Welcome back Karcheer!

One, hope you get to see the doctor this morning.

Lib, your evening sounds lovely. It's what dh did but his sounded less lovelyGrin I spent mine sipping mulled wine, eating mil's Christmas cake and ironing while watching the new Cinderella film!

Having been on tenterhooks doing international package tracking all week, the dcs presents from Santa and dh's main present finally arrived yesterday. PHEW!!! Why I only ordered them last week is a mystery! Never ever again!

Today, we are delivering the cards and presents to our neighbours and then we are taking the dcs into town to get their presents for each other plus emergency last minute present for one of my bils whom I forgot about! Tonight will be the last of the present wrapping (I haven't done any of dh's yet).

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 24/12/2015 08:36

we plan to have a cheesebaord for dinner tonight while we unwrap our stockings from each other. i've got a present for MIL to pick up this morning and a couple of gift bags but otherwise, an easy day for me. once i get home after seeing family, i'll get in my onesie and just try and stay warm and comfy for the rest of the day

thanks blingy and lib

QueenC · 24/12/2015 09:01

one hope you get better soon my lovely.
dry and lib I was shocked when I married dh too. My family always opened presents first thing and all presents came from FC so no stocking. In dh family they used to wait to open presents till after the queens speech! I refused to wait that long and so we do it after lunch.
karcheer glad you enjoyed nyc
dry'can totally see you in red trainers.
It's hideous monsoon weather here. Glad I don't have to go out. Just hope dp drive down is ok.

If I haven't bought it, written it or wrapped it, it's now too late - I'm done.

We do the unwrapping in our pj's before breakfast - tried one year to start a family tradition of stockings before breakfast and other presents later but that was a spectacular fail Xmas Grin. The only stipulation is that I need to have a coffee in hand. bucks fizz for breakfast

Karcheer glad you had a good time in NYC - bet the xmas decs were amazing.

Linus yay, you survived a few days without wifi - well done Xmas Wink

I had forgotten about the next sale until Viva mentioned it yesterday so hurriedly booked a slot - which is where I'm headed now.

libertydoddle · 24/12/2015 11:03

I've been meaning to link this for a few days...

...head over to iTunes now and download the NHS xmas (hopefully) no1 (by midnight) to make it xmas (actually) no1 (m.youtube.com/watch?v=T8qHXlShfUQ). Even Justin Bieber (main rival) is supporting us now (www.theguardian.com/music/2015/dec/23/justin-bieber-tells-fans-to-buy-nhs-choir-song-and-make-it-christmas-no-1). Belieb.

Hello lovelies, wanted to drop by and wish you all a joyous christmas with your loved ones, hope you all end up with great presents too!
have missed u all ,xx

Oh! And I'm with Bernice on love actually, for me the moment I feel I want to smash the screen is the banoffee pie scene, and I hate banoffe pie so that make it more loathsome, utter drivel ,

VivaVegas · 24/12/2015 15:22

Safely at our destination, awful weather to drive in.
DCs now not interested in me and playing with cousins so enjoying a relax.
The upside of being away, doing nothing much for the next 3 days!

justasecond · 24/12/2015 17:09

Hi everyone, just a quick one from me too to say happy christmas to everyone. Hope you all have a fabulous time!
Have been so busy, no time to keep up with goings on but looking forward to a few days off and catching up xx

libertydoddle · 24/12/2015 18:29

Happy Christmas Lara and justa.

Just back from Christingle service. Had a little tear at all the children singing.

LinusLovesBretons · 24/12/2015 20:07

Merry Christmas MNVoguettes.

At my DP's we celebrate on Christmas Eve so I am properly stuffed with lovely food and drink.

Now it's present time!

Drywhitethanks · 24/12/2015 20:21

DRY xxxxxxx

(Still don't know what to wear tomorrow)

KittyHello · 24/12/2015 21:19

Finally got excited dc off to sleep. Just popping on to wish you all a merry Christmas. xx

Longislandicetee · 24/12/2015 21:39

DRY easy on the sauce love!Grin

Merry Christmas to Linus can't wait to hear what you got!

I have no idea what I am wearing tomorrow either. Annoyingly my period arrived earlier and I immediately bloated up. the irony of looking forward to a fun 10 days with dh and the kids with little work interruptions and being thwarted on day 1 by period pains wasn't lost on me! I am easing my pain and medicating with a liqueur which is like a chocolate version of Baileys.Wink

OneNightTimeMenaceStrikesBack · 24/12/2015 22:06

merry christmas to all, may santa be kind to everyone tomorrow (or tonight if that's the way you do things)

dp and i have exchanged christmas stockings and he got me lots of nice bits and bobs including lots of scrummy dark chocolate which i never buy as i'm the onyl person who likes it, lush shower gels and a fab Harry Potter nightshirt which i am wearing right now

hope all young dc are catching zzs so santa can visit!

Topazandpearl · 24/12/2015 22:53

Glad you are starting to feel better Blair and I hope you feel better soon one. I like the idea of a cheeseboard for Christmas Eve. We usually have fish (sea bass tonight) in an attempt to eat 'lightly' before the onslaught tomorrow. I like the idea of salmon en croute too dry.

Hope you get a good rest Blingy.

Watching Love Actually on Christmas Eve has become a family tradition. It is cheesy but enjoyable. I think I love that we all watch it together more than the actual film.

Our present opening routine has evolved over the years, and is more in line with dh's family's then the mad scramble, everyone piling in at once that was mine. Now that the DC are older, we don't open anything until after church. Then the DC open their stockings (not too grown up for that!). Then presents are opened one at a time, admired, exclaimed over etc. It can go on for ever, and several top-ups of Buck's Fizz are needed!

Dry your weekend looked lovely. We were there a few weeks ago as DS is working nearby at the moment. DD made gluwein this afternoon which was a lovely reminder.

This is our first Christmas in this house and it has been a lot of fun establishing new traditions. Our wardrobes are now in so I have been busy organising them! I hope you are enjoying your kitchen shop.

Hope you all and your dfamilies have a lovely Christmas, everyone. I look forward to hearing all about the presents.

maradesbois · 24/12/2015 22:58

Just popping in before I go to sleep to wish a very Merry Christmas to all you lovely Voguettes!

We had a lovely party this afternoon, caught up with lots of fab old friends. Never thought you could have too much champagne but all I wanted this evening was herbal tea and an early night before the mayhem of tomorrow Xmas Smile. Not cooking though and really looking forward to a relaxed morning opening presents. Shock at having to wait until after queen's speech QueenC!

Merry Christmas Voguettes. It is most definitely a Paw Patrol Christmas here. One very happy miniShop.
DH did well with bits for the new kitchen, books, DVDs and some well chosen underwear plus beauty treatments at my friend's salon. Now cooking has started while we wait for family to arrive. Have a wonderful day lovelies. Xmas Smile

libertydoddle · 25/12/2015 10:32

Finally woke up here when my DB rang at 8.30! DD very happy with Lego and the best presents - fairy wings and Mary Poppins CD Xmas Grin

I got a Jo Malone set of 5 different colognes from DH along with chocolates, slippers, new kindle cover and body lotion. All good. As usual I got his wrong Xmas Sad - his main present from me was a new dressing gown as he had been admiring mine but it turns out he bought himself a new one several weeks ago and I hadn't noticed so I am bad wife. Oh well. He is happy with the other bits.

Hope you all have lovely days. It's very chilled here. DD is painting her new 'design your own piggy bank', I am reading and DH watching TV.
