Linus I've been searching for the CdeM Lancôme collection everywhere but it doesn't seem to be out here yet. I want the burgundy mascara and the varnishes. Gorgeous as always Lara

Larastheme · 26/08/2015 20:56

Thanks marsha and linus,

After all the drama that went on with MN, and some personal issues, I feel like giving you all a big hug, and sing I'd like to buy the world a coke Grin

No linus, mine is S, i didn't want it to be fitted, did you try stylebop?

LinusLovesBretons · 26/08/2015 21:11

Ha shop for once we are first in the backwater where I live. Soooo tempted by the palette but I really don't need it.

Did you see the tutorial that Lisa Eldridge did on CdM with the palette?

Hope the nailvarnish doesn't chip too badly, have never tried Lancôme before.

lara Maybe I should go for an S as well then? Stylebop doesn't have it but NaP does but it's a bit more expensive and p&p is more expensive as well. I've put it on my MyTheresa wishlist just in case it comes back in stock.

shopafrolic · 26/08/2015 21:16

Keep me posted Linus I'll be interested to hear how it is. I did watch the tutorial - I actually thought CdeM would probably wipe it al off before heading to her party - she looked over done!

QueenofCardigans · 26/08/2015 21:16

Wow lara great shopping, I love the chloe jacket especially.
shop'have you tried going sulphate free on your hair? I don't cleanse but I've started double washing in the mornings. Neutrogena scrub (keeps the blackheads at bay) followed by facial wash. Since doing both my skin has been better. I don't tend to do anything in the evening but if I do I use micellar water.

libertydoddle · 26/08/2015 21:27

Fabulous stuff Lara. I particularly like the Chloe jacket.

Drywhitethanks · 26/08/2015 22:14

Oh thanks for the bracelet love. Think it's the most 'me' I've tried and cheaper too
laras are you a name change ? Suspect I've worked it out Hmm

KittyHello · 26/08/2015 22:19

Great haul Lara the cashmere turtleneck is to die for as well as the zipped card - perfect.

Marsha I love the colours of the sweaters you linked earlier, I so wish I could wear those colours they are gorgeous.

Shop would a Tangle Teazer be any good for your hair? I don't double cleanse I just use LRP cleansing gel in the morning.

KittyHello · 26/08/2015 22:21

Oops Dry forgot to say I love the leather bracelet. Sounds like you had a lovely day, shame you missed Marsha

QueenofCardigans · 26/08/2015 22:35

bernice forgot to answer your questions....
S/s....I don't feel that ive worn it all that much. I enjoyed wearing all of it on holiday especially the boden shorts and the new zara top.
A/w.....looking forward to wearing the toast top that I bought ages ago and rediscovering my purple and pine green cardis that I put away over the summer. Also looking forward to wearing my barbour hat as I love it.

maradesbois · 27/08/2015 00:01

Hello Voguettes,

Back from travels, had a quick scan back through last couple of pages to get to grips with name changes so think I know who you all are! Welcome to newbies too.

Kitty love the LV stole for you and love your reasoning, that's exactly what I would do, blow my budget on a knockout item and wear it every day so say go for it.

Lara gorgeous a/w wardrobe and yy to Chloé boots too. Finally starting to get excited about new season, feels like autumn here now so need to make wish list. Your description of how to style your Breton reminded me of a v elegant girl I saw at cdg airport the other day. She combined a navy Chanel long jacket with black skinnies, black leather espadrilles (think Chanel too), pale round sunnies, slouchy bag & that insouciant Parisienne attitude that stops it all looking too much.

Shop I use LRP effaclar micellar water plus either effaclar cleansing gel or sk:n exfoliating cleanser which is good maintenance between my salycilic facial treatments which have let go over summer but need to get back to as skin is suffering.

Also feeling like a chubber post hols need to drop a couple of kgs by getting back into my running.

Dry gorgeous bracelet. Enjoy London. Love the name Capucine too btw!

Marsha good outnet shopping, particularly love the jil sander.

Bernice good question, would say 1. Summer dresses in general. Has been good not doing skinnies every day. 2. Looking forward to doing good smart casual for autumn and wearing jackets before it becomes proper coat weather. Have barely worn navy Stella blazer so will be good to give it an airing.

maradesbois · 27/08/2015 00:06

Lib nice shopping too. Having a quick Outnet browse I saw this that thought would look fab on you tucked into a skirt.

LinusLovesBretons · 27/08/2015 06:47

Morning!

shop I forgot to mention the Wet Brush last night. It gets rid of knots really easily, especially in wet hair.

I use it on DD's hair and now very rarely use the Tangle Teezer.

I have the impression I keep forgetting to answer to people's posts or forget to welcome newbies but I am so confused with all the namechanges. Sorry about that.

libertydoddle · 27/08/2015 06:47

Do you know Mara I put that shirt in and out of my basket a few times yesterday....hmmm I think Shop could be right that the MK will be too acidic for me and then the Equipment might be a better buy...what to do? Annoying paying two delivery charges Confused

While I ponder on it how about this cardigan for Shop?

Stokey · 27/08/2015 08:12

Hello lovelies, enjoying all the new names. I love Dr Zhivago Lara, great new name.
And love the Chloe jackets and boots, much envy.

