"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
— Karl Lagerfeld

Its that time of year again when our thoughts turn to winter woollies, Christmas jumpers and party dresses. Come and join our musings and purchasing, high end and high street, we love them all.

These tassel ones were cute too (but too boho for me)

Ooh nice Shop love your whole outfit. Will you order from some where else?

Stokey · 12/10/2015 13:27

Lush boots Shop, they look great on you - will you go for black or the pink?

Loved the MbMJ leather bracelet you linked Blingy, very cool.

I had a great morning shopping, dropped the kids off then popped to Oxford Circus, was back home by 12. I don't take advantage of living in London enough.

I bought a grey oversize cardie in & Other Stories to fill my coatigan hole. It's super cosy but got it home and DH said it looks like it's a size too big, he's right, they had no XS left in store or on line. I may keep it anyway.

I also got a green checked shirt in H&M. Is it the same as yours Ujj? The quality is fab. And a denim pinafore dress from Topshop, I think it's like this but blue.

Hope everyone else has successful days!

shopafrolic · 12/10/2015 13:30

I'm going to have too. Feel bad not supporting local business but 1. They don't have my size and 2. They are £££ cheaper elsewhere.

FedupNagging · 12/10/2015 13:32

Some lovely ootd's today.

Mine is h&m stretch pencil skirt, longline pink vest with a navy French connection knit over the top. Also wearing a Brakespeare scarf in creams and pinks (can't find to link) and ash platform pumps. I did want to wear my new coatigan but it's warm and sunny here.

Shop fab boots - both pairs. Can you order online?

I haven't ordered the Ash boots as decided I prefer the Sam Edelman ones so was on my way to the shops to see what I could find to try on when I got a call to look after dgc so turned round and came home again! He's now fast asleep so I'm on mn doing some jobs.

Enjoy Amsterdam Blair

Those boots look perfect for you shop!

And I love that plaid shirt stokey, I'll start wearing mine a bit more now the weather is getting colder.

shopafrolic · 12/10/2015 13:55

Ujjayi and Marsha will you get them? MNV boot for Autumn? Having a last minute panic about whether suede is a good idea.....

shopafrolic · 12/10/2015 14:23

Have ordered them from Amazon - last pair in my size.... Fingers crossed, bought some more Collonil too.
The smaller size pair of Atterley road wide legged trousers arrived but they are too small so both pairs will have to go back. Shame, so am now on the hunt for some wide legged heavy weight crepe or similar trousers to wear with trainers (need to be long enough for me). Shout if you see anything please.

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 12/10/2015 14:52

Hello

Thanks FedUp for the new thread, can't believe it is on page 7 already!

Linus and Lara I love that APC blouse too, have pinned in anticipation of the sales. The MNV blouse?

Love those SE boots for you Shop - they look great in the pics as does your cardigan. Looks like they may be the MNV boot of the season.

My atterley road order arrived, I quite like both trousers but think the darts at the waist mean both will have to go back:

culottes - lovely twill cotton material, but the darts make them a bit bulky at the waist.

trousers - far too long on me but nice thick denim. Again a bit bulky at the waist.

I think I would like to get some culottes though, just need to find a flat fronted pair, not in mmf and not too £££...not asking much then!

Atterley Road have another 10% off on sale items btw.

Shop shame about your wide leg trousers, will keep an eye out for another pair.

Blingy I also love your new Marc Jacobs cuff - lovely colour. Am tempted...

Hope you are enjoying Amsterdam Blair!

My OOTD is an old Hobbs dress in a blue animal print (Amber I think you had this dress on your blog ages ago), my Hudson boot bargains from the Dressing Room and my woolovers maxi cardigan. Very autumnal here but bright blue sky and quite warm.

maradesbois · 12/10/2015 15:20

Afternoon,

Enjoy Amsterdam Blair, perfect weather for an autumn citybreak (if same as here).

Shop love the boots shot, glad you managed to find in your size. Hope you're feeling a bit better today.

On my way to to an event, need to be smart/uptown but nothing looked right this morning. Loved Lara's piece to Marsha about work dressing and staying true to yourself. Thought I should be wearing lbd with Chanel jacket but felt so middle aged and changed into brown Marni silk dress with cream stars, has black collar so works with opaques. Lots of walking involved so wearing black patent ferragamo flats instead of trying to do it all in heels. Burberry trench and birkin lift it all from being too casual. Feel comfortable and confident so thanks Lara! Smile

Think the Chanel jacket only works with jeans for me.

