"One is never over-dressed or underdressed with a Little Black Dress."
— Karl Lagerfeld

Its that time of year again when our thoughts turn to winter woollies, Christmas jumpers and party dresses. Come and join our musings and purchasing, high end and high street, we love them all.

Shop Flowers Good luck for tomorrow.

One - I really feel the cold too. Makes this inbetween weather hard to dress for as I'm not ready to pile on the knits just yet or else I'm fed up with them by mid-Winter.

Amber is the Zara teal pleather skirt the pencil skirt or mini? Love the sound of your OOTD but have you got bare legs? I love navy & teal but wouldn't be sure what colour tights to go for.

Ujjayi · 14/10/2015 22:39

OOTD: Black tassel dress - Zara, black opaques & black suede fringed boots - Topshop

AmberNectarine · 15/10/2015 06:48

Pencil skirt Ujj - nude tights. Too cold to bare legs!

Drywhitethanks · 15/10/2015 06:49

Ooooh Amber I love a good tax debate Grin

Tassel-tastic Ujj!

AmberNectarine · 15/10/2015 07:16

If you knew what I did for a living that would sound even sadder. REBATE, obvs.

MarshaBrady · 15/10/2015 08:25

Morning! Meeting with a Paris agency today - should be good. Then lots of walking visiting stores for work. Determined to add a Marant store to that list Grin

MarshaBrady · 15/10/2015 08:28

Love the outfits I'm in dark indigo skinnies and navy Marant blazer and Jil Sander jumper and Marant boots.

The skinnies and boots are a nod to Lara's be yourself post

Haha! Dry - Sounds like I was rocking Pocahontas chic yesterday! The only tassles on the dress are the neck ties Wink

Marsha enjoy Paris. Outfit sounds great.

Started unpacking my winter clothes box. All looking positive so far.

OOTD: Navy Lemaire v neck - Uniqlo, black pleather skinnies - H&M, white leather Converse. I'll add navy Paul Smith peacoat when I go out.

Bunking off work & having lunch & a movie with a girlfriend today. The joy of being self employed.

QueenCardi · 15/10/2015 11:19

You all sound incredibly stylish and I'm sitting here at my computer wearing a fleece Grin. Seriously though, I've felt in a bit of a rut since dd started school. I don't do anything other than exercise and chores around the house and so it's difficult to get motivated to wear nice clothes. Especially now it's cold so it doesn't matter what's on under the coat. I'm out tonight though so looking forward to dressing up a bit.

Reebear · 15/10/2015 11:46

Hello all, I'm a longtime lurker finally taking the plunge to join in all the chat. I'm a big fan of the full range of high street and an admirer of higher end fashion. However, I've just moved to Southern Italy and I'm desperately missing the choice available in the UK. So I'm hoping to live vicariously through you all Smile and share all the online purchases I'll be making now I can't shop in real life!!

QueenCardi · 15/10/2015 12:59

Hello reebear. Ooh, southern Italy sounds divine. Is it hot all year round? bet you're not sitting in a fleece and thermal socks like me.

shopafrolic · 15/10/2015 13:22

Half price Tod's on the Outnet

Larastheme · 15/10/2015 13:33

Oh shop! I placed my first outnet order in like forever yesterday morning, , was excited about the chloe stuff, I expected much more choice, it was very limited, ,
these flats, I wanted to get a similar one last year but DH said they looked like granny slippers, and put me right off, but I still love them specially in this tan colour,
And these blue tapered trousers, which I'm planing to wear with an oversized grey chloe cashmere sweater, fingers crossed both items are good,as I have zero success rate with the outnet.

shopafrolic · 15/10/2015 13:34

Welcome Reebear Southern Italy sounds fabulous - yes yes to sharing links - we love a linker :)
Still waiting for my pink boots to arrive - am slightly worried I may be having a midlife crisis Grin Have now found the black version in leather and suede. Wondering whether if I have pink suede I'd be better to get black leather - might be a bit more hardwearing...... Desperately need some black going out boots so need to make a decision......Would like to wear them for Autumn lunches with my Uniqlo mini skirt, opaques and a chunky knit.
DS was ill all last night so I was up from midnight till 5am and feel shattered today. My outfit is fairly dull and there is no make up to be seen so not worth sharing. Waiting for the doc to call with my results but am starting to feel better.
My friend runs a beauty salon and I was a crash test dummy for her new 'celebrity brow' treatment the other day, they basically wax, then there, then pluck, then dye and then use semi permanent make up. Was quite impressed with the results. Not sure I'd bother to pay for it though - I can do quite a reasonable job by myself.
Marsha love the sound of you in Paris - fab outfit, so you.
Phew - brain dump!

shopafrolic · 15/10/2015 13:35

Fingers crossed Lara - the colour of those trousers is divine.

shopafrolic · 15/10/2015 13:36

Ujjayi enjoy your day :)

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 15/10/2015 13:53

Hi all :) back to work with a bump today, after a lovely few days away. It was so cold in Amsterdam I had to buy a hat to keep my ears warm - went for this &OS one as I have the matching scarf already.

shop I think the black boots do look better in suede (and going out boots generally) but it's a good point about having the pink suede - which are fab by the way. Also I saw this article and thought of you - is that the sort of thing you're interested in?

Hope you're having a good time in Paris Marsha and fingers crossed for the shopping.

Hi Reebear, welcome!

Oh my DVF dress is here I think, I just need to remember to take the parcel home. I'm a bit apprehensive about trying it on though as I'm definitely having a fat day week month Blush. The office is full of treats as well!

MarshaBrady · 15/10/2015 14:19

Absolutely amazingly we have finished work for the day we we're in the most perfect book-lined cafe. Too nice to leave to shop right now. But has been the best trip so far hopefully not jinxing. Shops open for a bit so still time.

Thanks for nice comments, sorry just dropping in all the time must catch up properly.

Ujjayi · 15/10/2015 15:38

Shop thank you! It was a lovely day. Switched my Converse for my Zara ghillie shoes. The Converse are still too white and shiny to look casual enough with the pleather skinnies. It felt a bit too "I saw this on Pinterest so bought the look"... which is actually true Grin . We watched "Miss You Already". Blimey, it's a weepy but a really great movie.

QueenC I felt like you when youngest DS started full time school. Even now I have days where I just want to slob out in my work out gear if I'm at home all day. However, I find that if I make the effort to dress up - even just for me - I feel so much better and my mood is brighter. I am more likely to go out and get some fresh air during the day too instead of feeling like it would be a monumental effort to get ready.

Reebear welcome! Seriously envious of southern Italy living. Sounds wonderful but it is funny the things we would miss.

Marsha enjoy the remainder of the Paris trip. I can visualise your café situation so clearly. Have a glass of something wonderful whilst you are there.

I just need to have a proud mama moment. My eldest (who has struggled with maths throughout school) has today achieved his first ever C in a maths test!! To put this into perspective, he only grasped number order in Year 7. It makes me so proud and happy for him. He struggles yet really wants to achieve. Feeling a bit emotional tbh.