I have an ancient Mason Pearson brush Shop, more than 20 years old Blush so can testify that they last but have a few others too. I use a tangle teazer too with the DDs which they like.

I agree with Mara that it's been great to wear dresses over SS. But I have realised that it's so short that it isn't worth spending too much on them. H&M ones and cut-offs have been great buys.

I wore my Stans for the first time yesterday and it was like meeting an old friend so am looking forward to wearing them more.

Thanks for the Finery code Bernice. I saw this skirt which I love but sadly only size 6 left. Can someone skinny buy it - Amber?

Drywhitethanks · 27/08/2015 08:55

Have had Dr Zh theme tune in head since I woke up.... Think it's going to be with me all day.

onemightywizard · 27/08/2015 09:22

shop Denman do the same sort of bristle or bristle mix brushes that mason and pearson do but cheaper. they are decent, i have one and it's a few years old now and good as new

VivaVegas · 27/08/2015 10:41

Flying in, be back later to catch up properly! In case anyone is interested Me&Em have extra final discounts on their sale stuff.

AmberNectarine · 27/08/2015 12:10

Hello all

stokey that skirt is lovely - I have a near identical one in my pile of things that need to go to the tailor to be made smaller.

Loving the autumn buys - am going to brave C Lon on sat to get a few bits - bag, coat and maybe boots, but DH is now saying he wants to come with me which is killing my mojo a bit - it's like taking a bored toddler shopping.

As for shop's questions - I have most enjoyed wearing shorts and cropped tops this S/S. Nice to actually be happy with my figure for once!

Looking forward to wearing the things I will hopefully get on Sat, which I'm not linking just yet! ;)

Capucine00 · 27/08/2015 12:14

Back again....got scared off by a message from my security provider telling me the MN og in page was not secure.... Shock...

To answer one of the questions (I love a fash question, me) what I have most enjoyed wearing this summer has been my Shrimps fake fur because its been cold enough at night to huggle up on the sofa, wearing it instead of a blanket or throw. My husband laughs at me then starts thinking of Marianne Faithful in a fur and nothing else and I have to beat him off with the nearest book or sharp implement...sometimes... Wink

I have also enjoyed a cheesecloth halter dress in cream and rust red fine stripe on hotter days. I wore this to a supper club night in Dalston and despite the heat from the charcoal griddle, I was comfortable. It is backless to the waist but high necked at the front and a little lower than knee length. I have loved this summers sandals, the stack heels and blocky shape. They always make legs look thinner and I like that fashiony stork on stilts thing. The seventies style thin chiffon and liberty tana lawn shirts have been good to wear too, especially when I needed to be presentable for work but still be comfy. I wore them with a close leg pant, a block heel sandal, nothing too on trend. I've reintroduced the brooch too. Went to an antiques barn and bought loads of them in paste, tortoiseshell and other materials. The pseudo Cartier Duchess of Windor and Liz Taylor look is what I am going for here. Several brooches pinned onto textured cardigans as the weather cools, clustered on a lapel or even the shoulder. Then a marm skirt, thick ribbed tights, high heeled 'madam librarian' style shoes, spotted silk or lawn shirt opened lower than usual (breaking my no cleavage rule). I'm thinking of that Marc Jacobs look of 02-03 which SJP and The Gap adopted for a while- I want to update it with more focus on texture this time.

Capucine00 · 27/08/2015 12:15

"Supper club night in Dalston"

You are going to think I am a wanker, aren't you Confused?

libertydoddle · 27/08/2015 16:28

Grin capucine it's Vogue! A bit of wankery goes with the territory!

Quiet here today. Is everyone burned out from yesterday's shopping and linking frenzy?

I have had a killer day at work. Limping home early now with a headache and a sore throat.

MarshaBrady · 27/08/2015 16:37

Not at all Capucine!

Soothing sounds for you Lib

I'm having second thoughts on the Vince top. It's nice but quite ££ for what it is and I much prefer the short sleeved version at Matches. I'm going to quickly go to Liberty again and see if there's something else which will probably be more ££

FedupNagging · 27/08/2015 16:46

Lara fabulous shopping yesterday - love the jacket.

Really love your leather bracelet too Dry

Lib Flowers - its Friday tomorrow then its the weekend, yay!

I enjoyed wearing various dresses on holiday this year - none of them got much wear here obviously.

The 2 items I have worn the most (and loved) were the wide legged trousers from AR and the mint velvet maxi dress.

Am going to embrace the dress with boots look this winter so that it what I am looking forward to wearing most at the moment.

The flared jeans from Next have arrived - ordered 2 pairs and like the cheapest best - result. make my thighs look slim -ish They look fab with high wedges but do need taking up a little.

I chucked in this peasant top at the same time. I adore the style and colour - big 3/4 sleeves and the neck line but not sure I like the feel of it (viscose). Also need to size down. Will need to think and have a look around for something similar in cotton/cotton mix.

Capucine00 · 27/08/2015 16:49

Thank you Libertydoddle and MarshaBrady.

I will likely scatter fashion wankery liberally then with joy :)
