How about Fri? Somewhere round the Sarf Circuliar?

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/10/2015 21:42

Ugh, They are all back on the Friday. Couldn't it be earlier in the week? You can come to the hovel and I will feed you curry if you like. Or an Eastern European Extravaganza that pins you to the chair and still has you groaning in the morning.

motherinferior · 21/10/2015 21:51

Ooh that does sound tempting...I was going to suggest Tuesday.

MrsSchadenfreude · 21/10/2015 22:35

Oh. Guess who is banging at the door? AngryAngryAngryAngry

Stropperella · 21/10/2015 22:49

Sorry have still not caught up with thread. I'm not ignoring everybody, honest. Will catch up soon.

Lalsy · 21/10/2015 23:09

Hey Stropps, much good luck tomorrow.

I am around next week but think not very free (unusually for me) - will see what day you end up on.

Auriga · 21/10/2015 23:19

Yes All the best for your interview Stropps and feel beter, Lalsy

Lalsy · 21/10/2015 23:28

We are all just slightly grubby as is the house. I seem to have avoided the crepey lurgies despite spending hours hunched over my keyboard this week.....

Glad you got to do some lovely singing, Auriga.

Collymollypuff · 21/10/2015 23:58

Just wanted to add: Good luck with your meeting tomorrow, Crem. I feel your dread. It'll be good to get it done, I hope.

Cremo · 21/10/2015 23:59

Auriga, that does sound rather splendid, and quite an occasion.Smile

Molly forgot to say, sorry you are being driven up the walls by Dh. I spent a lot of last night wailing and gnashing teeth trying to get Dh committed to leaving the house for something other than work or going to see his dps. I honestly think he forgets about everything including me at times, so complete is his own bubble.i swear he is quite often surprised to meet me in the house. "Oh hello, erm you"

In other news dd is 'allowing me' to book ferry home in December for annual enactment of Christmas-style breaking of bread. I am honoured Grin

Mrs S surely basis for a memoir or historical novel.

Cremo · 22/10/2015 00:00

Oh and thanksThanksThanksThanksThanksThanks for all good wishes, you lot.

NUFC69 · 22/10/2015 06:26

Good luck today, Crem, and also you too, Stropps. Lalsy, any better today? BTM, if you have the time (inclination and cash) do try the Plaza by the Central Park for afternoon tea. It's a very pleasurable experience and shows how the other half live. Wish I was coming with you....

One day I will get to a MU. DH has suggested we have an overnight trip to London, but I would feel a bit off about ditching him.

Crem, good about DD gracing you with her presence - how is she getting on generally?

Rosebag · 22/10/2015 07:10

Lalsy That sounds a bit full on...Flowers Take care.

Good luck Crem I hope this gets rid of some of the uncertainty, even though the options don't gladden the heart, not knowing what to do is even worse, isn't it?

Good luck for the interview Stropps !

Exactly MrsS I have ordered this chain belt

Molly you of the vibrant coloured dressed and beautiful statement necklaces...step away from that top. You can do better.....

Envy re half term MU

hattymattie · 22/10/2015 07:23

Stropps - very good luck today and Crem - hope you get something useful in your Acas meeting. Crem good news on DD and Crimbo.Smile

addle · 22/10/2015 07:47

Good luck Crem and Stropps today. No lurgies at this end (why elf my phone want to say luthiers even tho it's undoubtedly true), but a constant lurking feeling that I am not doing this job terribly well, which is making me feel wobbly. Training session to be delivered by me and colleague this morning, followed by Tricky Conversation this afternoon. Appreciate am lucky to have this just wish it didn't make me feel quite so crap. My family history has one glamorous louche side with chorus girls and multiple changes of identity and one very respectable line of missionaries and teachers.

Blackduck · 22/10/2015 08:16

Stropps good luck!
Cremo hope it goes okay - I suspect that's the best we can hope for...

Stropperella · 22/10/2015 08:55

Hmm, there is nothing to do in Weymouth at 8.30am. Still, we got here so early, the test centre let dd start her test 20 mins early. Now to catch up with the thread..

Very good luck today, Crem. Your stamina has been amazing.

BD, glad to hear you have been getting some proper R&R.

Addle, best of luck for today also. Ah, that horrible wobbly feeling, I'm all too familiar with it. Hope it all goes swimmingly today and your confidence gets a boost.

Am not very confident that dd will pass her theory test, but she was adamant about wanting to take it now Hmm

Thanks for all good wishes for today. Didn't sleep and am feeling a bit sick.

Stropperella · 22/10/2015 08:56

Hope the tiling/electrics are sorted quickly, Lalsy, and that you feel better even more quickly.

Stropperella · 22/10/2015 09:00

Poundland is open before 9am, but almost nothing else is. If a sugar tax is introduced, they will have to change the name to Twopoundland.

herbaceous · 22/10/2015 09:15

Ah, Poundland. The only known outlet for Toffifee.

Good luck stropps! I feel nervous on your behalf! Is this a tebbly naice public school? After my experiences in the secondary school I'm tempted to go down that route myself!

I'm taking DS to the Science Museum today. He's got inset days today and tomorrow, so hoping it will be less hellish than it would be in half term.

Realising I'm going to actually have to make exercise part of my day. The occasional wander to school is no longer cutting it. I cycled for about 10 minutes the other day, and had to have a rest as there was a mild incline. I also need to shed five pounds to get me back into most of my trousers.

Lalsy · 22/10/2015 09:16

Stropps Grin. Best of luck today. And Addle. And Crem.

Thanks everyone - I feel fine, just discombobulated by partial loss of mod cons this week and odd family comings and goings. We are off to stay near dd at the weekend and she is coming to join us. I hadn't realised when I booked how excited I would be by an en suite.......

motherinferior · 22/10/2015 09:30

I am realising half term is imminent. I have to teach on the Weds but fortunately that is the day when DD2 is apparently spending the day with a friend (otherwise she will stuff pointlessly indoors glued to her phone if I’m not about). Even more fortunately friend lives on convenient local bus route.

bigTillyMint · 22/10/2015 09:33

It'll be fiverland before we know it - as a student, we used to frequent the 15and20p shop!

Good Luck to you and DD Stropps - even Weymouth Poundland sound idyllic to me ATM!

Good Luck Cremo.

And good luck to you Addle - I'm sure you are nowhere near as rubbish as you imagine.

Lalsy, good planning!

Stropperella · 22/10/2015 10:15

Dd failed her driving theory test by 1 mark. And is now in a fury and refusing to go to school. And as for a "thank you" to me for taking her there/postponing interview etc.. Yes, well, I think you can imagine. Overgrown toddler, anyone? I'm off to walk the dog and try and get rid of the headache that seems to have taken up permanent residence in my bonce. And will then get togged up for interview. Will have to wear the same kit as I wore for last week's "informal meeting" at the same place and have to hope they don't think the worse of me for that.

motherinferior · 22/10/2015 10:29

Angry for you, Stropps.
