Evening Voguettes,

Grin at your dds Stokey

Awks The Hobbs one looks a really nice shape but agree the belt lets it down. The M&S & Gap ones seem a bit meh and can't see the jaeger. Not sure if you tried Zara but I have a navy trench from there that's about 10 years old and still wear it. The lining is ripped in places but still looks good from the outside and is really well cut. I know Zara quality is pretty crap in general but I think their jackets are generally good. Found these two:

this and this (my favourite)

Love a trench. Have 2 Burberry ones, a non-classic v plain one without the epaulettes and belt so guess can't really call it a trench. The other one is classic shape but unfortunately pale pink. Bought it at The Mall in Tuscany years ago, a supposed bargain but really not my colour at all. Have got a lot better and not making mistakes since I joined this thread!

Marsha love the Marant trainers and think white definitely more you.

Stokey · 29/08/2015 08:44

I haven't worn the Boden ones yet Georgina but will probably wear with skinny jeans rolled up a bit or, if we get an Indian summer, with a midi skirt or pencil skirt. Bernice has them too and Shop has the Office ones. How do you two wear yours?

VivaVegas · 29/08/2015 08:57

Stokey I haven't got mine yet but have worn my silver ballet flats loads this summer so I'm hoping the silver ones will replace those to be worn as you say with skinnies. I quite like the navy as I have a midi Jersey tube skirt from Whistles and I think they'd look good with that for work and again it's skinnies for casual.

FedupNagging · 29/08/2015 09:20

Great live shopping the other day Marsha - didn't get a chance to log back on Thurs so spent the evening wondering what you purchased!

So, I wore my flares Thurs eve and got some lovely comments. I wore them with hobbs nude suede wedges, pink BR sleeveless blouse and navy broderie anglais blazer from Laura Ashley. Also took my new Mulberry Smile.

Vivavegas it's these flares. At £28 I'm going to buy another pair and have one to wear with heels and one to wear with flats.

Love your train convo Dry. We went to a 'country style' wedding recently and the flowers were just beautiful - they all looked like they had just been chucked down rather than artfully placed and so many different varieties and colours. The table centrepieces were cream metal buckets with flowers and masses of greenery and lots of garden type displays on wooden structures.

Those that went to the beach yesterday, I hope you remembered to wash your jeans in the sea Wink

Drywhitethanks · 29/08/2015 09:43

A very boring question:
If you wash something and it shrinks a bit will it shrink every time you wash it or only the once?

FedupNagging · 29/08/2015 09:53

Crap, have just lost a massive post with loads of comments and links Angry.

Awks agree re the Jaeger trench coat- I always feel a trench should be at least knee length. Love Mara's second link from Zara.

Saw this in the Gap sale. There is another slightly cheaper trench but not as nice as this.

Have been looking in Zara for peasant blouses
Like this
Love the sleeves on this but overall probably too voluminous for me
Quite like this but not sure about the neckline. the model looks about 12!

Capucine saw this blouse and thought of you.

Very 1970's Laura Ashley

Bernice Zara have a few 70's inspired dresses
Patchwork vibe
Like this
Love the neckline
This is so pretty but does look like a nighty!

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 29/08/2015 09:54

I haven't worn mine either Stokey Blush I haven't had them for long, in my defence. I think I will also wear with rolled jeans, and they will work for very rare nights out as I don't like to wear heels any more.

Lib I thought you would like the finery shoes - I think we have similar taste, especially where shoes are concerned Smile

Awks am not a trench expert but I like the longer ones you linked to - M&S and hobbs. I also prefer the longer one Mara linked. I guess this is one of those things where you need to try lots on. I have a check one from Hobbs (I think?) and I do like it for feeling put together.

Wearing a breton today, to me this signifies the beginning of autumn Shock Smile

FedupNagging · 29/08/2015 09:57

Oh dear Dry what have you shrunk?

I think things only shrink once - am always shrinking clothes and those that I can actually wear again don't seem to get smaller and smaller with each wash.

I have a boxy jumper from FCUK that has stretched but as I love it so much, still wear it - have put it on a 40 wash then a 50 wash but the bugger just wont shrink!

