Afternoon,

Catching up on my lunch break. Ootd is slouchy Marni dress with small dot print, hard to describe. Wearing it with navy opaques and navy heels, the (very prescriptive) dress code where I am specifies monochromes but people wear all sorts so am not paying too much attention.

Envious that you're all sorted for Christmas QueenC. Bag link? The blouse is nice but neck tie might annoy you, they do me unless fully buttoned & fastened which might not go with a casual look. If I'm around would love to meet up with you when you're down btw.

Topaz lovely to 'see' you.

Marsha enjoy your night out.

Shop fx for you that kitchen will be finished by Christmas. Are you doing Christmas dinner?

Stokey thanks for TW code. I'll take a look when I have more time but looks lovely.

Karcheer in answer to your question the other day re Jo Loves afraid I can't remember the others but pomelo is nice. Have only bought for others. If you can make it to the shop do so though. The staff are lovely. One time I had ds with me and they were getting him to sniff everything and say what he could smell. They gave me plenty of samples too. Was quite an olfactory education!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 10/12/2015 14:47

I love that blouse QueenC, I think to work for you it might need to be tied in a bow rather than left loose or knotted. I would love to see you before you go to Vegas as I love a chance to waffle on about what a great place it is.

I had further blood tests this morning, and went back a bit later to see a doctor. Need to wait for test results on Monday to confirm, but they have signed me off for a further 2 weeks with a provisional diagnosis of glandular fever - i.e. it wasn't actually flu I had. Hindsight eh! So now I just need to rest A LOT.

mara I'm very much enjoying hearing about your OOTDs knowing where you are, you sound so glam. Hope you are finding it really interesting.

Marsha hope you feel in the mood later and have fun :)

I had a Jaeger sale preview yesterday so I bought this skirt (Dry you'll like this one). It was £150 so a bargain, not sure if it's lined but I'll buy an old lady slip, as I feel it's a forever skirt.

shopafrolic · 10/12/2015 16:11

Glandular fever is rotten Blair take it easy lovely.
Mara I have been promised kitchen (incl decorating) will be done for Christmas - which is good because we have 9 adults and 10 kids coming on the Sat before, 6 for drinks and canapés on Christmas Eve and 10 on Christmas Day Xmas Shock
Have started to put a few decorations up around the contents of my kitchen cupboards - and my White Company Winter candle arrived today so am feeling festive. It was really Dry's very special hat on FaceTime yesterday that really started me off - can't forget the image Xmas Grin

LinusLovesBretons · 10/12/2015 16:30

Oh blair glandular fever can really knock you for six but it's good that you've got a provisionary diagnosis and that they have signed you off work so you can rest.

I love that skirt btw, it does look like a forever skirt.

queenc I love that blouse as well but I can imagine the tie would drive me crazy and I would dip it in my plate of food a lot. Grin

QueenC · 10/12/2015 17:36

That's good that you've been signed off blair as you can now get the rest you need.
linus I hadn't considered the ties getting in food Grin. I'm going for lunch tomorrow so will try and be careful!

The bag is being returned. It's this one. Although it's not silver I just love the studs especially as you can wear it back to front to hide the logo. But having played with it at home it's just got too much depth. It would be great as a day bag but I want an evening one.

QueenC · 10/12/2015 17:38

this one was nice as the logo actually isn't too noticeable but again the bag is too big for what I want.

Karcheer · 10/12/2015 17:51

queenc'i have a bigger one of those and it's very hard material so will keep its shape so you're right about the depth ie it won't squash.
Vegas is great!

Thanks mara I think I'll try the pomelo ;)

LinusLovesBretons · 10/12/2015 17:57

How about this one queenc?

FedupNagging · 10/12/2015 18:31

Thank goodness you now have a diagnosis Blair so that's one less worry thing to worry about. Now I guess it's just plenty of rest for you - lying on the sofa watching films and eating chocolate is my prescription!

Queen definitely like the dk bag so shame it's a little large. The one Linus linked is a bit more slimline.

Waves to Topaz.

Marsha hope you enjoy your evening.

Mara yet another lovely sounding outfit.

Popped into Charlotte Tilbury before the ballet last night but it was so busy I couldn't concentrate so came out empty handed such a lightweight

Am out again tonight and as ds offered to be my taxi bribed with a tank of gas am definitely wearing heels but not sure what else yet - probably my uniform of hl skinnies and silk blouse. I think I need to overhaul my going out wardrobe but trouble is round here everyone is fairly casual even in the more expensive eateries.

Karcheer · 10/12/2015 18:34

They are out of Pomelo,:(

justasecond · 10/12/2015 19:12

How about this one queenc not exactly silver but a nice shape for eve
coccinelle bag
Flowers for Blair hope you are able to get some rest to recover. Nice skirt too.
Great outfit Mara you have some lovely clothes
So worn out today glad its Friday tomorrow. The dc are tired too their wingeing is really getting me down.
this arrived this week and I am wearing it already. I ordered iT from Brand alley a few weeks ago and had forgotten. Its really long but lovely and soft and a proper dark navy.

