I would have gouged out the eyeballs of anyone who tried to photograph me in labour. Especially the first time around. And DH wouldn't have been much good for the photos - he went to get a Chinese the first time and had a nap for during the second one. The nap doesn't sound so absurd until I add that I went into labour at 7pm and the child was born at 1am, so hardly a marathon stint. Then while I was getting stitches after he kept nodding off in a chair while holding the baby - I had to keep shouting at him to wake up! No stamina.

Am feeling chipper this morning - have lost 9lbs over the last 8 weeks!

QueenCardigan · 14/05/2015 09:29

Bloody hell amber, you'll be fading away!

First birth was very long. Contractions started at 8am Sunday, she was born 9.50pm Monday. Apparently it was very hard work for dh seeing me in pain and sitting in a chair all that time whilst a least I had a bed Hmm Grin.

I've had to get changed already today. I'd dressed for the rain but not for the cold. It's freezing again. I've just added in a vest, socks and a long sleeve top under my cardi instead of short sleeves!

Train tickets booked.

MarshaBrady · 14/05/2015 09:31

Lib Grin at your post I thought the same thing about the dh. He's like the personification of a skiing holiday.

But chilly today should have worn the peacoat.

MarshaBrady · 14/05/2015 09:32

And that bow is funny, quick quick stick the bow on.

LinusDKD · 14/05/2015 09:55

I so love this dress

Damn you Uniqlo for not delivering here! (Yes, I know I should unsubscribe from their e-mail as I just see lovely stuff I want and can't have)

dry maybe something for you? The navy is lovely as well.

MyVegasBaby · 14/05/2015 10:08

Love that dress Linus, I've never bought anything from there but there stuff does look nice. I have a couple of meetings near Regent Steet next week so want to pop in to Stories if I get a chance so might try and go there as well if I have time.
Amber how are you losing the weight? I'm current exercising loads but am not losing anything although I think my evening biscuit habit is to blame! Any tips on how to top that appreciated!!

shopafrolic · 14/05/2015 10:21

Knew you'd love that Linus - happy to post on if you want to deliver it to me?

MyVegas it's not easy! I run about 20 miles a week, do circuit training 3x a week and usually throw in an hour long spin class at the weekend. Next week I'm going to add in some 15 min HIIT sprint sessions to spice things up for extra fat burn. On top of that I try and eat as cleanly as possibly. A normal eating day for me might look like:

Breakfast: oats or granola with fruit and Greek yoghurt or granary toast with peanut butter

Lunch: tuna salad or homemade soup

Dinner: whatever the family is having but without the carb content so no pasta, rice or potatoes just protein and veg.

I try and stick to that as much as possible and I'm also not really drinking alcohol.

bettykt · 14/05/2015 11:57

Wow Amber that's super impressive and you're very dedicated, well done on the weight loss but where have you lost it from? You were already tiny when I met you last year! Did you say you're documenting it on Instagram? Is it under the name you use here, if so will have to take a look!

Raining and cold here so usual boring OOTD, just when I think I can start wearing s/s clothes again the cold weather returns, grr. i want to wear my flares and heeled sandals Grin

QueenCardigan · 14/05/2015 12:25

amber that doesn't sound like much food for so much exercise.
linus I nearly ordered that dress last week but would have to order xs and s and decided that i couldn't be bothered with the hassle and payment of returns.

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 14/05/2015 12:38

QueenC I returned something to Uniqlo recently for free, using collect plus. It is still a hassle though. But that dress would be lovely on you and Linus!

Amber I have so much admiration for your willpower. I get hangry Grin and I would be so unhappy without carbs. My stomach is growling as I write this. I could not go on Bear Grylls Island.

Dry I knew you'd like that pic. I can't decide whether it is amazing or tacky!

QueenCardigan · 14/05/2015 12:55

I forgot to say that I bought this vest the other day. I got that tall so it's nice and long. Will be perfect for holiday.

blair I didn't realise clck and collect was free. Still can't be bothered though! This weather is not wanting to make me purchase summer stuff. I'll just stick to the shorts I have I think on holiday.

LinusDKD · 14/05/2015 13:16

That's kind of you shop but Uniqlo wants the delivery and billing address to be the same. I tried in the past Sad

myvegas if you do manage to try it on can you let me know what sizing is like. Just in case Wink

Like queenc I'm not sure if I'm an xs or s.

Wow amber! You really are getting fit!

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 14/05/2015 14:00

QueenC yes the weather is horrible today, it's gone all cold again as well! I think I'm going to try and not buy anything else until the sales .

Well, maybe...

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 14/05/2015 15:45

Just ordered these with 20% off as I was afraid they were going to sell out in my size Blush Blush Blush

I need them to wear with my flares in summer. My S/S version of the pistols, sort of. I tried them on Monday and they were really soft and comfy.

Drywhiteplease · 14/05/2015 16:12

Blair part of me thinks it's a bit pretentious and tacky, but I really don't know why.......

linus I love your mother, I love the word "vulgar" so condescending.
I also really love that Uniqlo dress, but it looks awfully short......Marsha if you see it would you think of me length wise......I'm 5 f 3 nearly and like just above knee, not mid thigh.

Amber impressive.

Off to a Srilankan cookery demo tonight Hmm just couldn't resist.

Drywhiteplease · 14/05/2015 16:15

Oh, and loving the funny labour stories.
DS huge head never engaged lazy sod in hosp for 2 days to be induced. Nothing happened. Lots of This Morning and Daytime TV before an "emergency" Cs. DH took the pre natal advice to bring loads of food literally. Brought a ruck sack full, spent most of the time eating Hmm........bet Pink's Dh went to a reastaurant dressed in evening wear before hand.
liberty I agree, if anyone had come anywhere near me with a camera, I'd have been less than impressed Grin

QueenCardigan · 14/05/2015 16:44

Grin at blair. You waited 1h45 before shopping!

Dc2 was born during a rugby world cup match. I had to keep reminding both dh and the midwife that I was giving birth as they were so busy watching the TV Grin.

shopafrolic · 14/05/2015 16:50

Blair what are you like????? That might be an MNV shopping ban breach record!!!!!

Ski holiday!! Love it Marsha.

Have had a v long and tiring day. On way home, v wet and have just realised I have lost yet another sodding earring Sad how the hell do people keep the damn things in????

OneLittleLady · 14/05/2015 18:05

are they dangley ones lib? if they are, get some of those rubber tube backs you can buy in claires and such like, they stop them falling out of your ears. mine always fall out if i don't use those rubber tube backs with them. they also help stop studs falling out if you put them on behind the butterfly backs

libertychick · 14/05/2015 18:21

I'll try that one. It was a butterfly back one today. Must have happened when I was pulling my coat hood up or down.
