Shop and Amber would look good in this with some kick ass shoes

For Blair

Marsha? but with nicer footwear

QueenCardigan · 31/05/2015 07:47

Morning. marsha he went to see Avengers. He's still asleep next to me so no idea if it was good or not. Bbq today for lots of people. It's raining Hmm.

Lovely dress fedup but a bit short and tight for me. Reckon dry could do it better justice than me.

Fedupnagging · 31/05/2015 07:52

Gorgeous colour shoes

Stokey · 31/05/2015 08:06

Morning - I also woke up at 4 Fedup. Felt like I'd just got back to sleep when the kids woke, now in dazed state in fornt of cartoons trying to revive self with biroche and copious amounts of tea.

I'm on the edge of a cold too so sending echinacea and added vit C to Marsha and Shop. It's DH 40th party next weekend so can't be ill. He's having a joint one renting a country house with a friend but she's been rubbish about organising anything so am trying to help.

I'm still struggling with my villian costume for the party - was going to go as a fallen angel in a black dress with gothic make-up so ordered black wings & halo but they are definitely meant for children Confused. I'm thinking about Margaret Thatcher now but need to source a power suit and wig and am running out of time.

What's everyone wearing today? Miserable weather here and have kids party to go to so will inevitable end up in my Hoxton jeans and Stans.

shopafrolic · 31/05/2015 08:59

God I still feel awful. DH has gone out, DS downstairs in front of TV - I'm in bed with a head full of snot. Lovely dress Fedup I do love HL.
I have this village meeting thing tomorrow night that I've been helping to organise. Local councillors, police and about 100 villagers coming. A bit nerve wracking. Fingers crossed.
Rubbish weather here today so will just slob about in scruffies probably. Need to get my act together.

QueenCardigan · 31/05/2015 10:52

stokey no idea what to wear. Still in pjs tidying house and then will go for a run. Desperately hoping that the sun comes out later.
shop hope you feel better soon.

BrandyAlexander · 31/05/2015 11:21

Morning! We got back late last night after a lovely half term in the sun. I decided to take a break from mumsnet, pinterest, Facebook and linkedin while we were away and feel all refreshed. It probably took about 3 days to de-stress but feel much better than before i went away. i didn't take a break from the Internet though. It's fun shopping the Selfridges preview sale from a sun lounger while clutching a glass of rosé. Wink

hope everyone has had a good half term too. Shop sorry to hear you're not well. Thanks

Cranagh · 31/05/2015 11:26

Love that dress, Mara!

Get well soon, Shop, Marsha and Stokey.

Barbour jacket arrived, DH told me that I look like his mum on her way to play golf in it. Needless to say it's already been posted back to House of Fraser! Oh well, more money for the Comptoir sale.

We're off to a museum today, looking forward to sun next week (fingers crossed).

Karbea · 31/05/2015 11:53

Hello,

Sorry I've been AWOL this week, I can redeem myself by sharing some purchases! I got a lovely iPad case from smythson, some lanvin ballet pumps (the shoes are lovely, but how nice are their shoes boxes!!), and a really love dress from prada, I can't find it online, but it's red, flared skirt and wrap low cut top, my friend said it looked very DVF which describes it very well.

Off to catch up! Hope everyone's well.

Karbea · 31/05/2015 12:10

Dress is orange not red.

cranagh I've tried a few barbours and always feel like my mil :/

fedup I love the flared trousers the stripes will look good because they are vertical.

MarshaBrady · 31/05/2015 12:18

My phone hid vogue by accident Tg I found you, gets me every time.

Fedup lovely dress I really want a tea bags dress.

Novice welcome back, your holiday sounds lovely - always nice to take a break from online to really relax.

Cranagh I wasn't sure if you'd worn it yet, worse if you had and he said that, would not be happy.

Stokey sometimes the light wakes me really early as we didn't up curtains (not overlooked)

Still recovering, one dc doing homework the other out with dh. I'm taking it easy.

Karbea · 31/05/2015 12:22

Oh and last night I wore to the engagement party the prada dress and my orange valentinos, I danced my feet off and the shoes were soooooo comfy, feet don't hurt at all this morning, love them!
I've found a big gap in my handbag wardrobe though, I ended up using my croc TF bag as dh thought it looked the best (he only said that as he is obsessed with TF), I need an evening bag that'll go with my autumn wardrobe.
I also need a more slouchy bag to take to my new job...
Suggestions welcome!

MarshaBrady · 31/05/2015 12:23

Karbea they both sound incredible.

What colour Lanvin flats did you get, where from and a link?
How exciting.

MarshaBrady · 31/05/2015 12:24

And yes the boxes are beautiful. I had a massive boot one for a while but did get rid of it in the end as so big.