AmberNectarine · 10/12/2015 19:26

Don't talk to me about white co winter candles shop. I did a large order of candles/diffusers/room sprays and %#$+ing Hermes left it on my doorstep. Of course it wasn't there when I got home, so now I have the tedious business of arranging a replacement. Argh.

Also one of my favourite dresses got shrunk, DS bumped his head so I busted my arse to leave work early to get him, only for him to burst into hysterical tears because he didn't want to leave after school club and then DD picked the cat up while he was using his litter tray, spraying my kitchen with urine in the process. Not a good day!

Karcheer · 10/12/2015 20:46

Oh amber that's rubbish :( on the upside tomorrow will be better and you've had your 3 bad things (bad things come in 3s) so it's all good!

I'm going to Bicester tmr early, I'm getting a large Molton brown candle for my aunt and uncle,,and a mk purse for my cousin (who wanted the Victoria secret stuff) anything on top of that will be a bonus, when I get home the rest will be done online.

amber one of the good things about the builders is they take in my deliveries.

Karcheer · 10/12/2015 20:47

fedup I need to overhaul all my wardrobe! it'll be a New Years resolution!

QueenC · 11/12/2015 07:58

amber I know you had a bad day but your fb post did make me chuckle especially picking up the cat.
linus I saw the hobbs one online but I'm not sure about it. I prefer the option of crossbody. I'd like to see it irl though.
justa some love coccinelle bags but none quite right. I'm a bit of a fuss pot with bags. They have to sing to me and make me happy ok, so I'm a weirdo.

VivaVegas · 11/12/2015 09:38

Sorry for dipping in and out, life is just far too busy at the moment.
'Queen* when are you off to Vegas? My favourite place, hence my name!
Got the tree up last night and will do the rest and wrapping tomorrow so I can see if I have forgotten anything.
Out again tonight, less dressy than last Friday night so going for coated black skinnies, Me&Em slouchy top and Whistles heeled boots. All black but going for bright pink lippy and lots of silver/Swarovski bling!
Just need to get through another day at work and then relax!

QueenC · 11/12/2015 12:15

April vegas.

In the end I decided to buy this gap bag. I've always liked it but didn't want non leather but I decided that for £15 I might as well get it until I see a real one that I like. DD will then happily have it off me.

Big party tonight. Some of you know that we usually do a summer bbq for dh colleagues and juniors but we didn't this year so we're doing Christmas instead. I never particularly enjoy though always get a new outfit out of it so silver lining and all that (I got the navy lace whistles dress for it). So there's anout 30 people coming. At least in the summer they're all outside but this time they'll be on my new living room carpet. I may ban red wine!

libertydoddle · 11/12/2015 12:52

Good luck tonight queenc. My last night of holidays....

QueenC · 11/12/2015 16:05

Gosh lib that's gone fast.
Wore my new blouse today. The tie didn't end up in my lunch!

LinusLovesBretons · 11/12/2015 16:46

I am not an ear cuff kinda person too boring but I really love this

Maybe a present idea for MrAmber if he's feeling flush? Wink

Karcheer · 11/12/2015 17:28

I bought myself something today woohoo!
3 cream cashmere jumpers from N.Peal, a roll neck, a cable knit and a v neck.
I actually think I've an issue with shopping I really struggle to buy for myself. I was happily spending loads on Xmas pressies for everyone, but to,buy things I actually need, I really struggle justifying it, unless it's a going out thing and then I seem ok. It's very weird.
I think I need to,force myself to buy something every week...

maradesbois · 11/12/2015 17:47

Evening,

On my way home after an exhausting week.

Drinks with dh tonight then friends for lunch tomorrow but apart from that I'll be spending all weekend finishing this bloody essay for Monday deadline (so no more boring on about it Grin). Ootd was navy dress which has knitted top and satin skirt with black tod's brogues that I've finally broken in.

Blair it must be a relief to finally have an a diagnosis. Use Christmas to rest and put your feet up, hope dh is looking after you. Take care x

QueenC party sounds fab but yy to clear drinks only. Enjoy!

Karcheer wow, that's a lot of jumpers! N Peal is v good quality.

AmberNectarine · 11/12/2015 18:13

That's lovely linus - apparently he's already 'annihilated' the budget so I won't hold out much hope Wink

Karcheer · 11/12/2015 18:36

mara I really have hit a critical point with a lack of clothes. I do need some sweaters for NYC and winter in general, I was Umming and Arring over which one to get, but gave myself a bit of a talking to, as I actually NEED them. Yes they look lovely quality, I nearly got a really cute short sleeve one from Prada but it was alpaca and I was worried it would itch :/

Karcheer · 11/12/2015 18:38

mara what are you studying?
I'm thinking of doing an evening course starting in jan but I've been thinking about it for awhile
