"My children always want things with TV or film characters on them. Louie desperately wanted a Spider-Man sunhat for the summer, but I refused — instead, I got him a very tasteful black one from COS, which he hated"

Selfish cow.

Here's the article

GeorginaWorsley · 28/08/2015 14:06

Thanks bernice
Am not sure I would ever wear them tbh.
I like the look if them but am sure the ties would annoy me!

AmberNectarine · 28/08/2015 14:43

Those mums would hate me - I've just done a massive Boden order for the DCs Wink

Today DD is wearing a Belle dress with a purple hoodie over the top and her brother's old timberland sandals

Bit disappointing not to get up and put my bikini on this morning! Triangl bikini was great incidentally - will definitely get another.

AmberNectarine · 28/08/2015 14:44

Should also add my DS has a spiderman Sunhat. I have failed him.

libertydoddle · 28/08/2015 14:56

I am a sucker for mini Boden Amber. Took delivery yesterday of 3 tops, 2 dresses, trackpants and a kaftan Blush.

Missed my outnet delivery - do not know how, have been in the house all day Confused. Rang DHL and they have promised to try and get it here today.

QueenofCardigans · 28/08/2015 15:05

Mine get kitted out in next, gap and supermarket mainly. And if it hasn't got a character on then ds is unlikely to wear it Grin

Capucine00 · 28/08/2015 15:10

My daughters favourite garment was a bight daffodil yellow sweatshirt, classic cut. It was very far removed from pale gris and cream.

She would wear it with striped leggings, wellingtons and a cloche hat belonging to her great grandmother. The hat had a droopy flower pinned to it and smelled old so by the end of the day, when my daughter sat on my lap before bathtime, it felt like I had an antique human on my knee Grin. No amount of pegging to the line or sponging gor rid of the smell (the hat, not my daughter).

She looked barking and that is what I love about kids.

VivaVegas · 28/08/2015 16:34

Have just ordered Boden Gillies in silver and navy as I couldn't decide which cover! They are reduced further and I got free delivery and 8% cash back on Quidco. I am only keeping one colour..........

libertydoddle · 28/08/2015 18:06

Famous last words Vegas Wink

Drywhitethanks · 28/08/2015 18:53

liberty idiot, pretentious parents. My big regret with DD was that pre school I was too practical to buy her pink shoes. If you can't be funky as a child when can you be? I was obsessed with crazy multi coloured tights. Like capucine I grew up with v
prescriptive/controlling mother re my wardrobe now turns out she was right, but part of growing up surely is trying fashion for yourself? loved La R and Verbaudet for DD. she loved bright colours and had the most almighty tantrum aged 3 when I tried to put her in camel cords with chic cherry red top .
bernice my birthday is in December part of MNV end of year birthday clique plenty of time for DH t get it wrongShock
georgina silver!! Silver!!!
On train eves dropping to fantastic convo about wedding planning and fashion, desperate to join in actually did in a rather embarrassing way now trying to shut up and read book but have read same page 21 times, why do people have to have interesting convos on trains? bloody cheek Grin

Capucine00 · 28/08/2015 19:19

I like it on the rare occasion that people join in with my random public transport conversations. Makes it go faster and sometimes you hear a really interesting story from a complete stranger. Cherry red top and camel cords- that sounds like something I'd wear now Drywhitethanks.

Awks · 28/08/2015 19:21

Hello all, long time no speak and hasn't there being a lot of goings on recently? Just back from holiday - went to Orlando so lots of lovely shopping and then to a lovely beach place. Orlando was very Banana Republic and beach very Ron Jon. I just wore denim shorts and plain white t's most of the time but it was so, so lovely to be warm.

Talking of triangle bikinis, dd's is all creased from the case. She's gutted and so am I as it was bloody expensive.

Drywhite what did you say when you butted in the convo? Grin

onemightywizard · 28/08/2015 19:25

do i go full 90's and buy a velvet choker?! that's tonights ponder for me. i want one, i suit them i just don't know if it'll be too much past for me to dwell in although i didn't do the tea dress tights and boots look as i wasnt allowed haha

Awks · 28/08/2015 19:32

Can you buy a length of velvet and just knot it?

Drywhitethanks · 28/08/2015 19:40

They were discussing cute deco ideas for barn wedding reception cappucine, she was saying how old milk churns filled with flowers are very lovely agree, but did sound a bit pretentious . Z a friend of mine had a lovely country barn wedding, milk churns and all.... But I adored the wheel barrow ans used Hunters filled with flowers -have DHs old pair one doorstep-/ do I just said "wheelbarrow! You really need s wheelbarrow and old Hunters"!!!! She rather liked the idea ! I also over heard the top secret place name idea...... But can not divulge on hereGrinWink

Drywhitethanks · 28/08/2015 19:42

Terrible typos ... Apologies, phone, wine, train not much hope of coherent posts Grin

Awks · 28/08/2015 19:45

Oooh go on, give us a clue. - I love a good barn wedding photo Grin What train were you on? A local one?

Drywhitethanks · 28/08/2015 19:55

No Awks big national ......

Capucine00 · 28/08/2015 19:56

Loving these details especially the Hunters filled with flowers, maybe at the end of each aisle if there's a church involved or next to the chairs?

Sounds pretty.

Drywhitethanks · 28/08/2015 20:04

I'm a sucker for a wedding

GeorginaWorsley · 28/08/2015 20:43

Grindry
Haven't ordered yet.
I have become quite frugal recently.
Unless I love something or desperately need it (unlikely. ..!) I don't buy.
went to Manchester yesterday and nearly everything I saw I thought. .
'Already got something like that ' etc.
DH will be delighted Wink

Awks · 28/08/2015 20:52

Me too. I can happily spend an evening googling "rustic wedding chic" Grin despite being married for 26 years.

Anyway, I'm on a trench hunt. Needs to be the perfect shade of tan.

Stokey · 28/08/2015 21:00

I bought the silver too Georgina. They're under £40 now

But I'm reading Suffocation at the moment so should know better than to encourage further buying Grin

My Mum has just come over with ridiculous amounts of clothes for the Dds. They are now obsessed with wearing matching clothes... I find it excruciating and pretend I don't know them.

Awks · 28/08/2015 21:05

So trench coats.

M & S

not so nice colour but cheap

gorgeous but maybe too short

no damn buckle

Anyone got a lovely one?

GeorginaWorsley · 28/08/2015 21:11

Have you worn them stokey ?
Can I ask what with?
I seem to live in converse /white Stan Smith a likes and occasional ballet pump type things or thong sandals.
I have 2 pairs of new Clarks heels that are lovely but I only wear on nights out .
Autumn will be leather converse or boots I suspect.
Am being uncharacteristically sensible Grin
