Addle, my copybook is I fear Irreversibly StainedSad

Cremo · 12/10/2015 09:41

Chilly! Laksa! Welcome, you will like it here. We are greatly kind unto one another.

I'm 49 and 3/4 and have a daughter of 20 at Uni and a nerdy husband with Aspergers. No grandchildren that I am aware of but nothing would surprise me with dd tbh. It's a beautiful life. Love clothes and makeup and any kind of snake oil in fact.love tkmaxx and a good rummage. Got my hush catalogue and admired all that soft cuddly stuff and then Dh recycled the damn thing, so that's that I suppose .

Please just jump on. We know each other q well , but are not a coven and are always happy to see new people.

Rosebag · 12/10/2015 10:07

Cross post last night. Hello to Chilly as well as Laska. I should say that as well as being 54, and not as yet, interested in being a grandmother or a MIL for that matter!, one generation down I have three of the blighters, two DS's 28 and 17, and a DD 15. I love all matters connected with hair, clothes and makeup and believe that a new frock is indeed cause for celebration....

OK, I am bouncing back and have some professional activity today which always helps. Having said that, DS2 and DH decided to do major updates on the Mac yesterday...and I am seething.... seething,y'hear. I can't find anything, the printer isn't working and a whole tranch of my emails seems to have gone for a picnic somewhere is cyberspace and show no signs of returning any time soon. Oh and my footer...the one that helps me pretend I've "Got A Role" has also gone AWOL...Angry

Ah well, you gorra laugh....I expect that DH has lost a good deal of stuff too.....what's sauce for the goose...

I might buy this dress Opinions Crepeys, please. Will I look like bosoms in a short chiffon tent Grin

motherinferior · 12/10/2015 10:28

Rose, that dress would not IMO do you any favours. It is an Embarrassed Fat Lady frock. You are gorgeous and also quite tall Envyand can rock something more close-fitting.

hattymattie · 12/10/2015 10:30

Waah - I can never get these lines as I just get the home page in France. I'm sure you'll look lovely in the dress Rose.

bigTillyMint · 12/10/2015 10:58

I quite like the dress, but it is very flowingGrin

MontserratCaballe · 12/10/2015 12:09

Remember, Rose, that you are HOT. You also lost considerable weight over the summer and are looking ace. I prefer the hot red dress which shocked the Rabbi. That one is a bit too floaty for a sassy bird like you Wink

Hello Chilly and Laska, welcome, please do stick around. I have 2 DDs age 10 and 8, plus my boy aged 6. I am 46. Look forward to chatting more later.

motherinferior · 12/10/2015 12:22

Yes, the Hello Rabbi dress was vvv fab.

Lalsy · 12/10/2015 12:57

Grin at Hello Rabbi dress -that did look fab. I agree about the blue one being a bit floaty - I'd be setting fire to it or dipping sleeves in washing up bowls.

Rose, that is so annoying. I don't let anyone else touch my laptop - if make changes that don't work at least I know what I have done. Keeping separate laptops on the road does eat into my small earnings but the alternative would make my blood pressure soar. Your emails may need downloading into the manager again from webmail?

Auriga · 12/10/2015 14:51

Aurigadog has definitely reclaimed the Worst-Behaved rosette, after managing to snaffle a bit of cheesecake yesterday while DD was distracted by the cat.

Laska & Chilly, I'm 59 & DD is almost 17. Would dearly love to have some grandchildren, may have to borrow some while I'm waiting.

Lalsy · 12/10/2015 15:02

Crepeys, I think there were some recipes in the last thread that people wanted added to the crepey cookbook? I can only find MrsS' helpful tips on groundnut stew, which I will add. If anyone wants to PM me any more recipes, I will do version 4.

Anyone can have a link to the cookbook - just PM me for the link. It is in pdf format and you don't need anything to access it, just open the link in a browser. (It happens to be a dropbox link because that is what I use, but can be read by anyone who can read pdfs).

