Phew that was long.

We had a great day at Winter Wonderland I recommend it if you like rides, and had cousins staying over. So have been out of sales zone for a few days.

  1. Favourite/most useful buy of the year - may be Rag&Bone devon boots as I'm so happy to have found a boot I like. But also Marant clusters, Marant fiji jumper and acne grey skinnies for sheer ability to wear them heaps (plus running stuff for cpw)
  2. Mistake buy/something you thought may be useful but turned out not to be - hmm a tartan jumper from the outnet, just hasn't had that much use
  3. Style resolutions for next year.... - buy a skirt.
MarshaBrady · 29/12/2015 19:44

I particularly like the AS dress Stokey did it turn up, was it ok?

shopafrolic · 29/12/2015 19:49

Favourite - (not sure I definitely bought them this year but....) HL leather skinnies, red HL dress and black Dune caged heels. Oh and my Pashli.
Mistake - a couple of cheap basic tops from GAP that look cheap and basic
Style resolution - wear my new silk scarf every bloody day until the CPW comes down Grin

MarshaBrady · 29/12/2015 19:59

Shop which is your new silk scarf? I must have missed the link

shopafrolic · 29/12/2015 20:07

Weston scarf am wearing it in my FB profile pic

KittyHello · 29/12/2015 20:34

In answer to Queen's questions
Favourite item(s) have to be grey Pistols and Tippi sweaters, black Boden chino shorts, lived in these in the summer
Mistake(s) flares and Swedish Hasbeen lookalike sandals, didn't wear the flares in the summer as cba getting them shortened and SH were to wear with flares, have now got them shortened and hope to wear them with SH sandals SS'16
Style Resolutions - like Marsha's to buy a skirt,

MarshaBrady · 29/12/2015 20:49

Kitty did you / will you buy the sparkly boots?

Shop nice

KittyHello · 29/12/2015 21:03

Unfortunately not Marsha I really like them but am really trying to be good and not buy too much and they are far too lovely to wear on the school run Grin

I've been really restrained this year and have surprised myself, a few months back someone Fedup? linked some grey Pettys and it was instant love but I resisted. The upside is that I can now afford to buy some better quality items.

Stokey · 29/12/2015 21:37

I'm in the country Marsha, back tomorrow so hoping I won't miss delivery. They do have the black in every size, just not in the sale & am too tight to pay FP!

I also have unworn flares, they're far too high-waisted to ever be comfy.

Forgot to say how much I like the silver bag, QueenC. And your Prada bag is fab Justa, great colour.

I have loved my Stans and recently have mostly wearing my furry gilet.

Need to think about style resolutions.

QueenC · 29/12/2015 22:18

Lovely scarf shop
I realised I forgot to answer the food question. Will ponder.
Another question very boring one. What do you wear on your feet if you go to a farm/adventure fam type place? I ended up wearing my merrell walking trainers as it was sunny so didn't want wellies on but I knew it would be too muddy for normal boots/trainers. I just felt so frumpy/unstylish though.

And amber, I give you a month before you break your shoe resolution Wink Grin

viva we often do a roasted sausage/veg thing. Can't remember the exact recipe but could find it for you but it's basically sausages roasted with apples, parsnips and garlic I think. With some kind of Potatoe dish. Easy to do a small seperate gluten free sausage one. Or some kind of frittata as that would be light? If you wanted to do pasta do you have a spiraliser? Corgettes are a fab substitute for spaghetti/pasta.

Thanks for the food responses. Have an Ocado delivery booked for tomorrow night so had to finish it tonight. Going to do slow cooked roast pork with roasted veg and potatoes. That way I can leave it and not have to worry about it too much!
Favourite buy, my Whistles block heel black boots, and the 2 Me&Em tops I bought in the Summer sale and have worn loads and am still wearing.
Mistakes, less than usual! Too many sandals in the summer but hopefully they'll come in use next year.
Style resolutions, to make time to sort out the rest of my clothes. Need a nice bag for work and a complete underwater overhaul!

justasecond · 29/12/2015 22:58

My best buy has been my AH maxi zip crossbody in burgundy as well as my grey long whistles coat bought in the sale in Jan. I was umming over the coat as it was the end of the winter but it was a good buy have worn it loads this a/w.
Mistakes, karen millen boots that are too small.
Style resolution is to wear stuff that I think is too fancy/going out more often. And generally to shop less but better quality.
Queenc I would wear my black nike trainers to that sort of thing I think they look ok with most outfits.

Longislandicetee · 29/12/2015 23:07

Loved the cut out sweater - was that Vegas?

