My wardrobe space is very limited compared to most of you, as I share one with DH.

I actually really dislike the wardrobe itself (the previous owners left it and we haven't been able to find anything we like and that would fit to replace it) but I have half the shelf space and half the hanging space.

We recently did buy a lovely chest of drawers/tallboy that I use for my pj's and underwear.

I do have a wardrobe in the cellar that I use to put winter/summer clothes in when season changes.

Drywhiteplease · 04/05/2015 21:14

Blair you'll wish you'd not asked:

One double, double hanging (for tops, jackets, skirts, jeans folded over hanger )
One double , 3 drawers at bottom , 4 shelves for knits etc above.
One double corner for coats, dresses. Shoes in clear boxes at botton, high shelf for "stuff"
One single for trousers, boots at bottom, high shelf at top for hand bags.

Doubles=1m wide.
All doors have rails for scarves, belts, necklaces.

and I let DH have 3 doubles, I'm kind Grin

I love my wardrobes.
I don't have wooden hangers because I'd not get all my stuff in Blush

BlairWaldorfLovesShopping · 04/05/2015 21:18

Maybe I'm not doing too badly on space then!

My second wardrobe holds summer dresses and coats (the 2 extremes), but half of it is also stuff that's been relegated which I should probably get rid of. Will have a sort out when the situation gets dire. I've also been doing the "turning hangers round when I've worn something" technique that shop suggested way back, since the new year.

shopafrolic · 04/05/2015 21:22

Ooo have you Blair? What are the results? Do you wear it all?

libertychick · 04/05/2015 21:28

Blair that's how I am seeing it! Classic with feminine touch and lux fabrics. I'm trying to use my shopping ban time to write down outfits I really like and feel good in / get compliments etc to devise a uniform. For example I feel very good in silk shirt layered under a crew neck merino sweater worn with either pencil skirt or skinny / slim leg jeans but the shirt and sweater combination doesn't work as well on me with chinos and brogues for example. Also I have realised I need some embellishment - earrings always (which is a big change for me as I didn't wear them for years), necklace or scarf or else a pretty print or some sort of detail on my collar, bracelet and a ring on my right hand. I'd like to paint my nails more often too but really haven't the time, sticking with a once a week file and coat of Dior glow for now.

Wardrobe space, I have a large fitted wardrobe about half full, one shelf and 2 small drawers for underwear, socks and tights. Great clear out one and sounds like others have benefited - bonus happy vibes!!

Maz well done on weight loss. Good shopping, really like the Gap sweater.

BrandyAlexander · 04/05/2015 22:32

Blair fab, glad you think some of those dresses might work for you!Smile Look forward to seeing what you get. I was quite tempted actually but wardrobe is bursting at the seams so reined myself in.

Speaking of wardrobes...Blush...deep breath....I have a dressing room like Dry and it's got the equivalent of 4 double sized wardrobes and 2 x 4 drawers chests in there. It's actually the size of a double bedroom and then the three sides are wardrobe/chests. Dh won't take my hints to leave it all to meGrin so he has about 25% of the space. A few months ago I moved out my holiday clothes and summer dresses, vests and shorts into the spare room fitted with 2 double wardrobes. I am only using half a double in that room!

AmberNectarine · 05/05/2015 08:18

I have a large double (about 2m) with a rail, some hanging shelves within it for jeans, a shelf at the top for a couple of boxes of things I don't wear much with designer shoes (in their boxes) and bags at the bottom. Then I have a separate wardrobe for the rest of my shoes. Then a 3 drawer unit with tops and jumpers and the bottom drawer of my bedside unit houses my workout stuff. I also have a couple of underbed storage boxes with yet more shoes/boots. Oh, and my coats are in DS's wardrobe.

BrandyAlexander · 05/05/2015 08:41

Aaargh! bad start to day! I accidentally put one nail varnish on right toes and another on left toes. My period started and i have left sanitary towels at home. I am in a senior meeting all day but I am not central to it so decided not to do a knock out dress. Bad idea. The one I have chosen is a bit too short and therefore inappropriate. Oh and dd had a meltdown so I forgot to put top layer on my finger nails, and didn't get chance to dry properly. It already looks bad. oh and I may have pinched my left eye contact putting it in this morning.

God I hope everyone else's day is starting better than this!!!

shopafrolic · 05/05/2015 09:12

Looks like I passed the bad day vibes from yesterday on to you Novice Flowers Hope things improve rapidly

Maz love how well you stuck to your shopping brief :) The jeans look good - can see you in all of it.
Pilates cancelled this morning (and I have back pain) so will have to try and do some at home instead. Rotten gloomy weather. Can't wait for summer to officially start - need to get wearing fun stuff.

