Morning everyone! It is very quiet here over the last 48 hours! I come bearing links from this weeks trip to J Crew...

https://www.pinterest.com/pin/380202393522083403//_ This jacket]] caught my eye as something I could wear with jeans for casual evening out. need a social life of course

My search for the perfect https://www.pinterest.com/pin/380202393522083402//_ trousers]] continues. I may actually give away all the others as this is getting ridiculous! My issue is that I have a small waist but relatively curvy bum so I can either dress the waist (and cut off blood supply to the thighs) or dress the bum (and have massive gaping hole at waist). I have gone for size 00 to dress the waist and think the thighs will survive. (As an aside, mini moan on vanity sizing seriously 00 Hmm?).

I also got https://www.pinterest.com/pin/380202393522076741//_ plain painter tee]] and this https://www.pinterest.com/pin/380202393522076737//_ metallic one]] but in grey.

Lastly, thank you so much to Amber for pointing me to these http://www.shoeaholics.com/morocco-black-glitter-36-lucy-choi-shoe.htmll_ Lucy Choi shoes]] on shoeaholic website. I am utterly in love with the black but am going to return the https://www.pinterest.com/pin/380202393521887952//_ silver ones]]. When I sent her a pic QueenC pointed out to me that a girl could possibly have too many sparkly shoes. Hmm. Damn Voguettes and their good memories and sensible advice! Grin

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2015 13:33

Blingy sounds great but can't open your links.

QueenC I think I'll wear the new Marant dress.

Looking out the window and noticed the big storm roll by!

shopafrolic · 13/11/2015 13:41

Need to catch up on links but I wanted to say welcome to Safetyzone who appeared on page 4 :) The HL in fuchsia sounds gorgeous and I love that blazer - very classic. Stick around. Was that your Pin account you linked to? Will follow if so.....
Weird weather here today - sunny for school run, then it chucked it down all morning and now sunny but blowing a gale. Hope those North of the Borders are coping?
Someone told me yesterday I looked like a model wearing my new GAP jacket so I'm really glad I kept it - I've been wearing it solidly.....
Dry feeling smug about the shoes - so glad they fit.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/11/2015 15:53

Wow shop that is a great compliment! (And I'm sure you did)

Some lovely buys lately! Dry gorgeous shoes which are so you, safety great jacket and shirt and hello again :)

Blingy your links have gone a bit haywire!

Think I'm going to just wait for sales now (she says, as usual) but it's going to be hard. I'm disappointed I never found my perfect camel coat - all the ones around now seem to be ridiculously long. If I could chop a foot off the bottom they'd be perfect.

Looking forward to getting back to real life next week, I don't really feel like myself in jeans and jumpers. I need a great coat and a tight dress and heels. In a strange way that means I'm eager to get back to the office! Grin

QueenCardi · 13/11/2015 15:55

Weird weather here too. Hail, rain, wind and sun. It's suddenly got really cold too. Time for the winter barbour to make an appearance I think.
Great compliment shop

shopafrolic · 13/11/2015 16:59

Awesome end to the week....
these biker boots arrived absolute bargain and look great - very close in style to the Jimmy Choo version which I will never be able to afford so one happy Shop
And the builder came round and said they can do one end of the kitchen at a time which will leave me with a sink, oven and small amount of workspace for longer than I thought making the process more manageable.
Off to see Bond tonight - have lovely evenings all. :)

LinusLovesBretons · 13/11/2015 17:10

Very Envy shop!

Spectre only came out here this week and we haven't been able to organise a babysitter to go and see it.

And those boots are lovely, we'll need to see how they look on. Wink

Great compliment btw! Where I live people rarely give compliments. Sad

Welcome and Welcome again to the newbies and not so newbies.

blingy impressive US shopping as always.

blair glad to hear you're starting to feel better. I have given up on finding a winter coat as the ones I've tried were just ok and the ones I really like I can't find in the shops.

kitty I forgot to say earlier but what a shame about the APC shirt. I wasn't sure beforehand if it would suit me but when I put it on it was DH (who's fussy) who convinced me I looked good.

It's been very weird weather here as well. Very misty and cold in the morning and by the afternoon the mist has burned off but the humidity stays and wreaks havoc with my hair.

I forgot who asked about frizz remedies (viva ?) but I would like to know as well. Preferably without silicones as they are too heavy for my fine hair.

And on a non S&B related note: when I told DH I had two lemons (devoid of lemon zest) for him to use up, the first thing DS said was: "Gin&Tonics for Everyone", whilst throwing his arms up in the air.

Blush
VivaVegas · 13/11/2015 17:21

Linus yes it was me asking about any frizz hair preventers, no replies as yet but my current product is nearly gone so open to suggestions.
Turned cold here too, meeting some friends for dinner and drinks straight from work, feeling a bit weary as sleep is still evading me but once I've got my lippy on and a glass of Prosecco I'll be fine!
Wine to the weekend all!

shopafrolic · 13/11/2015 18:08

Best anti frizz shampoo and conditioner I have found

Drywhitethanks · 13/11/2015 19:14

Oh how I love MNV, IRL my friends would roll their eyes if I mentioned christmas day outfits......here it's normal to plan in advance Smile

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/11/2015 19:18

I keep thinking about that lovely Stories jumper Lib found for Christmas Day... would be perfect!

LinusLovesBretons · 13/11/2015 19:27

Thanks shop! Another thing on my Boots shopping list for when DH goes to the UK.

dry I wouldn't roll my eyes but I am baffled at the whole British Christmas Jumper/Outfit for Christmas Day thing.

