Its that time of year again when our thoughts turn to winter woollies, Christmas jumpers and party dresses. Come and join our musings and purchasing, high end and high street, we love them all.

Oh my goodness shop that is laughably bad CS! Maybe time to go to the top? It's worked for me before, you can find details online of company CEOs emails/addresses.

It has been really warm lately, even at night - sitting at work with short sleeves and the window open. Viva it probably doesn't help that you've been ill, but maybe wait til it gets cooler and then see the GP if it still happens? Hope you sleep well tonight.

I think pointy toes are still 'in' but as they don't look good on me I've never bought a pair.

I think Jalouses are almond toes but they're still a bit too pointy for me so I rarely wear them anymore.

viva is it possible you're going to have your periods? I can sometimes have night sweats when mine are on.

Spoke to Matches. Put on hold for ages. Lots of apologies. Could I send the sweater back and they will then refund. I went mad. Told them they can sort out collection. And that for all the time and calls they should be offering more by way of apology. They offered 10% off my next order. I told them I have no intention of ordering again. I am waiting on a call back from a manager to discuss further. The whole process has been disgusting.

Wow that is even worse CS than before!

Goodness Shop! Have to say, I have ignored their emails since I saw how bad their customer service was! It's like mytheresa. Ever since they wanted Id so I could buy the Chloe bag, I haven't tried to shop with them. Their loss!

I picked up a Christmas jumper today - please tell me I am the first on mnv this year! Have searched for ages but can't find a pic. Its Antoni & Alison and is dark grey with the most gorgeous gold sequin reindeer on the front with the cutest red nose. From TK Maxx where else?! only popped in to get a pair of opaques

I dug out a couple of pairs of Indi & Cold skinnies earlier - both are looking a bit tired so will need to replace. May replace with Boden as their petite is a good fit on me so no alterations needed and they are considerably cheaper than I&C too.

viva I usually wake up hot when ive got my period. Every so often I do wake up with hot sweats and I'm also early 40s.
here no idea whether pointy are in or out but like linus I prefer round toed or almond.

Returned the black boots after a try on as they didn't look great. Have decided that I don't need black boots anymore as I prefer my taupe ones with trousers and they even look ok with dress and tights. I've ordered a couple of dresses to try from John Lewis. I'm having a workwear panic. Loads of my clothes can easily cross over to work wear but it's the winter shoe issue . If it was autumn or spring then ballet flats would be fine.

fedup christmas jumper sounds perfect. might be off for a rummage round tkmaxx myself tomorrow depending on how much work i get done in the morning, we shall see. I am definitely going out though in the afternoon to get at least one big snuggly blanket for dp's bed, i'm freezing every night while he is always hot so i think an extra blanket just for me will solve this issue!

I found out tonight that my cousin is with (ie has DC with pretty much married) to a very well known fashion writer that I really like. Gobsmacked!

I've had a lovely night out at the amazing St Pancras Renaissance Hotel, didn't realise how beautiful it was. Up at 4.20am weeps for Prague. Glad now I curtailed the night

Marsha hope trip to Prague goes well tiday. I think I know who the writer might be. How exciting. The St Pancreas hotel is gorgeous.

QueenC I thought brogues too. Lots of non clumpy one around. IMO they are probably the best flat winter work shoe option. Other option is to keep some courts or ballet flats at work and change into them for meetings etc

Now I want an Xmas jumper too. And one for DD maybe matching

Thanks all, I took some Night Nurse last night and only woke up twice so feel better than I did. Will see what happens over the next few nights. DH said he has woken up hot too so could be the weather. I hope so, not ready for all that yet!

Queen I think a few of us struggle with that, I wear more dresses and skirts in the winter as find it easier to wear them with opaques and shoes.

I should probably try some like that blair. Hopefully the dresses ive ordered will work with boots and I'll figure out the trouser issue later or just wait till it's warm enough for bare feet. Because I'll be walking to the office I'll probably live in trainets most of the time anyway possibly another new purchase needed

No fashion news, but we have decided who we will get to fit our wardrobes! Thanks for your earlier advice dry. Have planned the layout, now to decide on doors and handles.
