Happy birthday to Amber's DD yesterday, love the Daddy's Willy story. Thank God ours haven't walked in yet, we still have an intercom for them, so hear them before they catch us.

It's my birthday today, I'm taking the girls for tea and cake after school, then out for dinner with DH tonight. Then off camping with friends in Suffolk tomorrow eek. Definitely not my natural habitat and the first time with the DC, will be dressing for warmth!

Camping I know DH is very keen and is already indoctrinating DS to ask about a camping trip so I know I'll have to give in sooner or later but I am resisting as long as possible.

My MiH shirt from Asos finally arrived today and is lovely.

I might also have ordered some very discounted MiH skinny jeans from Asos a few days ago. I love the fabric of my Marrakesh so much and I hope the skinnies are as nice.

Am drinking some DH and friends bought after a winetasting session in Provence when I was pregnant with DD.

I couldn't join them because I was pregnant so I went grocery shopping and then picked them up at the vineyards as I was the only one not drinking. So now I finally get to taste it, about three years later!

Have spent most of the day in the kitchen (girls round tomorrow eve) and the garden. Am rocking messy hair and a very slightly grubby stripy t shirt dress I bought in the US last year.

I'm here with Gigis and Gap boyfriend shorts firmly ON at 4pm today when it got HOT . Tomorrow it will be dress and bare legs again after 4 days' break.

Funny how I was thinking about A/W clothes yesterday and then the new La Redoute arrived in the afternoon. Love this catalogue am I allowed to say that here? sometimes you can pick up some nice bits and they are forever sending discounts.

Ordered this 100% cotton, love lace as you know.

And this dress for work, washable, might work with a pair is suede ankle boots I have my eye on and a bright cardigan

Tempted by this 100% merino dress too. Has matching longline cardigan, looks nice with a belt and ankle boots for work.

Hot here this afternoon too. Really fancy a glass of wine right now but trying to be good and only drink onnSaturday night when I'm out and at the meet up. I'd like to lose a couple of pounds if possible in the next 2 weeks before going away.

I have a couple of super cheap cashmere jumpers from La Redoute that I've had for about 18m and are wearing well (better than the crappy MaxMara one which bobbled after one wear and was 10x the price)

Style free zone here today - Mickey Mouse t shirt from Uniqlo and too big cropped black Goldsigns which I spent all day hoiking. Helped take DD's nursery class on a picnic though so best I didn't wear any finery.

I was looking at their cashmere....have some lovely colours for autumns.

Back to the hot weather. Wearing other storied navy cotton midi skirt, beige uniqlo sleeveless silk shirt, olive cropped cardigan. Shoes not the high point, Clark's ballet style trainerish flats in grey but have to walk a lot today.

QueenC I wear cardigans all the time, love them. Have very few sweaters, really don't find them as comfortable or as easy to wear as cardigans, i tend to only wear sweaters with jeans but wear cardigans with everything

So, my sister is having to move in with me for a short while, this is going to be...interesting for want of better wording, we clash a lot as it is, we are very different people but this has to happen for a short while. I'm an adult and can deal with it even though we both know we are both going to find it difficult, I guess we just have to muddle through and make the best of it, i'll do my thing, she'll do hers and hopefully we can manage not to have an major blow ups over anything
