I know it might seem like we've nothing left to say but I'm sure we have :)

I have to tell you: Seville a l'Aube is on the TK Maxx website for half price - lots of other L'Artisan perfumes but that one is very special and I wore nothing else all summer!

SOTD: Cuir de Russie. Like a fuzzy hug with vague undertones of marauding Cossacks from the 19th century.

Thanks SecondSunrise, I'll try those.

CointreauVersial · 26/11/2015 18:23

No, sorry, MrsC - I meant the Bex London.

Tate15 · 26/11/2015 21:14

Missbattleaxe, I but my Al Rehab oils from eBay. I am working my way through them all!

Jasmin is wonderful but very, very strong!

Sabaya, Full, Nafine, Soft are all lovely.

I would read the reviews on Fragrantica and select six you think you will like them pick an eBay seller who sells a mixed assortment of the six you like.

The roller balls are fab, I've not had one that leaked. Not had one that has stained clothing, but do take care just in case.

Use sparingly.

Complete non-sequitur to all things S&B, but I have just made my first Xmas cake. Have never been so nervous, as it's being made for three families and involves 1.8kg of dried fruit, eight eggs, and a ton of other stuff. It's been in a very low oven for five hours, and... it looks perfect. I can't take it out of the pan till morning, and it needs to be kept above dog height, but I am so pleased with it.

And back on message, adding a fizz of JHAG Not a Perfume to this morning's dose of Dzing... has enlivened it very pleasantly!

MissBattleaxe · 26/11/2015 21:35

There is a Serge Lutens that smells like fruit cake- Arabie I think. You should wear that when doing your cake marathon! or perhaps you already smell like? Either way it's all good.

cressetmama · 26/11/2015 21:40

I may smell like cake (good) or like fish (less wonderful) as that was dinner!

CointreauVersial · 26/11/2015 22:43

Hermes Ambre Narguile always makes me think of mince pies (with vanilla ice cream on top).

MrsCocoa · 26/11/2015 22:48

Sorry to lower the tone, but just back from Aldi. They had 7 different women's fragrances tonight including what smelt to me like ringers for Narciso Rodriguez, Daisy and La Vie est Belle. Anyone tried?

MissBattleaxe · 26/11/2015 23:16

Ooh no I haven't seen the Aldi fragrances. The Lidl ones are good. The men's fragrance, xbolt, is a dead ringer for Hugo boss bottled.

YouLostMeThere · 27/11/2015 12:49

Dear perfume stars, I have just got a sample of Tauer's L'air du desert marocain and am now completely obsessed.... Keep sniffing my arm.... Cue v odd looks from other people.... Anyway, am trying to buy a full bottle, but can't find anywhere in UK to buy it. Has anyone bought from USA or elsewhere? Is it easy? What about VAT/customs? This smell is the one thing brightening up my rather rubbish day!

YouLostMeThere · 27/11/2015 12:49

Meant to say perfumistas, but perfume stars works just as well!

MissBattleaxe · 27/11/2015 13:00

Welcome YouLostMe and congratulations for picking a classic. You can get full bottles of Tauer in the UK from Les Senteurs and sometimes even on Amazon UK.

I love the Tauer brand and am most irked that you can't get samples of the latest Flash series.

MissBattleaxe · 27/11/2015 13:01

Just had a quick glance on Amazon- its very pricey. Try Les Senteurs. If you're in London, try and go in person so you get free samples and a posh bag.

YouLostMeThere · 27/11/2015 13:03

Yay!!! Thank you! So glad I can buy in UK. Also chuffed I picked a "classic" (sits grinning and preens).

YouLostMeThere · 27/11/2015 13:06

Not in London, but fairly easy on train. I may have to take a special treat trip in order to get nice bag and samples. ☺️ If the other perfumes are as good as L'Air, then I might come home completely broke.

getoffthattabletnow · 27/11/2015 13:07

Miss Battleaxe someone on Fragantica was doing splits of all of them a few days ago on the split section. You do need to register first though in order to see the splits/perfume exchange sections.
Wearing Nutmeg and Ginger plus Gingembre today.Feels a bit chilly here today and this combination is fresh and simultaneously warming.

BellaTheGymnast · 27/11/2015 13:11

Am working my way through samples from both JHAG and 4160 Tuesdays at the mo. I stink to high heaven and have completely lost all sense of what I actually want to smell like.

I used to wear Philosykos and want to have a reaction to a new perfume in the way I did when I first smelled that. I loved it.

Current likes from the samples are Ealing Green from 4160 and Lady Vengeance from JHAG.

What other 4160s may I like? I hated Lion Cupboard, London 1969 was a bit meh and The Sexiest Scent on the Planet Ever was for me a dead ringer for Lush's Karma.

I don't like the ones that smell like tea.

cressetmama · 27/11/2015 13:14

YY to Les Senteurs. I blame hold them responsible for my perfume addiction! Phoned the shop one day to ask if they had any suggestions and ideas and the lovely chap gave me a consultation there and then, and then sent me half a dozen samples, kick-starting several years of delights and a drawerful of samples and decants. When I go to London for a day out on my own, it's going to be the first port of call.

SoTD is Jicky EDT. Sadly it's not lasting very well on me so I am trying to decide between another spray, or something else. It doesn't seem to go with the wet afternoon.

YouLostMeThere · 27/11/2015 13:38

I'm also loving Tom Ford Bois Marocain, but disappointed that it only lasts a very little while and isn't that strong on me. Would totally love this if it was stronger. Love the incens-y vibe.

CointreauVersial · 27/11/2015 13:38

Youlostme - top choice! That's my absolute favourite "special occasion" fragrance, and I too spend the whole time sniffing myself. I love the way it clings to clothes/seatbelts/watchstraps, so you still get little whiffs days later.

I would love to be able to afford a FB, but am surviving on (increasingly bigger) decants from Surrender to Chance.

YouLostMeThere · 27/11/2015 13:43

Cointreau I have cashed in my Christmas present chips for a full bottle... And cheekily asked for it early.... naughty....!

FrustratedFrugal · 27/11/2015 16:24

Inspired by YouLostMeThere, I spritzed on some LADDM. I've had a monster 12-day workweek and feel totally wiped out. This is such a soothing, comforting perfume. An incense powerhouse, almost like a physical presence, perfect for a wet, pitch-dark evening.

Christmaspanties · 27/11/2015 18:16

My Cabotine by Parfume Gres turned up, I'm a little undecided so far. Give me a couple of days to test it, I do like the freshness but are missing my ginger hit. Totally worth the £10.11 I paid for it!

ToysDontWorkNoMore · 27/11/2015 19:44

Have been ill (fluctuating fatigue, headache, dizziness and nausea, which particularly bad just now, so have been in bed all day - no idea what it is yet, but have had bloods taken and will find out hopefully Mon),so not wearing anything, although was sorely tempted when the Tuesdays came today! Thanks so much cresset!! As soon as I feel better, I will sort out a parcel for you. I will also sort out Cointreau's Dzing.

CointreauVersial · 28/11/2015 00:15

No rush, Toys - get better soon!
