believe I couldn't make any last year Sad Lib count me in.

Dry party sounded fab

Great bag options Blingy I love the Nano.

Queen for walks in the woods etc I too just wear wellies if muddy or NB trainers if a bit drier. Embrace the wellington boot Grin

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 30/12/2015 11:31

i should be able to make the 23rd of Jan as well as long as i know in enough time for travel arrangements to be made!

favourite/best buy this year? probably my dr marten ameillta boots of my wool and cashmere coat from m&s
biggest mistake has probably been having too many winter clothes vs summer clothes
resolution is basically to take better care of myself. my standards have gone through the floor and its been nothing but the basics for a long time now

Karcheer · 30/12/2015 11:37

Morning girls,

shop sorry you're feeling down, I think it's partly this time of year. It's not one thing or another.
I'm not feeling great either tbh, but I'm feeling in a good frame of mood for a new year, I.e. I want to sort a lot of stuff out. Just cleared out dh wardrobe which was In a room that's been ripped apart (and currently has a hole in the roof), I was worried some of his things might be ruined, but they are ok. He has so many clothes, made me realise how rubbish I am at buying things (New Years resolution I reckon). I'd been nagging him to do it, but he hasn't and I'm just exhausted asking him, so figured I'd use my energy to just do it rather than nag.

I'm going to set myself a monthly clothes budget and force myself to spend it, this probably sounds a bit weird, but I'm thinking it'll force me to get into the habit of buying iykwim.
Second NYR is to try and keep up with you all a bit more!
Third is definitely to make more of an effort yesterday I hid as I went around the supermarket as I was worried id bump into someone I knew and i looked so bad!

AmberNectarine · 30/12/2015 12:07

I have another resolution - sort my nails out! I bite them and have had extensions on for a couple of weeks - feel so much better about them so will carry on with those until my nails are a sensible length by which time I hope the habit will be broken!

AmberNectarine · 30/12/2015 12:09

Of course I have a diary clash on 23rd but I should still be able to make the lunch, I'll just be well oiled for my night out afterwards Smile

Drywhitethanks · 30/12/2015 12:48

I'm still buzzing Grin had a FAB time last night, totallybrill. Have come to the conclusion that you can have all the stuff in the world but friends/family it what really does it for me Smile soppy . 5k of meat is plenty for 25. Totally not stressful, infact the lady doing my nails at 4 was Shock when I told her I was having a party at 7!!!!!
The girls 10-18 wanted to see my shoes, so we had fun trying them on. Felt pretty chuffed that they loved my ghillies didn't mention my orange legs

Right QueenC to answer your questions:

Fav purchase.....no big heros this year but Liberty's R and B boots have been a fantastic buy. Stan smiths were good too.
Mistakes.....a few, but like Lib, not expensive ones. Asos caged sandals, just can't get them to work, shorten my legs Xmas Sad ......a cream Uniqlo sweater, shop you were right. I've tried but I don't think the leather leggings are really me either.
Resolutions to keep only items that I trully love, to let Shop dress me, to stop trying to dress like other people but just accrpt my style, lara put it well "be true to yourself"

Anyone got a wish list yet?

Drywhitethanks · 30/12/2015 12:55

This (v inexpensive) top has just died. Worn to death for about 2/3years. 100% cotton, bracelet length sleeves. very sad. Please could you all keep an eye out for a replacement? Will pay if it is perfect. No rush.

MNV-Vol 66. The Christmas Edition.
QueenC · 30/12/2015 13:58

Sounds fab dry. I love entertaining. Lovely top-you should definitely be able to get a replacement come spring/summer.

Haven't really thought about a wish list but I'd like some trousers/smart joggers for the plane to vegas. Also a light jacket/smart Cardi for the evenings there. I think my pale grey ballet flats almost died last summer so they made need replacing. And I'm guessing I may need some work summer stuff. Ive got birthday/christmas dollars to spend in vegas so hoping to find some good stuff there.

QueenC · 30/12/2015 14:01

blingy I'd go for the givenchy.

OP posts:
Drywhitethanks · 30/12/2015 15:49

Blingy I'm with QueenC Celine or Givenchy.

I'm also continuing the hunt from last SS for some quality proper red ballet/pointy flats

shopafrolic · 30/12/2015 15:54

You should buy the red Jemima Vines Dry. V you

shopafrolic · 30/12/2015 15:56

Fedup will look at the Canaries. No set budget. But not a luxe break.
Off to look at bag links Blingy. Can I come and do your wardrobe edit? Have done two now...... I'd be brutal Grin

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2015 15:59

Blingy the Givenchy.

Shop hope all us much better after a restful day

Dry I'd like some pointy flats one day too

I thought I was going mad. Was really happy to have ordered swish champers from Ocado that was half price. Only to find Prosecco in the fridge. Confused Dh said it was substituted. How could that be?! That's not the same at all. Thankfully I just found out where he really put the champers. The Prosecco was old. I was >< close to emailing Ocado (who are generally fab). So glad I didn't!

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2015 16:00

I'm going to include Canaries in our Easter search. Good weather Inthink at Easter