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 29/08/2015 10:10

Final one from me - Capucine Oxfam Online is a good place to look for vintage.

BerniceBobsHerHairAgain · 29/08/2015 10:11

Thanks for the links Fedup

QueenofCardigans · 29/08/2015 10:54

dry I find things only usually shrink once.
Zara has some really lovely stuff at the moment. Love some of those links *
fedup
awks trenches don't tend to suit me as they're often a little boxy and too classic but I normally like the ones in gap.
Has anyone seem a navy and grey scarf anywhere? I'm thinkng sort of tartan/checked. I wanted one last year and ended up buying a cheapie men's one from m&s but it was never love. I want one to love and don't mind spending but not too much.
I'm currently in sports wear waiting to go for a run when Dh gets back from cycling and my MD pink shoes trying to wear them in for tonight. Great combo Grin. They're a bit similar to ghillies and I plan on wraring with rolled up jeans and blouse.

onemightywizard · 29/08/2015 10:58

i just can't get shopping inspired! nothing i've seen anywhere is grabbing me or tugging at my heart. maybe i've just reached clothing capacity right now and should focus on accessories for a while.

Mynameismary123 · 29/08/2015 14:42

Well hello ladies, it's been some months since I last posted very briefly. Real life got in the way of fashion chat after going back to work and looking after a lively toddler!!! Anyway had a brief catch up on some links. In my preparation for Autumn coming I've ordered some Ash suede boots couldn't decide on beige or black so got both as good sale price Smile. Anyone who has meandem dresses what is the sizing like. I'm a size 14 and a few sale pieces have caught my eye. Hope to keep up the posts now I'm back. Grin

VivaVegas · 29/08/2015 15:41

Great links Fedup, might order a pair of those jeans to try. I always get on well with Next jeans.
Mary123 I have just bought me first Me&Em dress, I'm a 10/12 on top and a 10 bottom half and got a medium which fits perfectly.

Drywhitethanks · 29/08/2015 16:11

Fedup a pair of BR work trousers. It's not a problem as I
I like trousers a bit ankle grazer anyway.

Capucine00 · 29/08/2015 16:19

In love with Wallabies.

MN VOGUE VOL 62
Mynameismary123 · 29/08/2015 16:57

Thanks Viva I've taken the plunge and ordered 3 to try. Sorry no links as I'm on IPad and it's really rubbish at pasting. Will try again when they arrive if they stretch fit.
Struggling a little with some of the name changes but mostly I think I've got you all.

LinusLovesBretons · 29/08/2015 17:52

Evening!

No fashion news from me but today I held a 6 day old and my ovaries were twitching like mad. Shame DH was completely non receptive when I mentioned trying for another baby. Wink

At DP's tonight so eating mussels and chips. Yum!

Love those Wallabies capucine

Your style reminds me of Mignonette, an old MNVoguette who loved quirky shoes.

Oh, nearly forgot to mention that DM has bought two pairs of Chanel ballet flats that are gorgeous but unfortunately one size too big for me. Sad Otherwise I would have 'borrowed' a pair. Grin

Awks · 29/08/2015 18:03

Marade that Zara one is lovely, thank you. I've ordered it in 2 sizes to try. Thank you all for your helpfulness in my trench search Grin

QC what about this one ASOS or this cashmere

onemightywizard · 29/08/2015 18:03

i'm trying to hunt down some metallic grey suede dr martens i saw ages ago and can find no trace of now. i want them sooooooo badly. i have some already in the same style but in plain black leather and they are very comfy and will be great for when the weather turns. i think the style is called amileta or something like that so if anyone sees them on their travels, please give me a heads up!

as Mil is teaching me to sew, i'm going to try and find some plaid fabric to make a skirt, i'd like something in purples if i can find it

MarshaBrady · 29/08/2015 18:22

Yay or nay - Marant plaid or top?

MN VOGUE VOL 62
LinusLovesBretons · 29/08/2015 18:28

Plaid! I love plaid!

shopafrolic · 29/08/2015 18:35

AmberNectarine · 29/08/2015 18:43