QueenCardigan · 05/05/2015 09:45

Oh novice poor you. Hope you can find some sanitary towels.

Just been for a quick run and luckily managed to escape the rain which is lashing down now. Time for shower and catching up on the ironing. Dh is back later. I've missed him .

OneLittleLady · 05/05/2015 09:50

Oh no novice I ope things improve quickly! Thanks

Argh, nothing is working today, my equipment is working properly and i don't kno wwhy so I'm trying to figure everything out. I'm not in class today as I'm in terrible pain and it's all i can do to shuffle from my desk to the bathroom so I'm not fit to leave the flat. Will have to pay for a drs note to excuse me when I go to see the gp later in the week Sad

Hope your back pain is better soon Shop

Ahhh, how well did your DP do QueenC, I bet you're so proud of him Smile

Stokey · 05/05/2015 12:08

Flowers One & Novice. Hope your days improve. Awful being caught out with your period. I can't believe you have to pay for a DR's note One, being penalised for not being healthy

I'm taking DD1 to Moorfields this afternoon so can't do pilates so thought I may try Jillian Michaels 6 weeks abs challenge after doing the 30 day shred on and off for last year or so - although I've never really graduated past first level. Anyway it KILLED me, various exercises I don't think I'll ever be able to do - side plank I'm looking at you. Anyone got a good , less intense, abs workout they would recommend? I don't need a 6 pack, just slightly more toning.

I really want some pointy summer flats but we're starting to feel the pinch of me not working. So if anyone sees a pair like the Boden ones or Amber's topshop ones but for half the price, let me know!

QueenCardigan · 05/05/2015 12:24

I echo stokey, one, why do you need to pay for a doctors note? Surely you only need a note if absent for a long time?

stokey we sometimes do side planks in circuits. Killers aren't they Grin.

Just been ironing to absolute radio 80s Smile

OneLittleLady · 05/05/2015 12:34

queenC stokey all absences, to be authorised, have to have shown either an appointment card or have a doctors note. even if it's just one day. i think it's ridiculous myself but apparently it's the rules

LinusDKD · 05/05/2015 14:45

lib your description of your outfits really sounds like you're confident in what suits you and what doesn't! Very impressive!

novice my periods started today as well so I sympathise. I hope your day gets better.

I just had a look at the Met Ball pictures. Wow! And not in a good way.

The only dresses I loved were Katie Holmes (very jealous of her hair as well), Carey Mulligan, Gabrielle Union (gorgeous colour) and Jessica Alba.

The rest, well, if Beyonce can make Kim K look classy there's not much hope.

Oh and Lewis Hamilton, you're a handsome man, please don't wear that electric blue monstrosity ever again and get a haircut

shopafrolic · 05/05/2015 16:08

these were my favourite photos from the Met Ball But I am a HONY addict :)
Agree - lots of trashy outfits and SJP?! Loved Katie Holmes hair, and was surprised to see Katy Perry with short hair........ (too many extensions?)

Did Sienna forget to put a top on? Seriously they all look like they're trying to outdo each other with their wackiness.

QueenCardigan · 05/05/2015 16:16

It comes to something when madonna looks the most normal Grin. But what's with her face. Far too much Botox. And Amal has lost too much weight. She's got lollipop head.

shopafrolic · 05/05/2015 16:23

Rosie H-W looks way tooooooo skinny :(

LinusDKD · 05/05/2015 16:33

Oh, forgot to mention I love Kendall Jenner's dress. Great colour on her and classy despite the sideboob.

BrandyAlexander · 05/05/2015 18:26

Hello! Quick dash in to say thank you. Managed to run out of the meeting at lunch time and go into Boots. Thankfully using PS1 so bulky sanitary pads aren't so obvious. I was sat all day so no one noticed my short dress. My toes are hidden under tights and I have moved my hands a lot so hopefully no one has noticed my slapdash finger nails! I am off to drinks now with same people so could undo all my good work.Grin

Will look at links later. Don't even need to look at the Lewis Hamilton one to similarly despair!Grin

BrandyAlexander · 05/05/2015 18:26

Oh and Thanks to One. Hope your day got better.

Cranagh · 05/05/2015 19:41

Love Humans of NY also, Shop.

Don't remember who asked about this Gap dress sizing but it is true to size, I got a medium and I am a 12.

Clothes storage- I have one average size one, half a large chest of drawers and 2 large suitcases under the bed. Shoes everywhere! New house will be much better for storage, no dressing room though, sadly.

Sounds like your day improved, Novice, hope yours did too, One.
