"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
— Karl Lagerfeld

Its that time of year again when our thoughts turn to winter woollies, Christmas jumpers and party dresses. Come and join our musings and purchasing, high end and high street, we love them all.

these are the boots I ordered. I've only had a very quick try on but I know that they're too pointy for me. Lovely boots though. I'll try them with outfits anyway before returning just to see whether black boots work.

LinusLovesBretons · 27/10/2015 19:03

lib I saw this top in H&M today and thought of you.

It's a copper colour shot through with a gold thread, would that work with your skirt?

LinusLovesBretons · 27/10/2015 19:04

I am starting to feel that way about my Ash Jalouses queenc and am looking to replace them with a boot with the same heel but a rounder toe.

QueenCardi · 27/10/2015 19:45

Let me know if you find any linus. I really like the v cut at the front as that seems to work for me.

LinusLovesBretons · 27/10/2015 20:11

these look less pointy but the black isn't very black but maybe that's the picture.

MarshaBrady · 27/10/2015 20:23

I quite like this Iris & Ink cashmere but still expensive with discount.

Which do you prefer grey or antique rose for me?

So busy need to reengage with on here!

Longislandicetee · 27/10/2015 20:36

Oh I like that sweater Marsha. Personal preference is for the pink.

FedupNagging · 27/10/2015 20:36

Those ghillies are a gorgeous colour Queen. The boots are nice but I think I prefer the Jess that Linus linked - that style would look good with a skirt/dress too.

Marsha I would say go for the antique rose with your colouring - am liking all the colours though!

Those with visitors, have fun.

Lib glad dd is having a better day.

Antique rose Marsha
One bottle of prosecco down......

shopafrolic · 27/10/2015 20:38

Have had an email saying my Matches order is out for delivery tomorrow? I haven't ordered anything?!

LinusLovesBretons · 27/10/2015 20:46

The rose is nice marsha but I think you can do better for that price.

Maybe your DH ordered something to make up for foisting his parents on you? Wink

Or Matches is saying sorry for their bad CS?

QueenCardi · 27/10/2015 21:03

I like those linus'but too high for me for every day wrar.
marsha not entirely convinced about the pink I'm afraid.

libertydoddle · 27/10/2015 21:06

Maybe they are sending the sweater back to you shop?

I vote for the rose sweater too Marsha.

Linus bronze with a gold thread sounds great. What kind of top is it?

VivaVegas · 27/10/2015 21:09

Wine to those in need for whatever reason. Enjoying a glass here but for no other reason than I'm off work this week and I can!
Boden sparkly shoes arrived and are really sweet, rang them as I hadn't realised I had a £10 voucher in my inbox when I ordered and they deducted it straight away, so with that and the 20% discount code they were just under half price too.
Bought a black sequin skirt in M & S at the weekend so need to try it and see if it's a keeper, along with the Whistles boots. Have quite a few nights out next month and then in the run up to Christmas so need to make sure they all work so they get worn.

MarshaBrady · 27/10/2015 21:20

Good one Viva

Thanks everyone. I do usually have a top price for I&I at £60, will ponder for a bit.

Shop curious

LinusLovesBretons · 27/10/2015 21:47

lib it's like a jumper made out of woven metallic thread.

Bad description as it feels quite soft and the fabric flows nicely.

VivaVegas · 28/10/2015 08:10

Morning,
Not very S & B but it's really making me feel awful and causing me to lose my mojo so I guess it's related. For the last week have been waking every couple of hours absolutely boiling hot. I'm assuming it's my age (only early 40s seems far too young!) and wondered if anyone else had experienced this and what you did to help it? I'll have a look at the page on here too. I'm not going into my proper deep sleep and feeling awful. Can muddle along as I'm not working this week but will struggle to cope with work next week if this carries on. Not good Sad.

VivaVegas · 28/10/2015 08:16

In a more upbeat post, Gap have 40% off s lot if things until 31st, includes some trousers, jeans, jackets, jumpers, bags and shoes.

MarshaBrady · 28/10/2015 10:20

I have a half day off today, so nice to be doing very little bad limit a wash on and hang around with the DC.

Makes me realise how flat out it's been. Have a full day off on Monday with Dh. Really looking forward to it.

Viva I'd also consider whether it's been warmer at night. It has here.

MarshaBrady · 28/10/2015 10:25

Shop did something arrive and how was last night?

VivaVegas · 28/10/2015 11:28

I did wonder that Marsha as it all seems a bit sudden, I've also had a rotten cold and am still a bit bunged up. I'm rubbish without my sleep, going to take some Night Nurse tonight to see if that knocks me out!

MarshaBrady · 28/10/2015 11:32

I got too warm, and my dc had a bad dream - always a sign!

shopafrolic · 28/10/2015 16:29

Gaaaahhhh - bloody Matches are a joke. They have sent me a replacement sweater. Had promised me a full refund??? Checked bank account, no refund. Back on the phone on hold to them now!

Stokey · 28/10/2015 16:53

Hello all, just catching up while waiting for SIL and her family to arrive, they're staying for a week . We only have a 3 bedroom house so there'll be 8 of us squashed in.

I agree with Marsha Viva, a combination of warmer weather and cold brings on hit flushes. I was on the Night Nurse on Sunday & Monday, rubbish to be so bunged up whilst away but the place we stayed was great. A bit like Centre Parcs without the chain restaurants, lots of cycling and swimming, I'd definitely recommend it.

Matches are clueless Shop very frustrating. Can you shame on Twitter or web site?

No fashion news though I have 5 bras on their way inspired by Lib's bra replacement. I've also been buying winter boots for the Dds, so expensive and they get trashed so quickly.

herecomesthsun · 28/10/2015 16:53

So are pointed toes passe now (trying to keep up)?
