Found them. And ordered acne patches Grin

lucysmam · 12/09/2015 18:18

I have seen the a-sol mentioned on reddit as a ph toner - hang on, will go search

lucysmam · 12/09/2015 18:39

Hmmmm, I can't find the post I was sure I'd read that said it could be used.

Anyway, the gist was, it could be used but the other ingredients i.e. the 60% propolis may stop the actives working to their full potential.

A cheap option is distilled witch hazel with a ph around 3.5-4 ish. But be careful of the alcohol content, it could be irritating (it has to be used to distill). I pay around £1.50 in Savers for a fairly big bottle.

derektheladyhamster · 12/09/2015 19:30

fiftyshadesofsnail.com/2015/05/23/review-cosrx-natural-bha-skin-returning-a-sol/ found the review I think I initially read, I guess whether I apply before or after actives might depend on how much time I have!!

whatever happens - I think I bought it in a vain attempt to stop these spots.

I'm also a bit confused about the differences between AHA and BHA acids.

lucysmam · 12/09/2015 19:35

Ah! Maybe it was that blog post I read rather than on reddit!

As I understand it - the bha is oil soluble & works inside the pores to clean out gunk. The aha works on the skins surface by speeding up the cell turnover. Unless I understood all wrong...

lucysmam · 12/09/2015 22:43

I've tried the third Superdrug mask I bought on 3for2...IMO, don't bother with any of them.

This was meant to be "calming" but the smell was sort of cheap public toilet soap ish again Hmm, fit not very good, didn't adhere to my face well & made the sides of my nose feel a bit burny. It lasted all of 5mins before I smothered my face in snail gel!

I shall keep my eyes peeled for other easily available masks to try but think the Koreans/Tiawanese/Japanese do sheet masks much much better on the whole! No funny smells to be smelled & they're actually enjoyable to use.

AngelaRipp0n · 13/09/2015 00:52

Quickly popping in to say sorry to Derek, I started my new job this week and completely forgot to send the Missha sample. I'll do it Asap and pop back tomorrow for a chat.

derektheladyhamster · 13/09/2015 10:22

No worries Angela, all my products have started arriving, with plenty of samples to keep me busy! Hope your job is going well.

mowglik · 13/09/2015 19:02

renarde thanks again for the cleansing oil it has arrived and really looking forward to using it tonight. Have had a whiff and I like the smell Smile

Ive pared down my routine a fair bit lately, developed a few spots post holiday and not sure how to treat them. I have the cosrx acne patches but I wasn't that impressed with them when I used one on a monster spot I had on my chin. I usually use a clay mask overnight on spots but this one is open (sorry tmi) from me picking at it so not sure what to use to heal it - any ideas?

I need to develop a spot treating routine I think - would love you hear what you guys do

muddlingalongquitenicely · 13/09/2015 20:10

Hi everyone been reading the thread but have been really busy irl. Decorated DS2 bedroom then decided the bathroom needed painting.
DH has been sending pictures of purchases from korea, he got honey bomb and it was on a bogof! Parcel hasnt arrived from tk yet hopefully this week. DH arrives home saturday and i cant wait Grin

lucysmam · 13/09/2015 20:45

Oh I am very jealous of your double honey bomb muddling!

mowglik, I pick them...then feel bad! Clay masks but just for ten mins or so & propolis seem to help with mine, and then a hydrocolloid bandage on top. I've been using the Nexcare ones, not tried COSRX yet. These ones flatten even the huge recurring beast I get on my chin. Which hasn't shown up this month at all Hmm.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 14/09/2015 19:57

I have a parcel at the post office!!!!

it's either my TK order or my DS2 new duvets Grin
DS2 is picking it up for me after college

RenardeRenarde · 14/09/2015 21:38

mowglik glad you got the oil in one piece, sorry it took a few days to post, couldn't get out of work earlier in the week.

I STILL haven't tried anymore of my new products. I haven't finished my old sothys serum but may start on the Benton tonight and keep the rest of the sothys as a backup in case my skin goes nuts and I need to retreat to a safe product!
I want to try my banila honey essence but will wait until I have a clear idea of what the Benton does for me, then perhaps start using it at night under the honey sleeping pack.

I haven't even opened the box of the goodal toner, I'm not sure I'm even interested in it since the hada labo is working so magnificently, what a silly waste of money.

lucysmam · 14/09/2015 21:49

Maybe you could swap and change between the HL and Goodal depending on mood (and if the Goodal works for you)?

I like the variation this routine gives rather than the same few products over and over, which I find boring. This may be why I have a fair few body moisturisers I'm trying to work my way through at the moment though Hmm. There's only a few days left in the one I've been using but I'm itching to swap it out for something else!

goodasitgets · 15/09/2015 02:00

Did anyone else get the kawaii panda beauty box? Mine came today and it's lovely

muddlingalongquitenicely · 15/09/2015 05:43

I meant to order it and forgot until it was too late. What did you get in it?

lucysmam · 15/09/2015 09:17

No, I forgot all about it.

rubyshoes3 · 15/09/2015 10:02

I got my Kawaii panda box as well and I really like all the products in it. For the price I think it is a really good box.

goodasitgets · 15/09/2015 10:26

Innisfree peach hand cream
Tony moly lip scrub
Tony moly bamboo mist
Mamonde rose honey sleeping mask
24k gold premium secret key first cream
Étude house perfect cleansing foam

All full size

jackiekatu · 15/09/2015 17:35

Can anyone help me with the 24k gold cream or whatever CH is talking about please?

FrustratedFrugal · 15/09/2015 17:53

Envious of the Kawaiipand box! I've still that pesky eczema on my lip and have further pared down my routine. Glycolic every 2nd night, mineral makeup and Missha serum at night. My Biore sunscreen is almost used up!

Tired tonight after first night back at Rainbows so have skipped using my whitehead power liquid...feels quite strange after alternating that and the clearasil for the last month/6 weeks ish. I take over the group properly next week !

My lips are feeling a bit dry and rough the past couple of days. Not using anything new so am going to put it down to the changing weather & try harder to remember at least balm and not to lick them.

I'm still dithering over which cream to try for winter - the donkey milk apparently has a not pleasant texture so have removed that from my list! I'm thinking the COSRX honey ceramide for night (bonus - the ingredients are pretty much the same in the eye cream so I'm not going to try another of those at the mo), and the Innisfree Green Seed balancing cream - the name's wrong but I can't remember it right - for day.

Cosrx galactomyces essence is a definite on my list, seems better value for money than the Secret Key essence I have at the mo.

muddling, I really like the no sebum powder! I still need to blot before picking the girls up on an afternoon but it keeps me looking shine free.

muddlingalongquitenicely · 15/09/2015 20:58

I ordered it after you mentioned it Lucy

I keep smelling my hand where I first tried the BB cream and it smells so niceand I really like the selection of samples but don't want to open of them lol

Might try the banana sleeping mask while DH is still away in case it is really strong.
