I know it might seem like we've nothing left to say but I'm sure we have :)

I have to tell you: Seville a l'Aube is on the TK Maxx website for half price - lots of other L'Artisan perfumes but that one is very special and I wore nothing else all summer!

SOTD: Cuir de Russie. Like a fuzzy hug with vague undertones of marauding Cossacks from the 19th century.

Frugal- I love Bottega Veneta and Deseo!

My best cheap and cheerfuls are Coty L'Aimant, Yardley April Violets, Jessica Simpson Fancy Nights (smells like Prada original EDP but under £8), LouLou, and a great Avon one called Scent Essence Citrus Burst, which is Bergamot and like a good eau de cologne.

There are more, so I'll come back to this one.

Isn't L'Aimant a ringer for Channel No.5? Trying to decide if I like violet notes or not so will look out for the Yardley.

Mfk Amyris Femme today.I love this - its such a pretty floral that I often forget about.Its under a pile of decants and samples on my dressing table that need sorting .I'm also tempted to order new samples of the Baccarat Rouge and the two newer Ouds on the MFK website as the reviews are brilliant.

Anyone know anything about Friedemodin Perfumes?Its a British niche brand that's now on sale at Tk Maxx.I'm really trying to resist buying the perfume set.Given that I have Tk Maxx Christmas vouchers burning a hole in my pocket.

I've got a mini of Filles de Berlin and there is a slight metallic element to it. I still like it though.
LovelyFriend that kit sounds great and the ingredients list sounds right up your alley! Lots of fun playing with that lot.

Yesterday's scent was Eau de Small Child's Vomit. Today is a tropical flowers Keiko Mecheri Isles de Lointaines. Great sillage and longevity, really good. I've almost forgiven her the Ume disappointment.

SOTD Tauer Carillon Pour Un Ange. Gorgeous and very long lasting.

SOTD: Robert Piguet Bandit, and thinking about Marlene Dietrich whose signature scent this was. I'm at home so don't have to worry about giving anybody else a headache, although someone said yesterday 'what scent are you wearing, that's so gorgeous' (which rarely happens as DH hates perfume so I wear very tiny amounts), so perhaps it's not as toxic to others as I thought.

I have a sample of vintage L'Aimant that I bought from 4160 Tuesdays, and it really is lovely, very easy to wear. I also bought a small amount of 1930s L'Heure Bleue from them (it was gone from the site in about 2 days), which knocks the current stuff into a cocked hat. The current version I find thin and one-dimensional and has a certain nose-irritating effect. The vintage is rich and deep and poetic.

OMG to Serge Lutens being at TK max!!

Love Carillon pour un Ange.There's nothing like it .But its so potent.Two sprays on my wrists one morning and I could taste it in my boiled eggs.

Carillon Pour Une Ange is such a marmite perfume. On me it smelt like having a vase of brompton stocks, smelly water and all, poured over my head.

Serge Lutens are cheaper on Allbeauty and they have a wider selection than TKMaxx. I am tempted by Feminite du Bois.

Today I am wearing Cuir de Russie, sometimes this is very leathery on me and sometimes it's just soapy. I don't know why but today I am getting the leatheryness and it's lovely.

I wore a totally generic perfume today at work - a squeaky clean rose, Especially Escada. If you ever need a laundry detergent vibe, this is it. Scary situations, interviews, when you need to suppress your personality.

niminypinimy- That's funny about Carillon. On me its BIG lily of the valley.I tried Clinique Aromatics in Black in the other week and it smelled like wet wellies on me. I can't figure the wet welly smell out at all!

FdB is really great!

Wearing Pear + Olive to bed, didn't sleep well last night, early to bed.

I'm in on the FdB.... if anyone sees a decent size bottle, I would be in for a split. Sadly, not for any of the ones on TK Maxx at the moment. We could rock n roll this, if anyone were interested.

Have not ever smelled Carillon. The gut says it's not me, but may sniff on the sniff-a-thon, if I see it.

SoTD, applied late afternoon, was Midnight Oudh fron JHaG sample set. It's lovely (I like most of those I've tried) and it is surprisingly subtle for something that starts big. Rose, oudh and patchouli; three hours in, it stays pretty close to the skin, but delicious wafts. Probably not a morning scent.

I love FdB too. I have a 5ml miniature from eBay which I'm closely guarding. It's available at AllBeauty for £59.

Friedemodin sounds interesting! But I know nothing about the brand. Very tempted by that TKMaxx set.

SOTD - Annick Goutal L'Isle Au Thé. DD2 actually commented on how nice it was (this is unusual). Didn't last, though.

Well, I took the plunge and ordered small bottles of Sacrableu and Odalisque from Parfums de Nicolai. The prices are pretty reasonable. Never ordered unsniffed before but was feeling rash, and I've read so many reviews that I thought I knew what they smelled like before buying. They came really quickly and they also sent me a free sampler of Musc intense too. All 3 smell gorgeous! The packaging is amazing too, they come in a velvet-lined box which opens with a magnetic lid

Odalisque is just as I imagined, fresh, slightly minerally and mossy and similar in style to Sisley Eau Du Soir to me but softer and much more refined.

Sacrableu is warm and soft and gentle smelling, I think I need to wear this as haven't quite worked it out yet.

Musc intense, OMG! I am loving this so far, When I first sprayed it I got lots of really sweet gourmandy notes, which looking at the notes is probably pear, but it dries down into a sweet, musky rose, not like any other perfume I've tried, I can see me needing a full bottle of this too.

Funny, I have been wearing my Feminite de Bois this week, it's the lovely Eau Timide version.