But what do I know? I'm just a foreigner. Grin

FedupNagging · 13/11/2015 19:43

Christmas day outfits are very important although unless we have guests or are visitors ourselves, dh and the ds's see no reason why they can't spend the day in their pj's Hmm. We are going away this year and they have be warned.......

Blingy I can't open your links but knowing you they will be lovely.

Linus Boots used to do a 'Naked' range which I found to be brilliant for frizz and curls. I use argan oil as a styling product but have run out and can't remember the name - my hairdresser gets it for me so when I replenish, I will let you know.

Welcome back to safety and welcome to Dream - lovely bag.

I have been buying dining room furniture and xmas presents this week (spurred on by Lib) so have no fashion news - and no money either!!

AmberNectarine · 13/11/2015 19:51

Linus - I'm British and I'm baffled by it too!

MarshaBrady · 13/11/2015 20:17

We always dressed up as a family and had dresses ready. It was really nice. Depends where we we this year though, am waiting for passports to be renewed hope it's quick.

Shop on a fashion roll!

FedupNagging · 13/11/2015 20:23

I have had some brilliant customer service from Mint Velvet this week. I ordered a blouse which was too big so ordered a replacement which then turned out to be oos. Several days later they offered to check all their stores for the item (unprompted by me) and today they found it and are posting it free of charge hope it fits

Wine to MV

KittyHello · 13/11/2015 20:28

Welcome safetyzone jump right in and join the chatter, love the JCrew jacket btw. I also love the denim shirt too am wearing one very similar at the moment from Primark

Blingy would love to see your JCrew links if/when you get a chance to re-post.

Linus I'm British and can't do Christmas jumpers either, I also can't do fancy dress either - bah humbug.

Great compliment Shop I was kitchenless a few years ago, it's worth the pain.

Marsha good to hear about your travels, glad the Acne skinnies are proving to be a hit.

Viva was such a long time that I was in NYC, can't remember where we stayed though.

Dry great shoes and at such a fab price too

Have sent the APC shirt back Sad and have bought this as I loved the colours but the shape and ruffles didn't suit me check shirt had to buy petite as even though it should be worn a bit baggy, the regular sized one didn't look right, I have short arms and I don't like baggy sleeves Hmm

Stokey was it you who bought the cords from Next? I tried them on today and they are great, they say bootcut but are a bit more flared, looked fab with trainers black flared cords so I bought them. they look good with Pistols too, wish I'd shortened my flares even more to wear them with boots.

Phew marathon post, am away this weekend with some friends, so have packed very simply going to give the NL shirt an outing.

Drywhitethanks · 13/11/2015 20:38

Linus it's just nice to dress up a bit to make the day feel special, I wouldnt feel right in jeans on Christmas Day. I'll be wearing a toga on NYE but that's anothher story Grin ..... I might wear my new shoes until the Harvey's Bristol Cream makes it dangerous Grin

LinusLovesBretons · 13/11/2015 20:44

dry we also dress nicely but don't really buy new outfits or special jumpers.

My DM would be horrified if we wore jeans for Christmas Eve (our main Christmas celebration) and I even doubt she owns more than one pair. Grin

QueenCardi · 13/11/2015 20:46

fedup I think boots have stopped doing naked annoyingly as it really suits dd hair. Talking of hair please tell Harry styles to cut his!
I'm a bit bemused by thinking of a Christmas day outfit 6 weeks in advance. I only mentioned it because of the other thread! I can't even remember what I used to wear probably pjamas but for the last few years we've seen friends for bubbles at lunchtime so it's nice to dress up.

LinusLovesBretons · 13/11/2015 20:48

Last time I wore a toga was when I was being 'hazed' at university and I was supposed to be dress like a Hetaera (Ancient Greek prostitute/courtisan)

Could have been worse I guess as a bed sheet draped over oneself gives lots of coverage.

FedupNagging · 13/11/2015 20:53

Kitty have a great time.

Dry I love the jacket and ankle length trousers look you linked the other day - I have last seasons version of Shop's herringbone jacket (with red lining) and have been wearing it with boden ankle zip jeans and Ash jordy's -til it got too cold this week!

Has anyone ever stretched a pair of shoes/boots using the freezer method? My pettys are currently in the freezer and my fingers are crossed - and no, I haven't taken leave of my senses/had too much wine Grin. They look great with so many outfits but I have wide feet and after a while the boots start to pinch so am taking drastic action. Hope it works.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 13/11/2015 21:04

Fedup I've never tried the freezer method but have had some luck with thick socks + hairdryer + wiggle toes technique.

I don't dress up for Xmas day usually (family) but last year went out for a pub lunch and it was nice to choose an outfit, so I think something new would be nice, probably not a full on dress!

Have a lovely weekend away Kitty :)

KittyHello · 13/11/2015 21:08

Fedup I could do with stretching my Pettys, that sounds weirds doesn't it! I too love these boots but can't wear them all day as they give me blisters. I think Blair had a method for stretching shoes IIRC. I'm interested to hear how your frozen Pettys turn out!

I too like dressing up on Christmas day but for some reason can't wear a Christmas jumper, i don't know why as I think they are good fun, perhaps once dc starts asking I will relent.

Have only this week started present buying and received my first Christmas card yesterday.

Drywhitethanks · 13/11/2015 21:08

Fedup, you've put your Pettys in the freezer? Shock Grin Confused......... have you been partaking in an alcoholic beverage or four?

Am trying to pack for my 24hrs away. Need warm outdoor clothing that looks chic.....that's tricky. Evening outfit sorted though.
