Unilateral decision... No space for consultation. Call me Dave...

Lots of catching up to do. Firstly, Herbs, I am so sorry to hear about your MiL - your poor DP. Enjoy your trip to Paris.

I laughed at Butterflies, but always felt uncomfortable with it for some reason (probably because my DM, from Yorkshire, instilled a 'if you want to do it, you can' attitude in me and DSis). I am not good at anything, but competent at most things, so Ria not cooking, for instance, irritated me.

I like the boots, MI, but not in white. With my size 41 feet they would look like ten league boots on me.

We had a great day in York on Thursday. I managed to buy a camel/light tan cross body bag from the Osprey outlet - very classic and extremely useful, I think.

MrsSchadenfreude · 23/05/2015 13:52

There is a pub on Trafalgar Square called the Admiralty - shall we meet there?

MollyAir · 23/05/2015 13:56

Yes! That would be perfect. So it's you, me, BD, wilbur and...anyone else? BTM?

bigTillyMint · 23/05/2015 14:52

I think my train doesn't get in till 9, but I will text you when I get in if I am not completely drained by DM!

Am fuming here. Next door have dodgy builders in. One of them was explicitly eyeing me up both yesterday morning and just earlier as I came and went to the car. DD and her mates said another came out into the garden to ogle them fooling about yesterday afternoon. I told her to tell me immediately if it happened again and I will give them a piece of my mind.
But what exactly to say? Normally I wouldn't hold back, but they are working on next door and I don't want to make it awkward or worse for DD/me!

BTM - Rude answer: F**k off you lecherous bastard.

Polite English answer: Sorry, can I help you with something?

Positively risky answer and not to be tried by dd: Would you like to come over and have some?

bigTillyMint · 23/05/2015 15:37

Beachy, I would normally go with the first, but "Do you want some?" with DS popping up beside me might work too!

lalsy · 23/05/2015 18:21

I'd want to turn the garden hose on builders next door ogling my dd, BTM. How rude and intrusive. But would probably restrain myself and apply a Very Hard Stare. It is hard if they are next door all the time.

wilbur · 23/05/2015 18:53

Admiralty pub sounds perfect for Tuesday night, I will aim to be there at 6pm. Bar at Haymarket Hotel is v nice too (maybe for another Crepey meet) but my boss is likely to be in there ahead of the show which might cramp my style somewhat!

BTM - can you have a quiet word with neighbours and say something like "your builders might not realise that dd is only 16, blah, blah, I'm sure they wouldn't want to make her feel uncomfortable etc etc". A bit feeble (I'd probably be with Lalsy on the hose/hard stare options) but it might get the message across without upsetting builders/neighbours or mortifying dd.

NU - where is the Osprey outlet in York? I may be up there in early July and might even have time for a bit of shopping. I am desperate for a new bag as I am still using the one I borrowed from dd in January (and yes, I do look like a 12 yr old girls carrying it Blush). I need a flat but not too flat, cross body medium size - ideally like a soft satchel. If anyone sees one on their shopping travels let me know. Will consider all colours/patterns/materials.

Eurovision, mojitos and Maltesers.

DH is, as ever, scoring avidly.

Sadly the neighbours are not here/twats anyway!
There was a big drama this afternoon when the workers' wanky boss turned up and was shouting at the aged plasterer. For ages. We felt sorry for him and DD wanted to make signs saying "save Chris" (wanky boss was shouting very loud, calling him Chris. Even though he is E EuropeanConfused)

I think I will go with Beachy's first (or third if DS is in) suggestions - it's not the old guy, but one that looks like a rat (DD's description) and a totally different one to the one who has been ogling me. Twice.

Back from friends afternoon BBQ - DH has retired to bed...

beachyhead · 23/05/2015 22:42

Just got back from our first barbie of the year, rode home on unlit bikes down our dark country lane and made it home! Happily ensconced in front of Eurovision with another glass of vino......watching beardie man singing very well!

bigTillyMint · 23/05/2015 22:46

Eeek Beachy, wouldn't trust myself on a bike after a few! Luckily only 10mins walk away for us!

DD and I watching Euro too.

Tuesday, 6, Admiralty - got it......

No Euro here, nice bottle of Cava curtesy of Naked Wines..... D's off the do the Malvern Munch - I intend to stay in bed....

NUFC69 · 24/05/2015 10:14

Damp and grey here today which just about sums up my mood as we have the dreaded football this afternoon and we're convinced the team will be relegated....

Wilbur, the Osprey outlet is in McArthur Glen outlets just outside York. We leave the car there and use the Park and Ride scheme as parking is so awful. Are you going for work? I am always up for a trip to York - just saying. My bag should have been £140, but I got it for £69 so very pleased. I will see if I can find it online. I have seen Osprey in T K Max as well.

MI, meant to say: great news about DM. Good luck with the builders, BTM.

Rosebag · 24/05/2015 12:05

Suggest sneaking bromide into the Builders Tea Tilly. How ghastly for you and DD.

Rudy I had an earring disappear into one of my piercings recently. I got it out by treating with TCP as it was inflamed. The hole is now bigger than the others. Yuck.

I am having a very trying morning try into make DDads birthday tea…have had to re make the birthday cake (don't ask or I'll cry...) and scream loudly at everyone, especially DD who won't get on with her blasted art homework and DH who just stands there… Angry

Rudy can you get your DD or DS's to help - might be easier for them if they can see the back?

No hangover this morning (I LOVE Prosecco!) and a long lie - in - DH's word to the builders about not banging/chiselling whatever at 8am was obviously taken heed of! No perving so far either (am sunbathing)Smile

bigTillyMint · 24/05/2015 12:48

Rose hope the first cake didn't go to wasteWink

Rosebag · 24/05/2015 14:02

The first cake was the culinary version of a bin jumping episode Blush

Second cake now made... Hmm

bigTillyMint · 24/05/2015 14:04

Definitely didn't go to waste then!

Rosebag · 24/05/2015 14:17