Has anyone heard from Stropps?

bigTillyMint · 12/10/2015 15:28

I have, Lalsy. She is OK, but busy with RL. Hopefully she will post again before long.

I would love some chubby little cuties to cuddle too, but I don't think my DC are in any rush. Well they are only 14 and 16Grin

Lalsy · 12/10/2015 15:59

Thanks, BTM [waves at Stropps].

herbaceous · 12/10/2015 16:05

YAAAAAWWWN.

Crikey. This teaching lark is exhausting. Spent two periods with my non-literate boy this morning, who is a total sweetie. It was great, but intense. Then another period in a low-level English class, then another one observing a phonics lesson. Then I had to come home as I was so tired!

Meeting someone else about a possible EAL TA job tomorrow, someone else about volunteering in a primary school on Wednesday, and have a job interview for an adult learning college on Friday! All go!

Usually have choir tonight, but an old NCT pal is in town so instead I'm going out for a meal with her! What a rebel I am, to be sure.

Rose - that dress would get caught on door handles something chronic.

bigTillyMint · 12/10/2015 16:56

Phew Herbs, that is all go! But great to have so many possibilities.

Blackduck · 12/10/2015 17:08

Rose no to that dress - just no - you can do better....

NUFC69 · 12/10/2015 17:09

Joins Herbs yawning. Busy day, we seem to have had one DGD for most of the day, joined by her DB after school, and I have been to a funeral of a DFriend who used to play the organ/piano at my first choir. At the end of service a man who was sitting next to me told me I had a beautiful voice and asked if I sang in a choir. I explained I was rusty as my previous choir had folded a couple of years ago. Angry It reminded me how much I used to enjoy singing and I am now contemplating joining something again. I was very taken aback with the compliment, tbh!

I think I am the oldest Crepey: 67 (but I feel about 17 most of the time), with a DS and DD both in their 30s, and four DGC, aged 1-4. No animals any more since the death of my dear cat earlier this year.

Herbs, you are doing amazingly well with all your jobs and volunteering - you must be feeling very proud. Has DS resolved his greeting of his friend problem?

bigTillyMint · 12/10/2015 17:18

NU, I hope I feel 17 again when I am 67! My old boss was in today and she is 62 or 3 and looks fabulous.

herbaceous · 12/10/2015 17:30

polishes nails on lapels Why thank you NU! I am rather pleased with myself. Now worrying how I'm going to fit everything in, should it all come to fruition!

DS apparently stepped out the line before school, tapped his BFF on the shoulder, and did a big smile, wave and 'hello'. I told him I'm very proud of him, and gave him a bag of Mini Cheddars.

magimedi · 12/10/2015 17:51

Crikey - you lot can chat! Been away just under 2 weeks & it's taken me ages to catch up!

Hope all the sickies are now feeling better & all the teens are in line!

Hallo to Chilly & Laska - lovely to see you here - I am now no longer the newest crepey!

I am 60 & have a married DS who lives 'foreign' with my lovely DIL and the most wonderful, beautiful, clever & totally amazing PFGD!!

Just back from visiting them - grandchildren are fabulous - all the cuddles & love & none of the night time waking!!

Had a lovely time, too much wine & too much cheese but it was a holiday.

motherinferior · 12/10/2015 18:14

Oooh is she utterly adorable?

I have realised I do quite enjoy the bits of teaching where you're actually, y'know, teaching.

bigTillyMint · 12/10/2015 18:16

MM, if it were only that easy to get teens in line!

Glad you are feeling more positive today, MI.

Collymollypuff · 12/10/2015 19:54

There you go, MI - a pro already. Smile

Auriga, shall we meet at the venue at 7? Or at the Starbucks next door from, say, 6.30? I'll probably spend some time and money in JL beforehand.

Rosebag · 12/10/2015 20:07

celui ci?

Collymollypuff · 12/10/2015 20:14

That's a fantastic find, Rose. Love it.