Karbea · 31/05/2015 12:38

marsha These ones.

MarshaBrady · 31/05/2015 12:46

I'd happily wear that whole outfit.

Fedupnagging · 31/05/2015 12:55

Gorgeous shoes Karbea. Sounds like you have done some successful shopping. Have you got clothes for your new job yet?

Marsha there were a couple of t bag dresses on the outnet earlier.

Are you still awake Stokey? Grin. Have kept busy otherwise I will fall asleep-might try for a nap later.

I'm wearing jeans, navy vest, heather boxy jumper and bags under my eyes!

Novice welcome home; so pleased you feel rested.

QueenCardigan · 31/05/2015 14:27

Love those shoes karbea.

Wearing navy chiffon blouse and skinnies and big thick cardigan. It's dry at last but freezing. Hopefully I won't notice of a couple of glasses bottles of prosecco. Looking forward to the predicted heatwave next weekend. We've got a big party to go to so ive just done a Uniqlo order of that dress that was linked while ago plus another. It'll be fine to wear flats as its in a marquee and we've been told no stiletto heels.

OneLittleLady · 31/05/2015 15:24

afternoon all

glad you've had a nice break novice I hope you've been looking after yourself

nice to see you again karbea

Hope you're feeling brighter soon shop you too marsha

I've spent the morning editing a track, I hate editing audio, it's so time consuming but it has to be done. Vocal comping is a total PITA but needed for this track. I'd got myself so worked up and convinced I couldn't do it, my friend came round to pep talk me through it and all i need to do now is tweak some bits of audio so they are in the right time and then do the final mix down. it's been a real pain trying to get it done with me having been so ill for seemingly weeks on end with that blasted kidney infection. Just having a bit of a break from it right now to refresh my ears. too much at once and you sort of become deaf to certain things, regular breaks are very much needed when editing or you risk messing up because you miss things

Karbea · 31/05/2015 15:35

one I think when you are concentrating on something you have to have breaks and\or leave it for a few hours and go back to it. Otherwise for sure you'll miss things. I guess it's, you can't see the wood for the trees or something.

I've just been and resigned! So I start at the local bikram studio next Monday! I have bought nothing as they were dragging their feet sending me a confirmation letter, so didn't want to tempt fate.

Anyway, I now need to frantically work out what I need and buy it!

OneLittleLady · 31/05/2015 16:39

yeah, definitely karbea i get so into it that is tart missing things that should be obvious so I've had another half an hour on it and am now havign a longer break. i've done the really hard stuff now it's a case of tweaking and adding effects where they are needed and adding in midi parts if they are required. i've got until the end of the week to finish it along with my technical report but i didn't want to leave it untilt he morning it's due in as even though i could have done a rush job on it, it wouldn't have been worth marking IMHO. rather spend a bit of time on it and make the best of it I can with what i've got

Drywhiteplease · 31/05/2015 18:12

Fedup LOVE that DVF dress, really very me. BUT I'm trying you've all heard this before to be good and buy only things that I need sooooooo boring

Today Ive been celebrating a friend's birthday with other girlfriends, had "brunch" which finished at 4pm Shock opened the Champagne "let Dry do it, she's good at that" so proudGrin just wish I'd got DH to drive me missed opportunity, darn

I'm trying not to wear my jimmies so much. Wore:
Claret skinny chinos Gap
Cream embroidered cotton top
Animal print pointy baldingSad flats
Stone biker jacket
Felt good

Stokey · 31/05/2015 18:46

Prada dress sounds lovely Karbea

No sleep Fedup but spent the afternoon drinking Rosé at a children's party so doubt I'll survive much longer!

I let dd1 choose my clothes today so ended up back in green skirt, a flowery top and purple jumper. It was a good effort on her part Grin

Karbea · 31/05/2015 19:45

Does anyone feel like taking a look at my pin board for yoga clothes and tell me what to buy, I feel like I've added so much on there now and I'm confused. Also not 100%happy with the trainers I've found.

libertychick · 31/05/2015 23:24

Karbea I still haven't managed to work out who you are on pin - let me know and I will happily have a look.

Big decision today drum roll I have decided to defer year 2 of my MBA. It's too much right now, work is insane and the study needs 10-14 hours per week. I've had a constant cold for 3 months and my back and neck are in agony from too much sitting. And DD asks me every single morning if I will have time to play with her today Sad. Once I decided I had an instant sense of a huge weight lifting - feels good Smile

Have decided to forget about the M&S coat and jumper - went in today and was a huge queue and system not working properly. Decided they were not worth a half hour wait to collect so therefore not worth it at all Grin fickle, thy name is Lib
