Not quite sure how that went so quickly. Continuing the search for stylish bargains. Lurkers welcome - bring links and a smile :)

Lib I quite like those shoes they are quite cute.

Ujjayi · 26/07/2015 22:46

Novice I love that dress.

Marsha I could totally see you in Marant.

Ujjayi · 26/07/2015 22:50

Dry good to hear DS is coping well. Hope the weather cheers up for your trip. I really like camping but DH hates it so we don't do it as a family.

Drywhiteplease · 27/07/2015 07:55

Betty can't bail although believe me I'd love to as feeling a bit of peer pressure and DD had been really looking forward to it. Definitely won't commit again though.

Topazandpearl · 27/07/2015 08:17

Good luck Dry. The weather here is similarly grim, so I don't envy you. You will be up there with Amber in medal-earning territory for services to parenthood!
Loved your dress novice. I hope you all enjoyed the wedding.
I agree that the jacket on the right is more you Marsha but if lib is right and you already have one like it, perhaps not.
Someone on the Marie Kondo thread linked www.into-mind.com, which I am reading as I am not getting on too well with decluttering my wardrobe in advance of our house move. Maybe it is because I did such a good job when I decluttered last year or maybe I just don't like admitting mistakes, but I am finding it hard to get rid of much. Will have another go today.

Drywhiteplease · 27/07/2015 08:28

Waterproofs and wine....waterproofs and wine...................

MarshaBrady · 27/07/2015 08:53

Thanks for comments on Marant.

I really like the dark grey but already have a dark grey peacoat and oversized dark grey Marant coat. So I shouldn't get that really.

And the tweed is good but I can't imagine weating it in work just to it, maybe.

I looked again and have until September so will go back and get something.

Dry good luck camping!

bettykt · 27/07/2015 11:29

Dry it's dried up here so hopefully it's dried up where you are and you can enjoy a rain free trip.

A bit late to the game but I've just ordered that Marie Kondo book, I don't have tonnes of clothes but I still have far too much other stuff. All the cupboards in my house are full to the rafters with crap, stuff I haven't seen or used for years Hmm so I want to start getting rid of it along with paperwork which I seems to keep for years.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 27/07/2015 17:14

Hi all! hope those that are away are enjoying their hols.

Dry Shock hope the champagne helps with the weather! Sorry to hear about your DS, glad he is on the mend but he must be so gutted he can't play for a while. Loved your facial expressions on fb though

Today was my first day of jury service, was a nice short day. Didn't make it to TK Maxx though. And got asked out while looking windswept and sweaty while on my walk home! Grin

I like the baby rockstuds. They seem good value compared to the adult/real ones!

MyVegasBaby · 27/07/2015 20:29

Just checking in from a bar, still over 30 degrees and 10.30pm.
Outfits good so far, in shorts tonight as so hot!

maradesbois · 27/07/2015 20:55

Hello,

Hope Stokey, QueenC, Fedup and other holidaymakers are having a fab time. Dry as long as you can keep warm and have a glass of something nice am sure it'll all be fine!

Dreary weather here, feels like winter already. Mil came to visit for the weekend from 34 degrees where she lives and couldn't believe the rain in London. Also had a hellish visit to Buckingham Palace. They completely messed up the logistics and we had to queue for 1.5 hrs even with prebooked tickets. She loved it though and cheered up even more after a nice lunch at Scott's.

My equipment silk pjs arrived, love them, actually wearing now having a lovely catchup with dsis.

Marsha the Marant stuff looked great but I did think the darker grey jacket too similar to your Margiela.

Do baby rockstuds actually exist or are they all just knockoffs?

QueenCardigan · 27/07/2015 20:56

Just popping in to say I hate Mosquitos. They're out in force tonight and judging by all the bites I can feel I am going to be covered in bites tomorrow morning Angry.

MarshaBrady · 27/07/2015 21:07

Mara I loved those pjs, glad they are as good as they looked. Agree on the dark grey. Will go back and choose something else.

Blair hope jury service is ok.

QueenC, MyVegas love the catch ups from holidays. So [green] and I can't wait to be in the hot weather.

Betty and Topaz I haven't done Kondo but have thrown bags of stuff out recently. Good luck, let us know how much goes out. Always so many bags I find.

Fedup and Stokey and Ujj if you've gone, hope you are having fab times, sure you are.

Novice gorgeous dress.

Shop how's it going kiddo?

Ditto Dry is it dry or is it sopping?

NaP sales finishes tomorrow if anyone can be bothered.

MyVegasBaby · 27/07/2015 22:10

Day two, same sandals for .two nights and they are the Hush ones I wasn't keen on, only 6 more pairs to wear.

libertychick · 28/07/2015 07:21

Morning all!
dry how did last night go?

topaz thanks for linking 'into mind'. I hadn't read it in ages and it is good. Especially her thoughts in identifying your own personal style.

And today I am wearing one of those outfits I feel good in so following the 'into mind' approach here it is with the reasons why!

Black straight leg Jenna jeans from River Island - good fit, right amount of stretch. Straight leg flattering on my shape

Hobbs dark green jersey top - perfect autumn colour, fits well, boat neck and 3/4 sleeves both of which suit me.