Ujjayi · 12/10/2015 16:12

Shop those boots look great on you. I am pretty much sold on them myself too but I am concerned about the width as they look pretty narrow. Their being suede is fine with me because they aren't going to be an everyday boot...what with my ever-growing boot "collection" Grin. And totally pants about the trousers. Do you want pleat front as per the Atterley version or would you consider flat front too?

Stokey link to cardigan not working for me - just takes me to the knitwear page rather than specific item. I tried on the H&M shirt you bought but then I spotted this version which is slightly longer but works better for me, being long in the body. I agree the quality is great - so soft & very warm too. I wore mine yesterday and felt really cosy.

Mara love the sound of your outfit today. Marni dress sounds gorgeous.

Bernice shame about the culottes. I love them on other people but sadly blessed with short legs so they will never look right on me.

shopafrolic · 12/10/2015 16:28

Ujjayi I could happily do flat front too. Not too sure on width, I do have slim feet but they seemed fairly average to me - probably wouldn't work if you have very wide feet though....

shopafrolic · 12/10/2015 21:07

Did I kill the thread?

MarshaBrady · 12/10/2015 21:17

Never! I'm still deliberating on the boots.

shopafrolic · 12/10/2015 21:30

Mine will arrive tomorrow. Will take more pics if you want. Really hope I've got the sizing right. Found them even cheaper on another site but half size too small I think. Amazon returns are free though so will start there.

MarshaBrady · 12/10/2015 21:34

They look fabulous on you but might be a tad dramatic for me, but then they do look great hence the deliberation.

Mara and Bernice love the sound of your outfits.

MarshaBrady · 12/10/2015 21:37

Stokey great shopping

Bernice you should def get culottes - would really suit your style

Ujj I do think you'd look fab in those boots too

Drywhitethanks · 12/10/2015 21:52

Totally love the boots Shop you MUST keep them.

Frost on my car this morning but was abeautidpful sunny, chilly day.

Ootd was camel Aline skirt
Brown knee boots
Brown opaques
Burgundy merino
Statement necklace in taupes

Why do I look so terrible in ankle boot/skirt/dress combo? Can manage it with high heeled boots for going out, but for work, with lower heel, I look dumpy Hmm......my R and B tan boots (like liberty's) are lovely, but when I try on with skirts just look wrong Confused.... Perhaps it's just not a daytime look that works for me.

But......I have discovered that trainer socks don't show in my loafers! No more chilly feet Smile

libertydoddle · 12/10/2015 22:04

I agree the SE boots are fabulous on you Shop.

Dry I used to think ankle boots with skirts looked terrible on me and then suddenly one day I decided it looked ok. Could this be like you and skinny jeans? I remember the days when you thought they were all wrong and now you trot around in leather ones Grin. Skirt length is also important. For me they work with either skirts that are a couple of inches above the knee or else midi length. Looks all wrong with knee length.

Drywhitethanks · 12/10/2015 22:19

You are right liberty! I remember saying I'd never be seen dead in skinnies! I will keep trying as it's such an easy look in the winter.

Longislandicetee · 13/10/2015 00:43

Bugger lost my post. Make up off eyes out. Night all x

KittyHello · 13/10/2015 06:33

Morning, love it when dc wakes me up at 4.45 - not!

Dry I can't do flat boot and skirt/dress combo but I can do heeled boots with that combo.

Shop great boots,

QueenC you've got me thinking about those grey Boden/SE boots but I can't buy more boots, I'm trying to be more project 33 than project 333. Maybe I'll wait until the sales - I'm weak, I'd love some grey suede boots in my life.

I too loved that APC blouse and yours Mara is fairly similar in colour.

Stokey really like your green checked shirt too. May pop in to H&M and check it out.

Haven't thought about OOTD yet, just a SR day for me. Wore my Ash Jalouse yesterday, they are quite tricky to wear with jeans but I do still like them.

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2015 06:34

Been on the razz blingy?

Had v good day at work yesterday :)

Drywhitethanks · 13/10/2015 07:49

Ootd
BR Sloane fit ankle grazers in camel
Black sloucy sweater Zara
Black loafers sneaky trainer socks not showing
Burberry cashmere scarf shop I love it so much

Hair is not behaving.

Feeling cosy Smile

Have a good day all.

Blingy hope you are feeling ok today.

AmberNectarine · 13/10/2015 08:18

Sounds like a great outfit dry
