Inspired by the Lipstick Queen are crap thread, I've got things I need to get off my chest (so to speak).

Nude lipstick, can't bear it. Hate, hate the 'foundation coloured lips' look.

There are others but that is my most loathed thing at the moment.

Do other people have things that the whole world seems to love but them?

Superdry jackets
Young girls with long, messily tied up hair that look like they've been dragged through a hedge backwards
Skinny jeans on any man that isn't Olly Murs
Stiletto nails
Shapeless sack type dresses
Too much fake tan
Too much makeup (especially caked on foundation)
The 'Scouse brow'
Lumberjack shirts
satin dresses with diamanté that cost a fortune but look really cheap and tacky
And the much maligned Peplum dresses which are just awful!

Turquoiseblue · 28/04/2015 06:07

Ohh I love a list Grin.

Personal SnB peeves are

Animals on stuff - tees / dresses etx (the horse trend a few years ago really freaked me out Shock)

Obvious labels and monogrammed stuff not limited to but including LV bags/ luggage, Gucci and coach and fendi, and Tory burch shoes,

Not dressing for the season- ie the first day of sunshine in April (but temps are still

pictish · 28/04/2015 07:45

katopotato it's a shame isn't it? Some years ago I used to think that 50s inspired victory rolls/ tattooed look was so cool...but now? Yeah it's as run of the mill as shopping in Markies.

It's a shame about tattoos in general actually...I used to think they were cool too, but man have they become dull and predictable! Sleeve tattoos are especially fashion victim like atm. Tattoos now go through trends of their own....in the 90s it was tribal tattoos (and all those Chinese symbols) and now it's sleeves.

Nabootique · 28/04/2015 08:16

Somebodystolemyname Asked for a hoof shoe picture and I don't think anyone else has posted one. Behold, the nude hoof shoe!

Vile !! Forgot to add
Any patent nude shoes ! Look cheap even if cost a bomb !!
( did have some ted baker Savannah nude patents and hated them ... Gave to charity shop !!!

pictish · 28/04/2015 08:22

What I was thinking of when I said "those boots that make women's feet look like hooves" - these monsters.
Inexplicably popular.

Nabootique · 28/04/2015 08:25

Itsalldramarama Apparently Christian Laboutin made the original nude hoof shoe, but I can no longer find a picture of it (have seen it before. It's equally hideous as the above), so that would have cost a pretty penny! Ugh.

GoStraightGoStraight · 28/04/2015 08:27

That is my sole objection to tattoos pictish. Everything becomes ubiquitous and mundane in the end. I totally get that some of them are beautiful works of art and can look edgy and drop dead fab on the right people when they are done well, but like just about every other single thing we wear from clothing to make-up to jewellery to hairstyles they date every ten years or so, and they totally carbon date the wearer. If you don't want to be looking stale and naff and stuck in a fashion time-warp with your hair and clothes then why on earth would you want to do it with a tattoo, which you are physically attached to forever? Especially these ones that show on calves, cleavages and decollate areas, necks, faces, hands, lower arms….honestly I just want to cry for some of these young women and shake them and say 'you silly, silly girl, you have no idea how much you are going to loathe and regret that in 10 years time.'

ggirl · 28/04/2015 08:33

slashed knee jeans

low slung jeans on men/boys showing their pants

pandora bracelets

hankerchief hemlines

waterfall cardis

winged eyeliner

obvious lipliner

glittery stuff on any item

AWholeLottaNosy · 28/04/2015 08:37

Oh dear. I wear nude lipstick as pink or red doesn't suit me at all.

I also love my red nails...

The men too. Guys - if Robbie Williams does it, it's over. Ok?

A pal of mine is in the process of getting her ubiquitous, standard issue sleeve tattoo finished off. I never know what to say about it when she gets it out for my viewing because I'm a crap liar. It's crap - a poorly executed, random mess done by some scratcher on the high street with no artistic merit to speak of. Like the vast majority of tattoos I see.
It's fine...all her facebook friend gush over it plenty so she's happy.

noddyholder · 28/04/2015 08:40

30 yrs on still love my tattoo. But regret is not my thing and I think most people who would regret don't have them.

avocadotoast · 28/04/2015 09:00

GoStraight cry for me all you want but I wouldn't waste your time Wink I've six tattoos and I don't regret a single one. (That said, I've always taken the time to do my research and only go to decent tattooers. People who've been to shit ones/scratchers probably do have something to regret...)

daftyburd · 28/04/2015 09:00

Don't regret any of my tattoos either. Oldest is 26 years old. I'm in the process of booking up to go to Rome to have one done by an artist whose work I admire. Plus keeps me going to the gym to stay toned, toned, toned. I like the look if them better when I have muscles. I'm determined to look like an inked up Ernestine Shepherd when I'm a little old lady!

PeachandBlack · 28/04/2015 09:04

Those tops with holes in the sleeves - are they called cold shoulder tops?

Nautical style - every January the shops are full of navy/white/red nautical themed clothing. It's some kind of law.

Those bubble necklaces that used to be all over Pinterest. Didn't catch on so much in UK.

Scarves worn with vest tops

Those scarf/necklace combos

Ugg boots worn with summer dresses

pictish · 28/04/2015 09:05

Avocado quite right. I always thought I would get a tattoo or four, but because I'd only go to someone of outstanding calibre, I never did have the spare money for such an artist and never did get around to getting any.
I won't bother now for reasons already explained. I do like tattoos but only the really good ones, which most people's really aren't.

noddyholder · 28/04/2015 09:12

There have always been bad tattoos Its like anything

Charityworker34 · 28/04/2015 09:17

Oh god yes, Pandora bracelets. Expensive but look like they're from Claire's Accessories

OnlyLovers · 28/04/2015 09:51

I've sinned badly according to this thread!

Knee high boots
Ballet shoes
Stripy tops
Birkenstocks
Tunics
Chunky jumpers
Polo necks

These are a few of my favourite things. Grin

pictish · 28/04/2015 10:49

Oh me too. I'm invariably in wrap dresses/tunics and leggings with ballet pumps or birkenstocks. And a scarf. Grin

It's all good. To each their own.

niminypiminy · 28/04/2015 10:52

Yeah, I'll own up to some sins ... toast-style shapeless dresses, Birkenstocks, brothel creepers, footless tights Grin

Just thought of another loathe: Argyll check. Actually, anything tartan leaves me cold, but there is a special place in textile hell for Argyll checks.

I am a massive sinner. I do my own nail art Grin

MrsBattersby · 28/04/2015 11:11

Bootcut/flared jeans
Men in sandals
Men in skinny jeans
Unpainted toenails (especially when teamed with dry, crusty feet- ew)
Boden/Fat Face/White Stuff et al
The 'French' look (breton, ballet pumps etc in dull, muted colours- boring)
Knee length boots
Brown leather
Arse cheek denim Shorts
Square nails
French manicures
Shorts (especially denim) and tights combo- just no
Scouse brows

I do love a peplum dress or skirt though Grin

MrsBattersby · 28/04/2015 11:12

Oh and permed hair! Never looks as good as natural curls

CaptainAnkles · 28/04/2015 11:21

I hate the way that suddenly the only trousers available are whatever is fashionable. Skinny jeans etc do not look right on people with huge wide arses and fat thighs, but you see women in them anyway because that's what was in the shops and they'd been told that was what everyone had to have or risk looking frumpy.

Ballerina flats are fucking uncomfortable because the soles are so thin, you can feel every stone you walk on.

I like linen trousers because they are cool to wear in summer but they do always look crumpled and like they're disappearing up ones crack.