Burberry trench - again good fit and colour. Feels luxe and I always feel 'pulled together' and smart in it.

Elia B leopard print loafers - v v comfy, make the jeans look smarter, leopard print gives outfit a little bit of edge

Heart shaped green murano glass pendant on a gold necklace and a gold tone bangle - both gifts from friends so make me smile when I wear them. Both are understated while being a little bit different.

Coral Jaeger tote and Navy Pliage! Have a lot to carry today!

Anyway, the whole outfit is the right level of smart casual for the day, I like all the different pieces, everything works together and its really comfortable and practical. Smile

QueenCardigan · 28/07/2015 07:24

Lush. Dc still asleep, Dh out on bike and I'm enjoying a quiet cup of tea. Much cooler so far this morning which is good. I'm covered in bites as predicted but at least I won't ever forget to put mozzie repellant on again!

I can't decide whether to go shopping or not. I think for a 2 hour round trip I can't be bothered. Zara, mango etc are all cheaper out here but havng looked at the websites it seems to be exactly the same stock as uk which is disappointing as I thought I may find some different stuff.

My holiday wardrobe so far seems to be a success. The boden chino shorts are great and I love them for evenings. The two things I ummed and aahed about bringing are the next lace dress and my knee length denim shorts and I know Im unlikely to wear either as it's just too hot. I've bought a huge straw hat and with my Sunnies and kaftan I like to feel that I'm channelling pool side glamour whereas in reality I'm a sweaty mess Grin. I'm starting to look a bit sunkissed but it's so hot I stay covered up most of the day. The boden rash vest is another wardrobe winner.

libertychick · 28/07/2015 08:44

I'm loving all the holiday wardrobe updates. We are not going away until end of November but I am trying to make sure I have everything I need now.

shopafrolic · 28/07/2015 08:51

Loving the holiday posts
Waving to Marsha all good. Window still not repaired though. Someone coming to 'look at it' on Thurs so house still feels horrible.
j Crew bits arrived. Birkenstocks are fab to replace an old pair that I just wear at home. The silver is holographic (might be having a mid life crisis!).
Also like the striped navy top, the silver stripes make it a bit more interesting. Not to be worn with the Birkies though Grin
The striped Ganni in the XL has arrived and is actually a better fit than the large (I'm only a 12 FFS) so will send the large back (kept the tags on thank God).
Sale shopping officially over and I'm all striped out!
Took DS to Milton Keynes yesterday to buy some Lego, they've put sandpits in various places. Watched a woman lose control of her toddler who stood up lobbing sand everywhere including into her very expensive handbag - I nearly grabbed him myself to stop him! Grin
And finally..... life on Marbs may be my new guilty viewing pleasure. So bad. And the plastic boobs and faces Confused but replaces the MiC gap.

Oh and Lib love the outfit but what's 'into mind'?
So much to say.....
Love Kondo and have done loads of sortingn having read it lat year. Am now reading The Chimp Paradox to help with the anxiety stuff. Seems helpful.

Queen I had the Next lace dress as a maybe in my packing pile but left it at home as I thought it would be too warm and so far it was the right thing to do.
Wore my so far unworn jumpsuit with Hush sandals and new statement necklace on night one and will wear it again. Black chino shorts, bright top and Hush sandals last night. Felt dressed up but cool enough in the heat.
Pool and book is the order of the day!

Topazandpearl · 28/07/2015 09:35

Shop into-mind.com minimalist personal style blog. Reading it encouraged me to order that MIH Breton you linked Lib (thank you Smile). I had been sitting on my hands as it is so like the one I already have. However, as I really like mine, I was encouraged to try a different version.

I have also used the sales to invest in some quality cashmere. I have a Brora black cardigan on order (will link in a minute). This is to replace the merino cardigan I have had for the last three years and has been much worn at work. As I am on a self-imposed shopping ban, I have decided that DH can give this to me for my birthday (conveniently forgetting about the Breton above).

I got rid of two bags-full yesterday, one bag of shoes, some hardly worn, which were either too uncomfortable or didn't go with anything and I was keeping 'just in case', and one bag of clothes that had drifted to the back of the wardrobe for too long.

Great updates from the holiday-makers! Hope Dry has kept warm and dry (hah!)

Hope jury service isn't too boring Blair. I have never done it but have heard that it can either be fascinating or a complete bore if you don't get called.

It is good that you have more time to decide Marsha if you weren't sure.

Love the sound of your outfit Lib. I think I may have to change my outfit. The rain has stopped and the sun is trying to come out. Looking forward to meeting up with the lovely Mara later.

Topazandpearl · 28/07/2015 09:37

Brora cardigan

Topaz your clear out story has encouraged me to get rid of all my old work court shoes - they all look so dated now (I was hanging onto them in case I go back to work) - even if I got an interview tomorrow I wouldn't wear them! So we are breton twins? Hope you like it.....

OP posts:
Topazandpearl · 28/07/2015 09:52

Shop we are almost Breton twins. The one I have ordered is here. However, I do have an old Mint Velvet thick-striped Breton, which has the same waffly texture as yours, so almost here!
