No go on, show us Herbs, I want a mid weight coat too Grin

herbaceous · 15/05/2015 19:28

I mean, I've spotted another jacket and cagoule I already own. Upping my already embarrassing collection.

This is the Uniqlo offering, but it is a) not waterproof, and b) exactly like two of my other coats.

hattymattie · 15/05/2015 19:33

Herbs - isn't that a bit like the Michael Kors one you have but not as nice. I don't think you need this one

bigTillyMint · 15/05/2015 19:34

Oh it's a bargain, HerbsWink!

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/05/2015 19:49

DD2 wanted that coat, Herbs, but I refused to pay £79 for it for her, so she got something similar, in cotton, from Forever 21.

I need a new raincoat, but I think raincoats are such dull things, I can't be bothered to look.

herbaceous · 15/05/2015 19:53

Boden's latest jaunty offering Anything but dull, Mrs S!

bigTillyMint · 15/05/2015 19:58

Herbs, the tulip oneShock My eyes!

Blackduck · 15/05/2015 20:46

I love seasalt. I have a seasalt coat it's lush.... But I have a shop nearby so can go in and try it on.

wordassociationfootball · 15/05/2015 21:08

Rose Sad Flowers that's rubbish, very sorry.

Rudy poor DS2

MrsSchadenfreude · 15/05/2015 21:11

I'd look like a badly upholstered sofa in that tulip print.

bigTillyMint · 15/05/2015 21:12

MrsS, I think anyone would look like a badly upholstered sofa in that tulip printGrin

Blackduck · 15/05/2015 21:19

Agree BTM... That tulip number hmmm. I predict lots of them in the sale

hattymattie · 15/05/2015 21:28

I don't understand why they would make something which obviously no one would want to wear ( I don't think).

hattymattie · 15/05/2015 21:31

I'm watching Into the Woods with DS - I'm sort of hoping the wolf gets Red Riding Hood who is played by an annoying American child.

lalsy · 15/05/2015 22:55

Those tulips don't look much like tulips either. They look quite like the audio icon on my laptop. And are they supposed to look like a bad wallpaperer has put them on?

Herbs, I like that coat but I think wearing a quilted non-waterproof coat is perhaps too much like wearing a sponge in bad weather?

I have lots of coats and jackets, too, Herbs, but the thing I wear most is a black leather biker type which is my go to jacket even in the depths of winter. I really ought to replace it as it's years old, but I love it to bits.

Sorry to hear the exam woes - I hope the results are better than anticipated.

I was very embarrassed last night as we went around to DD's after the children came home from nursery with DGD's birthday present only to discover that it had been the day before. I had it down in my phone diary as the 14th, but had checked the previous week that I had got it right and I thought DD had said the 15th. To compound my mistake I had also told DDiL that it was Friday. Fortunately as she was only 2 DGD hadn't realised, although 4 yo DGS told me I was a day late.

Rose, sorry to hear about your class.

Blackduck · 16/05/2015 08:00

You think Rudy?!

Dp took his birthday balloon ride yesterday - said it was lovely aside from crashing into a tree at the end and the fact they pack 'em in!

herbaceous · 16/05/2015 08:53

I think a balloon ride would be one of my worst nightmares - claustrophobia and vertigo in one little basket.

One of my many jackets is a black leather biker I bought in the Whistles sale 10 years ago. Oddly, I wore it the other day and now can't find it anywhere. This happens all the time in this house - things disappear, I look everywhere, then they reappear somewhere really obvious. We've either got a poltergeist, or I'm going mad.

motherinferior · 16/05/2015 09:03

I was going to say I am not v interested in coats but in fact once I have emerged out of my dark brown winter duvetalike, I have a jaunty black and white number bought in moment of Christmas Eve madness some years ago - we were staying with my parents, and I alleged I needed to 'go to the sales' on way back from trip to the cathedral, principally as means of escape. And have now graduated to a silk-mix brocadey number acquired in ageuk shop. Am wearing it now, en route to running shoe shop.

bigTillyMint · 16/05/2015 09:34

Herbs, that happens in my house too!

I took DM on a balloon ride for her 65th. It was great and not too packed!

Well done Rudydog!

DH and I are off to a wedding, dropping DD to school en route, leaving in 10mins. DH has only just gone in the shower and DD is readyShock

Rosebag · 16/05/2015 09:56

Thank goodness for DDog Rudy !! I asked DS2 about the Geog AS…he isn't doing Geog but says that they're still in the cohort that will be allowed to retake AS modules next year to improve the overall grade. This much maligned advantage will work in their favour before it's outlawed in the next year or two. DS2 felt like that about his French Oral AS a few weeks ago…he was virtually in tears over it, as it's supposed to be his best subject and said it it went horribly wrong. Once he'd gone through what he'd done with a teacher (and discovered that all was not lost anyway…might be a good idea for your DS?) and got told he could retake just the oral next year if needed, he felt a lot better. I do so feel for these kids….we had such a ball in the lower sixth. Sad

Hatty it's complicated…re the booking and cancelling of courses and I can't go into it too much online for fear of outing me and the organisation. Both courses were slow to book but the deadlines are stupidly early and they were bringing it forward still. It happens to a lot of teachers and I'm working with our representation groups now to fight it out. I could be a right militant thorn in their side if I can be arsed put my mind to it! Meanwhile I am available for a lot of meet ups in the summer months…. Hmm

NU we all make mistakes and you have had a tough week with your DH in hospital. You sound like you have such a loving family…they will all be cool about it. Flowers

I am still looking for a hooded trench. I can't wear coats like that one you linked to Herbs Envy Envy …I look like a bag lady in them.

Dh is doing security at our community centre this morning…I am home with all the shite… Hmm boo. Has anyone heard from Monty?
