I know it might seem like we've nothing left to say but I'm sure we have :)

I have to tell you: Seville a l'Aube is on the TK Maxx website for half price - lots of other L'Artisan perfumes but that one is very special and I wore nothing else all summer!

SOTD: Cuir de Russie. Like a fuzzy hug with vague undertones of marauding Cossacks from the 19th century.

All this ginger talk had me trying out R&G's Gingembre Rouge earlier. On me, the ginger note was a bit lost under all the fruit.

FrustratedFrugal · 28/11/2015 06:47

Touyd BrewChocolate - hope you'll feel better soon!

FrustratedFrugal · 28/11/2015 06:49

Duh, meant Toys

cressetmama · 28/11/2015 10:29

Concentrate on getting over it before rushing around Toys. We have scent to wear! Enjoy sampling and hope some of them tick your boxes.

boldlygoingsomewhere · 28/11/2015 12:46

Thanks to the people who mentioned 1460 Tuesday's- I've now got one of their sample
boxes and can't wait to try them.

Today I'm wearing vintage mitsuoko- love it! It smells so different on me compared to the modern formulation. Don't know how I'm going to source more- I'm going to have to try and eke it out as long as possible...

MrsCocoa · 28/11/2015 20:27

Enjoying V&R Spice bomb today (anyone else enjoy men's fragrance?). Perfectly cheering for Christmas shopping in heavy rain.

CointreauVersial · 29/11/2015 00:18

Just back from a party, still reek deliciously of L'Air du Desert Maroccain (or however you spell it). Lovely.

YouLostMeThere · 29/11/2015 07:47

Ooh, cointreau I get my bottle of that tomorrow. Can't wait. I am going to smell deeeeeelicious! Hope you had a good party.

PreAdvent13610 · 29/11/2015 11:54

Would it be wrong to buy all seven of Aldi's perfumes, just to see how they wear? At £3.99 each it would still be cheaper than a Tkmaxx bargin.

cressetmama · 29/11/2015 12:59

Do they not have testers? We don't have an Aldi. You might possibly hate them all.

ToysDontWorkNoMore · 29/11/2015 13:06

Cresset and Cointreau: your packages are ready to go. Cresset I hope the earlier package I sent has come through?

Feeling a tad better this morning. While sorting out my cupboard, decided to spray on some of my 5.40 pm in Madagascar. It's turned Sad well, it's fine after the first half a minute, but before that -nail polish remover SadAngrySad

CointreauVersial · 29/11/2015 14:51

Trying another Discovery Box sample - Paco Rabanne Lady Million Eau My Gold. From the name and the design of the bottle my expectations were pretty low, and indeed I'm not enjoying it. Brash, synthetic fruity floral. I shall be quite glad when it wears off.

Wondering if I'd have had a different impression if it were marketed differently? I was expecting to hate it.....

cressetmama · 29/11/2015 15:28

Toys glad you are feeling better. Nothing has arrived yet but will post as soon as it does.

SoTD is Dzing, with a layer of Not a Perfume (JHAG) which intensifies and gives some length to the Dzing (otherwise delicious but fleeting).

Horrid day here, grey overcast and very windy.

ToysDontWorkNoMore · 29/11/2015 17:55

Oh, I hope it does show up soon, cresset. Let me know if you don't get two parcels and I'll send another one.

Headache is back tonight Sad

cressetmama · 30/11/2015 12:11

Hi Toys and thank you; your packet arrived this morning! Am now debating what to try first. Infusion d'Iris has won, and the first sniff is delicious!

getoffthattabletnow · 30/11/2015 12:26

Sotd is MFK's Amyris Femme.I think this is my favourite Iris. Its so beautifully blended with the Amyris.
Can I just give you all a warning about using Fragrance X.Dhl are trying to charge me £20 customs charges on a bottle of perfume costing £45 from FragranceX.With delivery charges included this brings the price up to £70.
So the morale is don't order from FragranceX.
I'm so cross as I can buy the same bottle on Amazon for £50.

FrustratedFrugal · 30/11/2015 15:43

Getoff I really like Amyris Femme. I always feel ultra groomed and polished when I wear his perfumes.

Sorry about the awful shipping markup Sad

Today I'm all out with LADDM. I had an awful morning (too little sleep, a howling child, lots of deadlines, miserable weather) so I forgot to put on any perfume, but everything feels great atm. Sweatpants + sheepskin boots + a glass of wine + LADDM = not bad for a November evening.

YouLostMeThere · 30/11/2015 20:27

Frugal I am also covered in LADDM, and am totally blissed out, even though life is a bit crap at the moment. Love how it's so mellow and calm and comforting. I wish I could live where this smells like to me. Mmmmmmm

ToysDontWorkNoMore · 30/11/2015 20:51

Cresset, glad to hear that.Don't even remember what I put your parcel! Hope you enjoy it. The next one includes quite a range, so is a bit random with a few samples thrown in that have only a drop left in them, as well.

Still feeling very fragile today, so thought I would play it safe and wear something light that wasn't going to make me quesy: my Sicilian Zagara cologne. A bit at odds with the season, but not with my body.

MissBattleaxe · 30/11/2015 20:55

Toys, sorry to hear you're under the weather. Hope you're on the mend.

It's interesting that you've picked something light. When I am feeling peaky I wear Eau de Cartier- all that bergamot and lavender seems just so light and pure. Does anyone else have a scent that they wear when they need a bit of gentle healing and TLC?

MissBattleaxe · 30/11/2015 20:57

LADDM is a classic. Has anyone tried Sotto La Luna Tuberose? I'm dying to try it. Much as I love Andy Tauer, I couldn't take to Sotto la Luna Gardenia.

ToysDontWorkNoMore · 30/11/2015 21:01

For being poorly without nausea, I would choose something like my beloved Clinique Simply. Something old and trusted, nothing earth shattering. I think right now LADDM would make me heave, although I ordinarily love it. Hope I can shake this stupid illness soon. Angry

MissBattleaxe · 30/11/2015 21:08

Nausea is a big deciding factor I agree!

Eau de Cartier is my hangover scent. It's all I can bear when the white wine backlash kicks in. I also like Elizabeth Arden Spiced Green Tea. It's quite hard to get now.

TheMightyMing · 30/11/2015 22:10

Just found this thread! Does anyone window where I can get the original Prada ( rectangle bottle pink box) at a reasonable price. I used to get a bottle from Costco at Xmas when they have the perfume stall, but I don't think they have it this year.

MissBattleaxe · 30/11/2015 22:32

I don't know about the actual Prada edp but I do believe Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights smells very similar and is under eight quid on allbeauty.com