Didn't realise you were in nyc already Marsha? Hope you, Lib and Mara having a good time. And Dry too. patiently awaits drunk Dry postGrin

Really interesting questions Queenc. I looked back over my 2015 on pin to review my purchase. I have really not bought many clothes. I think I have probably spent 50% of what I did last year not that dh believes mehmm]

I put myself on a work clothes ban because it was all getting a bit same-y. Loved my Hugo Boss dress the most. I wouldn't say I regret the blue Roland Mouret dress I bought, but it was a size too big (I must have been bloated and hormonal!Blush) and doesn't look as good. Casual clothing I used the most was the silver warehouse quilt jacket (a great buy). Have worn it a lot! And I love the Michael Kors jumpsuit. Mara said to me that MK clothes just suit me and I should go with it. Very true!

I think this has more been the year of the accessories. Bought 4 bags - 2 of which, Mulberry Bayswater and MK Jetset have been weekend staples. I bought a lot of bling this year but most loved the Accessorize stuff I bought for holidays and the Givenchy leather bracelet which I wear most weeks. Oh and sparkly shoes. Lots of sparkly shoes, which I may regret!

New Years resolution....I am due a serious wardrobe de clutter!Blush

Drywhitethanks · 30/12/2015 01:31

Vbloody lovd aparty, I'm going to make a resolution to have more and with teenagers who make me feel young and old at the same time Xmas Confused...............brilliant!

QueenC · 30/12/2015 07:50

Morning dry, sounds like a good night Xmas Grin. How's the head?

Really interesting reading everyone's responses. And we don't seem to have made many mistakes which is good.
blingy tell your dh that I agree with you-you haven't bought much this year. I was about to suggest you must be due a new bag but then saw you have bought four! I'd totally forgotten about those! We should have a meet up at your house SATC style whilst you try everything on in your wardrobe and we say yes or no and be on hand to take the cast offs Xmas Grin

justa maybe I need something like Nike. They don't really suit me but then neither do my practical merrells and at least they'd look better than those. I love my keds but being metallic leather im a bit wary of wearing them in mud.

OP posts:
MarshaBrady · 30/12/2015 08:20

QueenC I'd wear the Sorel boots, I don't mind getting them muddy. Or wellies if I had some.

Blingy had to rewind, typo should have been NYE. Although would've been fun to be NYC

Dry sounds good

QueenC · 30/12/2015 08:28

marsha ive been looking at sorrels and cheaper versions and nearly ordered some last night. But now I'm wondering if trainers are better as can be worn in summer too. Not sure why I'm worrying about this so much. Ive got my kids through the preschool years and so only go to these places in the holidays nowadays instead of weekly Confused

OP posts:
VivaVegas · 30/12/2015 08:40

Queen we went out to a similar place yesterday and I knew it would be really muddy so sore my wellies. I quite like the look of wellies with skinnies and a parka (and my new bobble hat!).
I bought some Sorels last year but have kept them for if its icy or snowy here and for our ski holidays.
I definitely want some leather trainers for this type of thing in spring. I have canvas converse and (pale green!) suede gazelles so not really suitable for damp but not muddy weather.

Longislandicetee · 30/12/2015 08:51

Ohh Marsha, I was marvelling about the extent of modern technology that I was chatting to you yesterday and didn't even know you were in a different country! Oh well, it could have been true.Grin

QueenC, I normally wardrobe de clutter at this time of the year but tbh this year the priority is the dc's playrooms! What's happening to me?shock]

Bit of bag porn. There are 4 bags I have been thinking of getting for the last year and so likely to be my 2016 bag purchases. I have always wanted a Chloe Paddington and have toyed with getting a vintage one. I love the Celine Nano luggage but only haven't got it because I can't decide what colour. Also the Louis Vuitton Neverfull and finally the one I am least likely to get which is the Givenchy Antigona.

Can I say whisper "morning Dry! I can't wait to hear all about it"Grin

Longislandicetee · 30/12/2015 08:54

Meant to add your SATC style declutter comment made me smile. I think I have Carrie's closet from the film but stuffed like the one she had in the show.Blush

MarshaBrady · 30/12/2015 08:58

Blingy we'd need to choose your version of the tutu. Where we all say yes! That's you. A bag, or coat or bling maybe

I know, I'm quite relaxed about solo travel but if I was in NYC with the family I'd be hyper Grin

libertydoddle · 30/12/2015 09:16

Morning all. Greetings from a very stormy west of Ireland! Did a v long post last night and then lost it.

Lots of good buys this year especially shoes. Very happy with my Elia B leopard print loafers and R&B boots.

Mistakes tend to be stuff from Zara, Gap and H&M. Mostly as quality is rubbish and I feel v wasteful throwing things out that are barely worn. From now on only jackets from Zara, fine knit merino from Gap and Logg brand only from H&M.

Resolutions next year - get a bit smarter at work. I need to look a bit sharper. Also to buy a lot less than this year. I have a couple of things I want from sales then I am considering a one item per month rule!
